Can you remember the Bamber Bridge festival being banned by the Police around 1985 after a huge brawl on Morgans Field between the Briggers and the travellers running the fair? Carnage ensued with bottles baseball bats and chains. Obviously I moved away in 1990 but pretty sure its never been held since. 

Only place I can think of round here that doesn't have a summer event. Shame that. 

Also used to be mayhem at the Raft Race on the Ribble at the Shaws Arms/Bridge Inn with the Briggers and Townies.
