He got a big hand to it, its basic goalkeeping to tip it out of the danger zone rather than back into it.

He doesnt instill confidence. Has good reflexes and is very young but lets not pretend hes not partial to a mistake.

Raya in the main is fairly highly rated so your "scapegoating" line is rubbish. If players do well they get praised, if they make mistakes they get criticised.

He couldnt tip it around the post did very well to pull off the save.

Doesnt instill confidence? Im the opposite camp then.

I would expect a young keeper to made the odd mistake tho pal. But I'm pleased we gave him a proper chance and he took it with both hands

Agree to disagree. It was an average save but considering the hand he got on it, you have to tip it round the post or to the side. You have lower standards cleaely.

So he instills confidence in you, yet you agree that he makes mistakes due to being young?

I never said otherwise, obviously he is very young for a keeper. He has improved somewhat but he still makes more than an average amount of mistakes for a Championship standard keeper in my opinion.

Goalkeepers not really a position where you want a raw youngster so hopefully his improvement will accelerate and he will cut the mistakes out.

Well I disagree it was an great save. I'm standards have not been lower at all so that is a load of rubbish.

Young keepers, older keepers and even the best keepers made mistake in games.

Most championship keepers make mistakes

The second goal wasn't his fault at all, make a very good save and nothing to be blame for IMO.

Well I was agree with another poster who suggestion some Rovers fans need a scapegoat and I agree with him.

and I don't agree with him being very error prone either

Who the hell is making Raya a scapegoat? You dont half go to extremes Chaddy!

All keepers make mistakes, but the better the keeper, the less the mistakes. Sadly at the moment he makes one too many.

Still think Raya will become a top keeper but I am not going to ignore his weaknesses. This is what really does my head in on here sometimes. You are not allowed to point out when players make mistakes without being attacked for being negative. One poster went over the top about he needs to be replaced and suddenly Raya is a scapegoat.

This is one damn opinion.

End of the day, Mowbray made the decision to make a then 20/21 year old his first choice - as good as he is, it’s very young for a keeper.

So, unfortunately we will see him make mistakes, the Blackburn Rovers of old would probably still have him out on loan somewhere, but we aren’t that club anymore and we will just have to watch him develop whilst in the first team.

Unbeaten teams in the Championship:

Aston Villa, Leeds, Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest..........Blackburn Rovers.

So, with the bookies at beginning of season, basically 4 of the favourites for the top 6, and a relegation candidate.

Can't argue with that start.

didnt realise forrest were unbeaten, they havent looked that impressive so far though. losing at the minute at home to brum.  some teams in the leauge picking up surprise wins,   bolton started very well as did wigan but both lost today to teams weaker (slightly?) then they have beaten

its why i love this leauge anyone can beat anyone, i would much rarther be in this leauge then just about surviving in the prem, but alas we need to money from the prem to maybe get rid of venkys

Good game. Mahoney came on and did nowt.

Cant help but feel sorry for him, I think if he hadn’t been ill advised at the time then Mowbray and this team could have got a decent player out of him and been one of last years heroes. With the club he supports to boot.

No win for Reading or Ipswich so far. Not surprised by Ipswich struggles. Hurst has bought from League 1 and 2 clubs and the market he knows. Everyone said they struggle this season and they are. No point sacking Hurst as the point is with the owner and lack of investment.

Shows that you was too quick to belittle Mick McCarthy and the excellent work he did there.

Hurst has spent some money on Nolan, Nsiala, Edwards, Harrison and Jackson, money McCarthy wishes he had.
