January transfer window 2020

Recommended Posts

All the mentioned aspects, Bell, Brereton ( fan abuse )...very wrong but.....these are merely symptoms.....the cause is Mowbray....an utterly dreadful manager .....week after week he drains a little more life out of our club......shocking, shocking Mowbray.....you sign , coach and select pitiful players...No. guts.. no hope

Decent strikers are really a rare breed. Since we've gone down the only decent all round striker we've had has been Graham. Rhodes was a phenomenal poacher, Gestede amazing in the air, King a speed merchant and under used. But a striker who can score goals, knit the play together and defend from the front are like gold dust.

A single decent striker can make such a huge difference. We really really need to find one.

Agreed. Look at Grabban last week - like chalk and cheese with our lot, save for a younger Graham. Keeps coming back time and again to that money wasted by Mowbray on two dollopers.

Yep agreed. Just taking about the long term failure of the manager to protect players. His recent failed Buckley experiment being another case

Bringing in young players is something of a poisoned chalice for a manager. If things don't go well they are criticised; yet, as we saw with Lewis Travis, if they perform well people complain the player wasn't in the team sooner.

Noticed Magloire who's on loan at Rochdale started at RB, had a bit of a torrid time, and was hooked after 30 mins.

That cant be doing him any good, being played out of position.

He was playing on the right hand side of a back three with a wing back outside him. Between the two of them they got a real roasting off the Newcastle left side players. It was brutal, they were chasing shadows. After 30 mins the manager subbed Magloire and brought on a right back so they could go with a back 4. Totally changed the game. Magloire looked like he'd no idea who he should be playing against or how much he should be helping out the wing back.

Hope we make a move for Brentford's keeper. Seems decent. Very good stats. Maybe he can bring his coach with him - he seems to know a thing or two about goalkeeping, too.

He'll need bedding in though and have to get used to our system.

It will not have entered their heads to attract a better goalkeeping coach....Much easier to get rid of Raya and hope !!!

Well we did and his replacement is pants or is the coach pants ???

Leutwiler actually palmed that " shot " into the goal and not away from it. As someone else said he should have thrown his cap on it.

Did i see something in the match day thread about Joe Hart it was I dreaming?

Well reminded!

I saw the same thing, meant to follow it up but I've been too busy despairing over our defending.

Edit: sounds like Harts going no where: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/18138012.sean-dyche-reacts-joe-hart-ben-gibson-speculation/

@Tyrone Shoelaces Ive seen you mention this Rochdale right back Luke Matheson in another thread, can you tell me why you were so impressive by him?

He's lightening quick for a start. He's got a good engine- gets up and down the wing without too much trouble. End to end runs are no problem. He can pick a pass and he gives it nice and early, rarely gets caught in possession,  reads the game well for a young player. Two decent feet, Most of all he wants to play and he wants to take the game to the opposition all the time. Very enthusiastic lad with a good attitude. Very bright and level headed off the pitch apparently.

Downside is he's not very tall although he does his best in aerial challenges.

He's been out of the team lately because he was being asked to do too much at such a young age  but the rest had obviously worked wonders for him today.

Before we get too excited United are in for him apparently.
