4-1 to Chorley.

Chorley were losing 1-0 at half time, then they steam rolled Altrincham in the 2nd half. It was mentioned that there was few Rovers dotted about yday. These forums are priceless for advertising offers ect for smaller non league clubs.Hope the lads and lasses who attended yesterday enjoyed there experience and return next time Blackburn Rovers no 3pm kick off

Was around 1973/74 when we played Altrincham in the cup 0-0 at Ewood and 2-0 to Rovers in the replay with goals from Don Martin and Kit Napier if I remember right. It was an afternoon midweek game the replay. I was at school in Altrincham then and the entire school shut early so all who wanted could go to the game. Had a lot of ribbing after the first game those goals shut em up

All I can recall of the home leg is a packed Darwen End and Altrincham hitting the bar quite late on.

Can remember Sir Roger Jones keeping us in the tie in the first match

Neil Wilkinson was sent off in the replay for retaliation as I remember. It happened right in front of where I was as he kicked out following a late challenge. I think Altrinchams captain was Blackburn born and bred and worked for the council. I think Lenny Dickinson was his name.
