I never tire of telling that story. Almost on a par with the thick Dingles turning up on a barge outside the moorings, thinking that they would retain the element of surprise at that speed.
old darwen blue
And I’ve got a cracking story about the 300 who got off the train at Rishton in 2001 which I’ll relate when I see you next pal!
CP Company Lad
Not the sharpest tool in the box. Years ago arrangements had been sorted for a meet at a pub in Hunslet about 2 miles out of Leeds City Centre. Quiet boozer near an industrial estate. We say we will have 40 there. No hangers on or gobshites. OK they say. Night match this. Anyway they leave on a coach mid afternoon and stop off in of all places Headingley and they get wrapped up after getting lively in one of the pubs. Excuse was they thought it was walking distance from Headingley to Hunslet
