If it is, it's a stupid rule. I don't think politely telling a ball boy to stop acting like a little shit, should warrant a card of any colour. I don't think telling him it in a non-polite way should either. The ref should have punished the ballboy for time wasting initially.

Leaving the technical area is a breach of regulation. That is why he was yellow carded, not for anything he said to the ball boy. His continued protestations earned him the red card.

I think that the wide areas have been quite a weak area throughout the teams that Mowbray has played, and in terms of us "scoring plenty of goals,"  I would suggest that goal and assist contributions have been pretty poor from that area, and we have been incredibly reliant Graham and Dack (often assisting each other) partnership and from our former set piece specialist of a centre back.

well we will lack goal and assist contributions if Plan A is a long ball to Graham. That's well we need to develop a different style that make the most of our squad. We seen the impact of Downing from wide area.

It’s complete bullshit tbh mate. Whatever can be rightfully levelled at Mowbray, I have literally NEVER heard anyone in football refer to anything other than how thoroughly decent the guy is.

The drivel that spews out “you can just see Joe Rothwell doesn’t like him” the crap about Joe Nuttall being “let down” by him etc...if only they knew the truth. How much respect both have for the manager. In fact how much the group suffer if they think they’re letting him down.

Are his tactics always great? Does he sign brilliant players everytime? Nope.

The biggest criticism which stands mutually between here and and the club is that, if anything, TM is too loyal.

The annaihilation of the manager by some on here is embarrassing.

You are right about Mowbray being too loyal but we have seen him go away from this in recent months, with Mulgrew and Raya leaving, Smallwood and Evans out of starting 11.

That doesnt excuse the wide men not offering a goal threat, ultimately the main reason is the actual players chosen to play there.

The first type is defensive wingers, thankfully he seems to have moved away from choosing the likes of Bennett, Conway and an out of position Reed (the latter 2 have obviously gone) purely because they work hard and irrespective of an inability to aid attacks.

The second type of wide man he chooses is wide forwards, something he keeps trying now to little/no success. Gallagher, Brereton and Samuel have all played in wide roles, I think because Mowbray wants to give big signings for him game time but doesnt fully trust them, leaving them looking somewhat of a fish out of water out wide.

Good to see Chapman on the score sheet again tonight.

Well it does cos if it direct to Graham all.the time then wide players arent going to do well. Now with us playing differently now will hopefully lead to a better all round team.

Chapman not playing isnt down to lack of goals but down to his desire, passion, attitude and work rate. As people who are regular under 23's watchers have seen he has been poor.

When you factor in Samuel who was a relatively expensive signing for league 1, TM has a heck of a stinker of a record of signing strikers. Also given Bereton and Samuel failed out wide (although in fairness Bereton would fail anywhere imo) he's not really learning it's a tactic that doesn't work.

Mowbray not flawless. We do lose games through his selections, tactics and substitutions we should otherwise be getting points from.

But in a dirty industry of mega egos and prize shits I am deeply pleased we have a human being who fundamentally tries to be decent and do his very best as Rovers manager.

Mowbray is a welcome change considering the open sewer we had running through the heart of the club in all too many of the recent seasons.

I am grateful Rovers now look like a football club in senior management. Sure not of the calibre of Williams Finn and Hughes but what we have now is a blessed relief compared with the rest of this decade.

I am also grateful that I no longer shame for being a Rovers fan and can feel genuine optimism and excitement about approaching games and for the future of the club.

Mowbray is the football boss and just as the criticism stops on his desk so should the recognition praise and thanks for us being in a better place now, a much better place in reality, than I think any of us could have realistically forecast when he first walked into Ewood.

Absolutely spot on - two key things you mention that always make me wince to read criticism;

1. The expectation is this backroom teams doing. We expect, aspire to go upwards. It’s not long since I merely aspired a club.

2. The squad / team looks genuinely exciting, full of talent and potential. Not a top heavy, agent wage burdened mess. We may have wanted more from our 7m signing last year, but it’s only 5 since we likely paid Leon Best more to leave the club.

What TM inherited and what he’s got now - Night and Day.

Shame for being a Rovers fan? I stopped reading there.

Maybe that could be reworded as embarrassed. I certainly went through some dark moments visiting Ewood, reading the news etc.

Now it’s mainly optimism.

Never, ever I have been embarrassed by Blackburn Rovers.

The club was under occupation by nefarious people, but that in no way impacted my view of a football institution going back nearly 150 years.

I think you’re creating a strange hill to stand on here MB.

Going to Ewood was horrible, stomach churning, heart wrenching, soul wrecking et al.

Now it’s not. There is still a feeling of lament, but the horrible stuff has dissipated for me at least.

Exactly. I was ashamed of those fans who sat on their hands and watched these nefarious people do what they liked with our club - under the guise of “backing the boys”.

I was never ashamed to support this club.

Poor show Philip.

Yes it was compete shit. I was extremely down by it all. I hated the owners absolutely for what they were doing to my fantastic club. Ergo I was on marches, meetings, walk outs and the rest of it showing my ongoing pride in my club.

Yet you were embarrassed to be a Rovers fan?

To be fair Matty, there were thousands more like that than who joined us.

10,000 weren’t even there to watch Rovers, just PL football so in hindsight we were never going to get any help from them.

There were times on those marches when I was ashamed of Rovers fans who cared more about the F than the C.

Embarrassed by what the owners and the criminal negligence had done to our club.

Ashamed of the lack of culpability from footballing bodies and the support of shysters in the media.

Good to hear it. So just Phil then.

I think it says more that content that includes some level of praise will be ignored to criticise one word, and bring back old “mushroom” (not you) criticisms personally.

I remember well the first march from the Havelock to Ewood before the Arsenal match. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Only a few hundred turned up and the disdain we received around Ewood was alarming. We were told to get behind the team, the owners, Mean, we are not proper fans etc. I often wonder if it would have been different in thousands of fans had marched instead of pouring scorn on the ones highlighting the plight we felt was coming. How right we were.

One of the only true things Kean said was that only 1% of fans were protesting.

And that is what is why those of us who were fighting what was happening in 2011/12 are condescending to the griping of today.

That doesn't justify anything. We want the best for our club so what's wrong with criticism if somebody feels it's justified.

By the way the elephant is still in the room you know.

And we won...

Although ironically it probably kept Kean in the job longer. Had we lost, “fans” would have blamed protesters.

Also disappointing were the lack of numbers who took part in the walkout. That was a real opportunity to make our feelings known in front of the cameras. (And another point gained).

Should have got rid before season started, before transfer deadline.

We're now locked in not only with weak defenders but with a manager whose new style of football believes we can pass the ball out from the back.
