No blame attached to Rovers but already pre season is in disarray. With Bury in such a chaotic state I wonder if that might be in doubt.

Good shout Tyrone by the way.

Things aren’t going all that well are they?

I’ve been saying it all along, I fear we’re going to be undercooked going into this season. Can’t go into a season playing non league, div 4 teams and rangers reserves. Surely.

With Rochdale pulling the plug I hope we can get a decent work out elsewhere.

I suspect they'll play it at Brockhall but we won't find out until after it has happened. Neither side will want to lose a friendly at this stage as 6 is the magic number. Not many teams play less than that.

But as you say, playing a side Bury have dragged in off the street, non league Barrow, possibly a knockabout on Brockhall with Rochale, Mansfield of division 4 and Rangers 2nd string isn't exactly impressive or likely to be very testing ahead of an important season.

Playing Everton and Liverpool didn't seem to help us much last year.

To be honest I'd a very good idea the game was going to be off a week before I posted that. The state of affairs with the pitch at Rochdale is a shambles. They go through groundsmen like we used to go through managers. The latest one was fired under circumstances I can't reveal on here.

Why would you say that then?

Give us a clue.

Seeding the pitch himself?

We had a really good start to the season hitting the ground running. Form dipped after that but it's far better playing some team better than us rather than some inferior team.

I associate a lot of blame to Rovers. Our pre season is the result of unambitious and lazy organisation on behalf of the club. It appears no thought or effort has been put into the fixture list, with two arranged against clubs who are unlikely to or cant fulfill the fixture.

I'm not sure how problems with Rochdale's pitch could have been foreseen although I take your unambitious point.

Presumably their pitch work was planned some.time ago and people on here were raising it as a major concern a few weeks ago. Therefore there was time to call it off or arrange an alternative. Also known some.time ago were the rugby fixtures that seem to take priority judging by Rovers' website.

The Rochdale game is Saturday at Brockhall but at the minute is behind closed doors, there has been a 2nd game added this week which is Leeds at (Thorpe Arch) Leeds training ground this Friday, this to is behind closed doors

Presumably playing half the squad in each then, or perhaps a younger team at Leeds given it is unusual to play a league rival pre-season?

Think Leeds are away in Austria so will likely be one for the kids left behind.
