We've only conceded 2 in the last 6 games. I think Walton is slowly starting to look a capable keeper at this level.

good point, we need a keeper and left back bring in now. Plus a good quality centre back in case Lenihan or Tosin get injured again.

Where are the goals there? We might have alternative bodies but we are so reliant on Dacks goals and without him I cant see where they are going to come from. I think we are desperate for a wide man and also an attacker who can score with regularity. As much as I dont rate Walton, and as much as I worry at the depth beneath our 2 capable centre backs, in terms of first team, the main 2 priorities have to be someone to put the ball in the back of the net, even if its a loan, and a left back which will also give us more flexibility with Downing. We do also need a winger or 2, a goalkeeper and a centre back in the next 6 months but its about priorities and scoring goals is a major one. Hoping that Gallagher and in particular Brereton start scoring with sudden regularity is beyond wishful thinking.

I'm sure we thought the same when Shearer got injured in the 92/93 season but we found a way of scoring goals and winning games. Players set up to the mark and performance. I don't anyone out there who we bring in who is going to score Dack's type goals. We have to adapt and play different and find a way to win games.

We need a keeper in, a left back to allow Downing to play further forward, a centre back who can play cos Tosin and Lenihan will be get injury at some time. We don't need a winger cos Downing can play wide left now.

We can play 4-4-2 or play 4-2-3-1 with Holtby or Rothwell in the 10 role.

I'm happy with our forward/strikers options.

Apparently this is the suspected injury which if true is 6-8 weeks.

IMO, an incorrect suspected diagnosis.

You are not in the same pain as Dack was even with a torn MCL and it is even possible to walk upon it providing the knee doesn't give way.

Talking from personal experience!

I would imagine a knee specialist has had a good feel around and tested the mobility of the joint by now and that Kamy has reliable inside information.

Of course a full scan is needed to see if there is hidden damage as well as the primary damage.

Would be staggered if Dack was seen by an orthopedic surgeon (with a knee specialism) before midnight last night (when Kamy posted).

Even with serious knee injuries, it is still possible to weight bear.

No orthopedic surgeon worth his salt would proffer a diagnosis without a scan with this type of injury.

i would be amazed if Dack plays again this season and he could even be out for the entire calendar year (2020).

Dack was in severe pain which, sadly, suggests a real bad one.

Depends on the person and the pain threshold of the people.

I've broken my metatarsal bone in right foot but didn't go hospital for hours after. I was in pain but just thought all I done was sprain my ankle.

There’s little point speculating. Apart from anything else none of us actually know Dack’s pain threshold and modern footballers do tend to squeal a lot at the best of times, so I wouldn’t make any judgements on that. Hopefully it won’t be as bad as feared.

Having seen several bad injuries on the pitches up and down the country Andy my rule of thumb was if they are screaming it wasn't that serious but if a player was lying prostrate and in silence the chances were it was more serious. I once asked a club doctor about this and he said when a serious injury occurs your bodies defence mechanisms kick and and the shock can mask the pain.

It's far from an exact science but it helped me when dealing with injuries.

It was pretty obvious it was serious. Also in terms of how it happened. It wasnt so much of a foul, foul in that Morsy didnt actually put a tackle in. But all Dack was doing was letting it run out of play. And Morsy has kinda run through him. Which is just the type of player Morsy is. A thuggish cu** who tries to land one on anyone and everyone he comes into contact with. He didn't as such tackle him. It was unlucky. But the bloke is an absolute thug who is going to inflict these kinda injuries on players by the way that he plays with no regards for other players safety at any moment. It was an unnecessary nudge which has seen Dacks weight bearing leg buckle. The bloke is a wa*ker

I think the reaction of the medical staff and the fact he was chugging on oxygen suggests it is a really bad one.

He might be a wuss though. I personally hope he is!

Just as long as it didn't break your spirit and shatter your optimism Chris ? ?

So you’re criticising someone for diagnosing it too early, then diagnosing it too early yourself? How about we wait for concrete updates from the club.

I didn't say orthopedic surgeon and specifically said the scan would not have happened.

There are people who are very knowledgeable about knees who can offer tentative opinions who are not specialist surgeons. For one thing, Bradley probably needed the knee immobilising the correct way so I would have been amazed if a medic who has a thorough knowledge of knees had not seen him before midnight.

Rothwell had a couple of quite games prior to last night but I wouldn’t have called him poor last night. Not unless there were 8 or 9 abysmal players with him.

So bad we’re we that Walton was easily a contender for MoM. Travis being awarded it was a bit ‘meh’.

I think thats a little generous, to be fair many werent far off abysmal and I would agree on Walton, a few fairly routine saves made him MoM. Rothwell didnt stand out from the rest in a really poor performance.

I shared your opinion on Rothwell that he could be a key player this season and earlier in the season he wasnt played enough. Now he has got a run of games, would you agree that he has been a severe disappointment in those games and his lack of goals or assist in 20 appearances, 9 from the start is not acceptable?

Armstrong was crap yesterday and I have been of the opinion that Rothwell is the better out of the 2. Recently I have wondered if this is me being mistaken. Both regularly are fairly absent in games but at least Armstrong does offer something in the way of goals and assists, 5 and 2 respectively.

Morsy helped him on his way. Not at a foul in the strict sense but an un necessary act. I've seen Shearer do the same thing to centre halves when they've gone to head a bouncing ball out by the touchline.

Rothwell tried and make things happened.

You are obsessed with stats.

If it were this it'll be the rest of the season and a repair- the diagram also misses of the medial meniscus which is always torn - odonohues unhappy triad- however he was holding his antero lateral compartment which could be extensor mechanism - await the MRI !

Worst player for us to have injured. i would certainly take the 6-8 weeks though compared to the rest of the season.

We do have Holtby but he is more creator than goalscorer so we would have to rely on others around him to up their game, ie Arma, Rothwell or whoever else plays either side of him. it is either that or going two up top or somehow finding a replacement (perhaps even a loan).

The thing is if he hadn’t been injured, he may well have been sold. So we loose out both ways. Lets get on with what we have got, and maybe strengthen or weaker positions.
