This window is absolutely crucial and going in with knee jerk reactions on recruitment could be an absolute disaster.

Better to take some time and get it right.  As far as I am aware, we have not lost any potential signing due to the wait unless you consider the guy Bolton have just signed, forget his name, a missed opportunity.

Have patience.

Would be nice if there was a bit of speculation all the same.Sick of reading the same old stories in the telegraph every day

Every club needs a guy that has made a career out of pretending to be able to play football? I mean fair play to him, he must have made the most money relative to talent in the history of the world, not just football. I’ve never been a fan of sucking up to superiors, but Lowe has proven that it has its merits.

I agree.

To clarify I was taking the piss out of a comment Gav made about Jason Lowe and how unappreciated he is

I for one thought Gallagher was great. Useful in the air, great pace and all attributes needed for a striker. 11 league goals in a relegation team not bad. Him and Armstrong could be deadly. However I don't think we can afford either. The going rate for promising strikers is too high for us.

We need to hold on to Graham for one more season. Can't count on Samuel or Nuttall to deliver in the Championship which leaves us very thin upfront.

I thought Gally was a decent player with potential. I'd love him back at Ewood. Not sure where the stuff about his heading has come from, seems like another BRFCS myth! Cracking header against BCFC. Nailed on penalty too that we didn't get.

The team that day:

Blackburn Rovers (3-4-3): Raya; Nyambe (Conway 45), Ward (Emnes 67), Hoban; Feeney (Joao 45), Lowe (capt), Akpan, Williams; Gallagher, Mahoney, Bennett.

Raya, Nyambe, Williams, Conway and Bennett the only ones left. I think we'll be a lot stronger this coming season in the Champ

Think you missed the point, as a professional football club (despite Venky's best efforts) thought it would be taken as read that we would sign footballers.

Nothing wrong with tradesmen was one myself :)

Although I do think Venky's missed a trick, they could have offered semi pros contracts and tell them to make up the rest of their wages by doing foreigners in the afternoons after training, obviously their friendly just like family agent mates would still take the full commission as if it was a pro player

I didn't miss the point. I understood what you were saying but was feebly attempting to be amusing.

Sam Gallaghers cursed I tell you , relegated with MK Dons , Relegated with us and very nearly Relgated with Brum .... Stay well clear ?? seriously didn't think he was too bad but I wouldn't want him back I'd rather we give Graham the 2 year deal he wants , sign Armstrong permanently then look to get a Ashley Fletcher , Jerome Sinclair or Callum Wilson on on loan , someone hasn't quite made it in the Premier league for one reason or another but still has the hunger to play there

Callum Wilson?! Once he's fully fit he'll be starting for Bournemouth. If they were getting rid he'd have suitors in the bottom half of the prem/top half of the championship. Neigh chance we'd be able to get him or pay his wages. Fletcher or Sinclair possibly though, I agree in the sense we should be looking to get a young pacey forward in. A more evolved Samuel basically.

Jon Flanagan anyone? Released by Liverpool and still only 25. Can play right and left back if I remember correctly.

If he got off the booze and out the casino's and got himself back in shape then he'd be worth taking a chance on. Wonder where he'll end up ?

Could we afford any better though JAL? I don't personally think Gallagher is a bad player at this level. I certainly wouldn't object to him coming back.

This where I'm expecting Venkys to show their financial commitment and not on ploders like Sam Gallagher.

Did you see much of him at Birmingham or are you basing the opinion on his time here? Thought he was ok enough here

Mowbray discuss Contracts for Graham and Conway plus new improve contracts for Lenihan and Dack

What do people reckon with these new contracts? I’d guess at payrises for Lenihan and Dack, potentially their agents looking at release fees inserted. Graham holding out for two years, maybe even testing the waters for another club offering similar remuneration as us but for two years. Conway offered a lower wage for a bit part contract due to Whittingham taking the role of well paid midfielder that time has caught up with.

Saw the released list. A bit left field but how about the Korean Ki from Swansea and Lee Chung Yong? They struck me as hardworking and have some skills, albeit some time ago that I saw them play. Lee seems like a winger.

Ki could definitely do a job for us, surprised he's been released tbh, though like you I haven't seen him for a while. Only 29 thought so not like his legs have gone.

We need to be making sure Dack and Lenihan get what they want and not bothering too much about Graham adopting a take it or leave it stance  imo.

it's ludicrous to be offering Conway any form. of deal at all for me, he should have been shown the door along with Feeney.

Ki being linked with Milan, would be a good signing but will be out of our league. Lee would be a very good signing but his injury issues put me off
