Apparently this is the suspected injury which if true is 6-8 weeks.

Cheers kamy. Either way it’s bad news and it’ll take longer to get back to speed. Above all else for what he’s done for Rovers I hope and go to bed with my fingers crossed for the lad tonight.

Thanks Kamy. So around 10 weeks out. 6-8 weeks injury and couple of weeks working back up to fitness

If its as bad as expected we definitely need a new goalscorer as a priority. As much as we need a centre back that is for competition. Without Dack we lack goals.

No. We already have enough.

Play Holtby there or go 4-4-2 with Bennett and Rothwell wide with Graham or Gallagher or Armstrong up front as a pair.

More than enough options within the team to cover this.

Gallagher and Brereton are not going to get enough goals to cover Dack.  Rothwell doesn't score and Armstrong blows hot and cold.  Graham doesn't work as well with the others as he does with Dack.  For me, a Dack replacement should be the number one priority in this window.

We have to disagree Parsonblue. If Dack is only to be out for 8 weeks I wouldnt replace him.

I would play Holtby in the 10 role playing off Gallagher for Birmingham game. Armstrong and Rothwell wide.

For me, we need a keeper, left back and centre back in this window.

Dack hasn't been playing astoundingly well but has still been chipping in with plenty of goals. Not sure we could replace him without spending Premier League type money and I'd be looking at Holtby and Rothwell to step up and fill the void between them.

I'd be more worried about the situation up front. Graham imo has completely gone and Rothwell and Brereton still have it all to prove.

Wouldn't disagree with Chaddy about needing a keeper CB and LB as well though. Thought William's was dreadful last night.

Worst player for us to have injured. i would certainly take the 6-8 weeks though compared to the rest of the season.

We do have Holtby but he is more creator than goalscorer so we would have to rely on others around him to up their game, ie Arma, Rothwell or whoever else plays either side of him. it is either that or going two up top or somehow finding a replacement (perhaps even a loan).

I think Holtby might surprise us in the next few weeks. Yes, dacky is going to be a huge miss but Holtby has real quality, which for me he shows every time he plays. He also has more goals & assists than Rothwell this season in fewer appearances.

I think we might be pleasantly surprised. Would love to see Dack & holtby together again like the hudds match

Just home now. Quick question. Was that a standard performance by Armstrong.

Thought he Was absolutely shocking In every aspect of his play

Fairly standard although that was poorer than most. Usually offers flashes here and there and is capable of grabbing a goal.

He, like us as a team seems to struggle against teams looking to defend and counter. His pace is best utilized with us being the fast counterattacking team rather than the other way around.

He simply cannot play against teams like that. Should just save him for away games or at home against teams who come to have a go.

I honestly don't know how anybody can speculate how long Dack will be out unless they have seen the scans. Knee injuries can be hard to diagnose and the only definitive diagnosis is through a scan. This should happen over the next couple of days providing there is not too much swelling.

Pure speculation.

See what comes out of the club in the next few days.

We have proved we can play without him like at Bristol, but whether we can do that on a consistent basis I'm not sure.

“Apparently”, “suspected”, “if true”.

Yeah, I’d say Kamy has gone for speculation.

Yeah, I’d say Kamy has gone for speculation.

I would imagine a knee specialist has had a good feel around and tested the mobility of the joint by now and that Kamy has reliable inside information.

Of course a full scan is needed to see if there is hidden damage as well as the primary damage.

I’m not sure why anyone is downplaying Dack’s injury, it’s absolutely catastrophic.

Even if we have got people to fill in his position, let’s hope they remember their shooting boots, as his goals are going to be the hardest thing to replace!!

When I saw his knee go in that direction, I thought it was his medial ligament. I did the exactly the same when I was younger. It instantly popped and burnt inside.  I'd imagine that a tear in it might be two to three months, but if it is ruptured like the image above, no chance on Earth of 6-8 weeks. More likely 6-8 months

6 -8 weeks would be best case scenario stuff.

I think we can absorb his loss better than some are making out. Especially if its a 2 month out job. Holtby can step in. The likes of him, Armstrong,Rothwell and Gallagher will need to start chipping in more goals

As they haven’t done so, already this season, let’s hope they have a complete 180 and start doing so with some urgency....
