and we didn't get the players in we needed despite the fact we've had all summer to try to do so.

Bottom 4/5 squad.

The squad is good enough to stay up Rev, particularly with a loan or two before the end of the month and staying up is the only aim this season.   Bottom line is nobody knows what the budget is, who we've been after or why deals have failed to be done.  The players mentioned on this thread may not have been of interest to Mowbray so he's hardly missed out on then.   Glad that Mowbray hasn't paid over the odds for players in a market that is inflated beyond belief.  One or two loans gives those players the chance to prove their worth before we actually buy them.

For £5m I’d prefer it if we had heard of him. Or that he was more than a 19yo ‘prospect’. The English Premium?

This doesn’t feel like ‘good business’. Not if Dack was £750k.

Seems an awful lot of money.

It certainly does seem a lot of money. I personally don't believe it.

Or those players prove their worth too much and either get brought back by their parent clubs or sold on to a club who can pay a higher transfer fee and pay bigger wages

Forgot to add the tweet. already sorted.

I actually meant, he said"that was it for permanent signings today"

That is the kind of thing said after one or two have come in...not after signing absolutely nobody.

Marvelous

Wouldnt be that bothered if Tony hadn’t talked about 4/5 new players after Armstrong.

Exactly this. Mainly Rich Sharpe, Bayes etc. yet we didn’t get even one more over the line after Armstrong. Seems to me we’ve waited until the 11th hour to put in bids for players that we’ve had no chance of getting. What have we been doing for circa 3 months? Very disappointed and underwhelmed yet again. Oh well, our powder will be dry for January when we’ll likely be up shit creek after Graham gets crocked.

Bottom line, we've signed no one.

Why does it feel like you're enjoying this a little too much?

It is slightly disappointing but the time to spit your dummy out is if no meaningful activity occurs before the end of August.

Lots of people seem to be talking about today as if that's it for transfers 'til Christmas - clearly this isn't the case,
