What a pathetic thread. These are mainly professional footballers who have been landed in this surreal situation and had to make the best if it they could. If anyone makes you puke it should be the Venkys and their cohorts.

Zzzzzzzz, it's just a talking point whilst there's nothing else to talk about. If you don't like it don't come on the thread.

As a kid I loved Lee carsley . He stood out in an awful team . I remember being really angry about his move to Coventry and delighted when they got relegated and we went back up.

Been Marshall for his sub standard performances when we needed our better players and then that video where he's singing with Wednesday fans to sign him up whilst contracted , getting paid and playing for us... First class prick.

Obviously the others who have been mentioned. Goes without saying

Derek bleeding Dougan. Asked for a transfer on the morning of the 1960 FA Cup Final. !!

Start of a dreadful day for the club including the famous tickets scandal which led to many fans boycotting the club forever.

And we lost 3-0.

That's who I posted about earlier in this thread by way of a quote he made about Rovers and the Town. He hated both.

Not only the transfer request but also he was carrying an injury and passed himself fit to play in the final. A famous Rover who played in the Final told me that Rovers started the game with 10 and had 9  wanting still to play when Whelan got injured.

I was only 8  at the time but never forgave him for that.

For completely different reasons and in the more recent past and in no particular order the awards go to:

Orr, Duffy, Murphy & Best.

What a dung heap those 4 make.

Duffy best orr Murphy Anderson  & andrews. I was watching the Newcastle home game on Sky and Andrews was doing coverage and he constantly spoke about how great Newcastle were and how he expected rovers to be hammmered.

The same continued at ht.

After we won there was a 2 second after match coverage with Andrews looking visably upset that newcastle lost.

My missis who has no interest in football at all also hates Andrews due to the state of his hair... she's a gooden.

My mates 74 year old mam is similar as we went round to do a job for her then sat having a brew up popped Andrews on the screen. 'is that a wig ? ' no love he always looks like that 'well what's his problem he looks a right pillock ! '

She never swears bless her so yes Andrews is a goon he makes people annoyed who've no idea who he is.

To put into perspective Keith Andrews standing in a Rovers short, he was even worse than JLowe and that takes some doing !

Best Etuhu and Murphy are the kind of leeches that bled the club dry aided and abeted by we know who. Orr and Duffy come into a category of their own.

I always wanted to the lad to do well having come through the academy but as a once aspiring footballer myself that played at numerous clubs and had a big slice of bad fortune... Watching Jason Lowe was like torture. Me and my mates started doing 'Lowe watch' to work out what exactly he was doing on the pitch. The video below in his last game sums up his time here.

I hope he goes on to prove me wrong and turns into something that resembles a footballer.

What the funk was he trying to do there?

First time I saw him play in the flesh I couldn't believe how poor he was technically. He can run a bit , head it a bit , tackle a bit , pass the ball a bit - typical modern player only worse than most.

Ha. That video sums up lowe. But one thing I'll say for reasons that weren't at all obvious to me every single manager played him.

But I never hated him in the same way I never hated Keith Andrews. He was just another lummox. Davis to turn up practically obese was a joke but I more pitied his uselessness than hate. The only players I've hated whilst in a rovers shirt were:

Orr, Murphy, Best, Duffy Yorke

The thing I hated about Yorke was he obviously didn't give a toss about playing for us but he got Andy Cole playing the same way. I remember us playing Sunderland at Ewood on a really hot day. Between them they did next to naff all. Kevin Phillips was playing up front for Sunderland and he ran every pass and every clearance down like his life depended on it.

Vinjay has asked me to add Phil Jones to this list.

Reminds me a bit of David May old Jonesy in that he went to Man U for big money and a big fanfare then somewhat flopped but is happy to cling on there and be a bit part just because its Man Utd. Could have been a star player in a lesser team doing a certain job but seems happy to waste his career as a spare part.

What a let down his career has been. I thought he was going to be a superstar. I wonder has he had chances to move? I could see him at a Southampton or Everton type of club. His injury record isn't doing him any favours.

Definitely wouldn't say I hate him though. Don't really understand why any rovers fan would

I think another season or two at Rovers would've done him good under someone like Big Sam turning him into a specialist defensive mid although Kean would have ruined him no doubt.

Certainly could have been a star here but always out of his depth going to Utd at that stage. Fergie had a rush of blood therei ghink and i wonder just what happened to that 19 million ?    Hell it  was  almost  as much as was paid for the club ;)

Maybe the accounts will find out !

Per Frandsen.played like the Bolton 5th columnist he was.

I didn't dislike them as such but Alan Fettis (fetid on predictive test) and that Matt Dickins (?) who threw some in against Wolves on what was I think his only appearance, were awful.

Mitigation was that they never got a run of games I suppose. After all berg and Anderson had poor debuts.but those keepers were shocking.

I agree about Frandsen. He was a really poor signing. As Bill Shankly once said about another player - " A heart as big as a caraway seed ".
