FINALLY! I've been shouting this from the rooftops since this whole debarkle began. Venky's is a brand name that means little to them and the circles the move in, they are the Rao Family, that is the name they care most about.

A while back I did a load of work with an Indian copywriter, who specialised in targeting successful business owners (it was an attempt to get the story of how The Raos are perceived in the uk, to their own social circle) and he had no clue about Venky's or football, but he had heard of the Roas (he was also terrified of them finding out he was assisting us).

That said, we eventually came to the conclusion that even embarrassing them in their own social circle wouldn't impact them selling the club.

I hope the concept is picked up and looked at by RT, Action Group, EMC etc.

Super article. Henry Winter has always liked Rovers since his time at the Daily Telegraph.

He understands what Rovers means to the community and the town - unlike some of the comments at the bottom of the piece.

I never read newspaper comment sections of football news.

The LT has put me off for life.

Don't pontificate.... by expressing the above as fact.

There are fans working exceptionally hard behind the scenes whilst your watching the club die. The articles have to come from some where and some sources and I had the pleasure to speak to Nick yesterday and another journalist trying to still piece things together but also gleam there experiences of other situations for the eventual forward planning. More so his sporting intelligence website is an excellent tool and more people should probably take a look at it.

No rules broken by EFL but there is by the FA and EPL and Jerome. This is outlined in my letter/report to the FA what went across three weeks ago to David Newton and Martin Glenn, frustrated yesterday by no reply I emailed it to Shaun Harvey and he got back to me within minutes confirming he'd received it and will review and get back to me on it. We will push for a meeting as it's as much about what has gone on but also the financial side and planning for the future in the event when disaster strikes.

I have never said fans aren't working hard have I?

Nick Harris, Oliver Kay and Henry Winter are top people and done more than the rest have so I have huge respect for that.

I have read all of the Sporting Intelligence articles and I have them all on my Laptop saved in a Folder

EPL wont be interested as we aren't part of their league anymore.

Shaun Harvey will look But don't forget his words on Radio 5 live on Sunday, No new investigate to happen or nee rules broken.

What FA rules have been broken? Still no response from Newton or Glenn

What momentum Chaddy?! Coverage on Football Focus,606, every national newspaper I've read highlighting our plight and the idiocy of our owners, many footballers saying the same thing, fans on social media expressing their sympathy (apart from Burnley of course).

We have had more publicity this last few days than in the last 6 years and it really is important to keep that momentum going. Everyone can help by writing to the football authorities to express their outrage, to MPs, to the Council to protect Rovers assets, to newspapers, phone-ins and on social media.

This is the only way our relegation will not have been in vain. And who knows, it could help persuade Venkys it's not worth the hassle?

You could help yoo Chaddy lif you believed in anything other than sitting in your seat for 90 minutes a fortnight while chanting that nothing can affect Venkys.

Venkys will look at the money side of it and nothing else.

Media pressure will have no effect on them at all.

Sorry to say this but currently have other more important personal and family things to sort and sadly these matters more at this current times. 3 people on here know their circumstances behind that. TBH, the last 8 days have been one of the hardest times of my life.

No you're not. You're claiming paying supporters are 'watching the club die'. Have a word with yourself.

That's comment was massive disrespectful to Rovers fans

Share price booming again, 800k flushed on 2 sets of accountants to tell them who to lay off despite having an accountant as main director at the club.

So far only about 1.5 million spent on rebuilding squad out of c30 million raked in over past 2 years.

Hmm....

My question would be why, if relegation Is a 'temporary setback' and a return to the Premier League is the aim announced recently by our 'owners' is there a need to offload staff?

I'm all for running an efficient operation and getting rid of people who don't do anything, but it is slightly annoying to see genuine people probably face the chop as a result of horrendous decisions from people at the top.

Meanwhile the culprits carry on as usual. Mike 'outstanding candidate' Cheston still collecting his substantial salary. Shadow director still operating behind the scenes. Anthony Stokes getting a 6 figure pay off. Owen Coyle and his boys getting a good pay off for relegating us.

Whilst there is a certain inevitabilty about this it is still infuriating and directly attributable to the shocking ownership of the Indians. As JHRover says there are still examples of poor management which if avoided could have saved some of the at risk jobs. Cheston has more blood on his hands than most with the appointment of Coyle which effectively condemned us to relegation. I would be interested to see how much they paid to KPMG and Deloite for the 'restructuring' advice.

I recall some years ago that the Indians went on record as saying they wanted to help local people and the area by donating money. I vaguely remember some suggestion that they put some money into the Cathedral and there was some mention of helping local people who are encountering hard times. They have just added to them hard times through their ineptitiude.

This has really put a dampener on the good work Mowbray has done in the close season.

Wasn't Cheston about to appoint Warnock and came back from holidays to then be the stooge who presented Coyle??

That's the story but he was happy to put his name to the outstanding candidate. If any of us were him or even a non attached emotionally to Rovers director you'd be on the blower saying look this is a very bad idea for a whole host of reasons, it won't work.

Not cardboard Mike though, yes Sir, Madame, I'll sign it off right away.

Who knows really what was going on. We were also heavily linked with Neil Redfearn, Russell Slade and Warren Joyce so whoever was doing the managerial search I'd argue didn't know his ar5e from his elbow.

Cheston's preposterous comments after Coyle arrived about him being the 'outstanding candidate' among other ludicrous claims just really rubbed salt in the wounds and slapped fans in the face one more time when there was no need for it.

Then there's the damage it did to season ticket sales. Had they appointed a Warnock or other capable manager not only would we have probably survived in the Championship but season ticket sales would undoubtedly been higher than they were.

I heard from a reliable source that it was in the region of £800k Tony.

Which would equate to approximately the 12 month wages of 40+ admin or part time staff.

On the staff cuts? Hasnt Battersby said in the summer that Rovers are massively over staff in some areas. Still at PL level

The cuts are tough on the staff affected but some people might take the redundancy money and make a new start with it.

I have been made refundant twice in the past 8 years. So i know how it feels

New start? I really doubt it, mate.

As you will know, statutory redundancy is a week's pay for every year worked( up to 20)..a week and a half pay, if you are over 41.

Even then, there is a ceiling on what a week's pay should be.

Make no mistake, this is a big blow to people, who deserve much better. Remember it is only necessary because tossers on silly, unjustifiable salaries have been so useless. Are you reading, Cheston Chump?

The downsizing of the club continues. As others have mentioned, spending this 800k on auditors would have paid these guys salaries for the year or if spent in January could have kept us up and them in their jobs. Its almost as if they are planning for life in L1 and its not the temporary setback they first said it was. Perhaps this is what they wanted all along, devaluing the club so much that it costs them very little to run. What will be the next step?

There is always a slap in the face from these guys, tainting what otherwise seemed like a decent pre-season for once.

Quite.

Anyone with an ounce of integrity would have walked, if  an "agent" suddenly produced an appointee from the shadows after the recruitment process was complete.

Then to come out and call Clownpants.the outstanding candidate tells you everything you need to know about Cheston!

FOC!!

3 or 4k can give you a new career or a start of one.

When I was redundant 8 years I got 3k. 6 weeks pay of service and 6 weeks of notice paid up. With that money I got for FLT licence with it.

When I was redundant in May this year I just done a full day work and was told at 5pm that I was being made redundant and didnt need to work my notice. I was gobsmacked as nothing been mention previously about it. Only been there 7 months.

I was down hearted but within a week I got a new job with higher salary and working less days. I enjoyed my new job and allowed me to go to more games.

Yes it isnt right and will affect them
