Antonsson I wouldn't want back.

Armstrong I'd loan again to have a look at in the championship. If it HAS to be a perm transfer, no more than £700,000 with a sell on.

Boro kid I'd only loan. Not done enough for a perm deal as yet, and THAT injury.

Payne would only loan. Given TMs comments on him, I'd be surprised if he's back at ewood again.

I very much doubt you could get Armstrong for less than 3-4 million

Brentford couldn't agree a fee for Armstrong last summer. They pay more than us for players so I'd be surprised if we could afford him. Newcastle won't give him away if they are selling him to raise funds.

More to do with the fact he is unlikely to feature for them. Still, he will not be as cheap as some make out with todays prices. Reckon he will be around the 2 mil mark and for that money, id want somebody a little more proven in the Championship if it is a major chunk of our budget.

Said this elsewhere, but I think Chapman''s still worth a punt, provided his contract isn't ridiculous.Clearly has immense talent, the sort of player who with a good run and a bit of improvement can either be the difference in a team getting promoted, or at least can command a hefty price tag.

Obviously it's a risk that might not pay off, but when you're outside of the top flight, these sorts of players don't fall into your lap very often. Risk/reward is still in our favour imo.

Really? Not a great records in this league with Barnsley and Bolton.

Sam Gallagher on loan again would do me

I agree on Gallagher. Young, english goalscorer at a premiership club with today's market rates I'd say that 3 million would be a minumum. I personally think he would be more if he was for sale

Regarding Armsrong I'd want to know what system we're intending to play him in before I'd splash out serious money for him. If we intend to play  a £ 2 million pound player out on the wing then I'd want a genuine winger for that sort of dosh.

Heard you the first time :) But I agree.

If we were playing two up top as our main formation I would like him alongside Graham. If he is going to play in a 3 behind Graham, surely we can find somebody more specialised there for that kind of money.  I am kind of hoping we will just grab him on loan again as we can see how he does in the Champs and if any good, pick up a bit cheaper down the line.

But if he is capable of playing on the wing and also as a specialist striker then surely that makes £2m a bargain in this day and age.

Is he capable of putting in a meaningful performance out wide or is he just loitering ?  We aren't in the " £ 2 million bargain " market anymore. Certainly for bit part players. We'll be lucky if that's our total " War Chest ". Anybody coming in for that sort of money will have to have the same impact as Dack did last season.

I agree that we aren't in that market anymore. My point was if that is what Armstrong would cost then I think it is a bargain for a player that offers variety in where he can play. Would love him as a loanee, but if there is the money stashed in Tony's suitcase from India then I wouldn't quibble at £2m for Arma.

Goalscorer? At the level we are going in to, hes scored 18 in 107 so im not sure how hes warranted that tag.

I'm leaning towards the same. He produced in the first half of the season, and bagged several important goals for us, but after his injury, he came back a non-entity. I suspect he'd look to move here, but I think his demeanour doesn't work in his favour. Players who are slow off the ball and don't put in hard challenges don't go down well at Ewood.

The fact Leeds, a club we should be aiming to compete with do not want him after splashing a couple mil on him should tell its own story. They want him off the books and he hardly pulled up trees in L1, netted a few goals in the beginning but did not do much else.
