Morris isnt an out and out winger either. He often plays centrally, lacks pace and would just be another Dack, Payne etc.

I would also sign him permanently but theres no rush before Wednesday, hes no use to us now.

Scunthorpe play 3 at the back against us. Dont know if that regular formation for them or not.

I would be signing Chapman now. Before boro or other teams want him.

He will be back in a month or so

Are we thinking metatarsal.  Looked like their player  stood  on his foot.

I thought he turned his ankle after landing awkwardly following an aerial challenge. That could be ligament damage though. He walked down the tunnel unaided if that's any indication.

I think we are about to see if our luck is turning. Just enough of an injury to put off clubs looking at Mulgrew - but nothing so bad it keeps him out for more than a couple of weeks.

Lets be honest - based on his previous injury record - he has played a lot more than I hoped for. Personally I would agree on those asking for us to buy a tall centre half - what's Samba doing these days :-)

Indeed. Not sure where people are getting a broken foot and metatarsal from.

We need some quality cover for there Williams was ok because we were playing Northampton you tool he wasn't exactly exposed was he.

How long do we wait for Lenihen and what happens if he breaks down ?

Get some cover in whilst it's possible you never ever learn a thing do you.

Dont talk down to me.

Big if.

We have enough cover for Mulgrew

Talk  down ????

You've dug me out in two posts with your usual dismissive manner go back and look at them then ask yourself why you get a reaction.

Speak to people as you expect to be spoken to yourself, it doesn't matter if it's a different opinion it's the manner how you operate on here you snide !

We absolutely do not. We are going to be managing with sticking plasters.

Your opinion on this is based on Mowbray’s face-saving comment about Williams being good enough to play there.

If Mowbray stated that we need a new CB you would agree. It would be interesting if just once you had an opinion that was counter to one handed to you by the Rovers manager.

This is my point we seem happy now to have a load of forwards and mids, we've just got left back cover so why not some decent centre half back up lets face it we concede goals far too easily it wouldn't hurt to have a decent presence on the bench.

More injuries and square pegs for round holes again I just think whilst there's a chance bolster the area.

If Mulgrews scan brings bad news we really need to push the boat out and bring a decent, experienced centre half before the window shuts on Wednesday. With Lenihan not having had a game yet, no Ward on the bench and talk of Wharton going out on loan we are suddenly short of central defenders. This is crucial in my view and could be the difference between going up automatically or the lottery of the playoffs.

The solution is simple imo, don't send Wharton out on loan! I'd rather have him in the side than Ward every day of the week.

With Lenihan due to come back I think Downing/Wharton/Lenihan/Ward is more than adequate cover especially given Nyambe and Williams have shown they can fill in and do a decent job there as well.

Our inability to keep clean sheets has certainly cost us on many occasions this season.

I wouldn't agree as I feel we have enough in this position.

we need a wide player and centre midfielder before the deadline

We are about to find out in the next few games how good Mulgrew’s distribution is from the back and how appalling Williams distribution is. Some of Williams passes in Saturday were mind boggling

This is the captain,a huge dressing room influence, our best striker of a dead ball, arguably our best player or if not, one of them, usually reliable defender in a specialist position, lynch pin and organiser, and we don't need to bring in cover for any of that?

All goes back to the summer and the overwhelming calls for a first choice centre back to be brought in. We settled for Downing who, in fairness, has turned out to be a good signing but do you trust him to lead the defence like CM has?

Should have been addressed in the summer. Now what all predicted has happened I fear a weak defence will become even weaker. Let's hope Downing, Williams, Wharton & Lenihan can, between them, make a fraction of what CM has given to this team this season. I fear not.

Not sure if it's been posted. Nixon saying Brum are after Mulgrew...but that Rovers would be loathe to sell. All bases covered.

Why would Mulgrew want successive relegations on his CV? As you say the chief hedger of bets has once again paved the way for all eventualities.

How on earth does he get away with it.

As said, there is a chance he could be back in L1 with them and we would 'hopefully' be in the Championship - would be an odd move all around.

Downing has been a very good signing after very quickly being written off on here by some people.

Lenihan, Downing and Williams are all experience defenders. So Mulgrew being out is big loss but the other players have to step up and take the chance to play.

The centre back area was address by us signing Downing.

Much of Downings success was due to being alongside Mulgrew - he has admitted it himself. Said Mulgrew is always telling him what to do and is always learning from him. Be interesting to see how he does next to a kid from the academy, our RB or LB or god forbid Ward.

And you know this how? This was a serious injury. I would be very surprised if he even plays again this season. if he does it will be at the tail-end of the season.

I don't think it's that we don't need to cover for what you stated. But from the list above there is no one available, to us.
