You can always go to Facebook, and log on to one of those boring, puritanical, far left pages where people discuss whether competitive sport has a place in a 'true Socialist Utopia', whilst declaring yourself a vegan and teetotal.

Thanks Donald.

Thanks Donald.

As in Trump? That is rather inaccurate when commenting about my politics. I am a socialist of a medium strength, and I was using an argument put forward by Mark Steel in Vive la Revolution about how some socialists can be so serious, po-faced and humourless and never have fun. The world is not monochrome, and never is political theory.

It was a joke. Just like yours was (?)

Again then, you’re worried about a lot of stuff you imagine might happen.

Meadows you are entitled to your view but JHR has outlined a very real fear for a lot of us . The assumption that this lot will continue to throw money at it for eternity simply wont happen. The likelihood is that they will cut costs/sell whatever they can to cover the spend and avoid keep having to chip in from their own pockets. None of that is imaginary and the consequences  of cutbacks are beyond dispute and wont in any way be good. Last years accountants visit suggests that the position is already under very close review and the days of chucking more cash at it and gambling  is unlikely in the eyes of most of us.

One thing having a punt from a zero start but when your starting at minus £150million  as Venkys now are , that's will be an entirely different ball game.

Nobody is allowed to think in such a structured way - we are just guessing at what happens next according to many or are just doom merchants.  Its not guess work per se, its going off history. We could all be wrong and they pump in 20 mil next season (id bet my house they wont).

Can anyone think of any positive season under Venkies than this one? No, and its two leagues lower than we started, just as it was one league lower not so long ago.

I fear for my football club if we do not go up. its that simple.

True - positive in the sense that we have the potential to actually move forward

Positive in the sense that personally I have for the most part, enjoyed watching Rovers this season.

Exactly right.

Due to events in India, Venky's share price is up 1600% over the past 2 years.

They are obviously in a very strong financial position at the moment which may explain their relative benevolence towards Rovers recently.  However,  as a business,  Rovers are still a mess and should  the situation in India change and Venky's profits drop to previous levels they will have to tighten their belts again. They won't throw good money after bad when they are not quite so flush. What happens then is anyone's guess. They won't be sentimental about things.

That's why people are justifiably worried about the future. The lack of any communication from the owners doesn't help either.

We can all enjoy the football on the pitch when the team is winning but the shadow is still hanging over us. That's why people worry.

Doesn't bother me. We have a CEO and a manager to do the communicating, but most importantly the players on the field

The only conceivable way I could ever see the owners come out of the woodwork is if we got back to the Premiership, even at that, I am not sure the reaction from fans would be majorly positive

After all the mentions he does about preferring being close to his family etc I doubt Ipswich will appeal especially as the budget there is probably only the same as at Rovers these days.

Looks like Mowbray might be headed to the championship even if its not with us next season as he's joint favourite for the Ipswich job.

That could be a good situation for us if true. He can go for it big time all guns blazing  knowing hes got a job whatever the outcome this season.

The very mention of Charlton Athletic sends my stomach into turmoil.  All season I have had a very irrational foreboding that the Addicks will be our nemesis. They will stop us going up.

I hope against hope that this stupid fear is all balderdash.

We’ve had a good record there in recent seasons. Nothing to fear.

It really is infuriating. I have been hanging on before booking our train and now it's going to be three weeks before the game when we know. And Sky Sports Head of Football would like to thank the fans for their flexibility.

A tosser who probably has never paid to watch a game in his life.

Race for play offs last season was a race to play weakened sides & avoid Huddersfield. Might be tighter this time. But Rovers at Charlton could be a clincher...echoes of 1958 etc...

My Grandad told me the tales of that day. Nail biter extrordinaire.

They should thank fans by subsidising travel.

Then again maybe the morons who caused (and would cause) trouble on the train ‘specials’ are the ones we should be thanking.
