Bizarre that we are extending Smallwood.
That better not be extender further for next...

Just how many injuries in midfield are we expecting before the end of the season?!

Luke Brennan wanted by Leeds and Brighton, would suggest why he’s turned his contract down.

Not sure on Boyomo

Very odd isnt it? He didnt even make the bench when we could have 44 substitutes on it. Even if just to get to the end of this season - it makes little sense. Smells of the same 'out of loyalty' contract given to Ben Gladwin.

Why the fudge are we just handing money over to Smallwood, and Hart.

Also on the Scholars...

Brennan originally was offered a deal back in February (like the others who got announced today), but he was unhappy with the terms/years on the deal and feels he is deserving of what Isaac Whitehall got.

At this point I wouldn't expect him to accept less than 3 years and a decent (pushing £1k a week) offer. The Leeds rumours only help his case. Enzo, I have no idea why is unsigned, but is probably more attributed to Lockdown.

Sam Hart!

Currently behind Bell, Williams, Bennett, JRC & Downing for a game at left back, yet he's been extended another month, why?

Can see Graham, Downing & Samuel all being offered deals for next season.

Mental. At least Smallwood has played at this level. Absolute madness.

Not that I would have given Smallwood an extension either but I could see the logic in that. Hart never has been good enough, even at league 1 level, so why we have done that is beyond me.

I suspect the extensions to all those first teamers till the end of the season is a little bit of arse covering (Hart is an odd one but Bell and Williams are injured and Downing is better served elsewhere) but also a bit of TM's looking after his players mentality.

Can’t believe we don’t have enough midfielders in the U23s to not have to pay Smallwood (with money we don’t have and/or could have refunded fans). Sounds like more of the loyalty for past service.

It’s actually laudable that Mowbray looks after players and may be good for future recruitment.

HOWEVER... not when we are being told that ST holders asking for £60 to make ends meet, firstly, have to beg for it (where is their loyalty clause), and secondly, are told they are harming the club’s future viability by asking. Not letting Smallwood go at the end of June is worse from a financial perspective.

He will be number 2 at Rangers

Well if that's the case why move there?

I personally think Robert Sanchez on loan at Rochdale from Brighton, is miles better than Christian Walton.

What type of keeper is Sanchez? Has @Tyrone Shoelaces not mention him before?

Would Mowbray look to loan another 1st choice keeper next season? Or will he look at permanent signing as number 1 and 2 whether it free or low cash buy?

Possible loan options from Premier League clubs like Muric from Man City, Gunn from Southampton.

Or out of contract keepers like Karl Darlow who at Newcastle currently or Mark Gillespie from Motherwell. Or other choices from foriegn clubs.

Or other options who are number 2 at Premier league clubs like John Ruddy at Wolves or Simon Moore at Sheffield United or Jed Steer at Villa

Or keeper with Championship experience like Marcus Bettinelli from Fulham. Or WBA number 2 Jonathan Bond(suggestion by an article online I read today)

Plenty of different options and scenarios for Mowbray and his recruitment team to consider depending on budgets set by the owners.

Sickening really. neither even made the bench when we could have 44 players on it. Hart I can perhaps understand as he is young, cheap and might well be needed as cover at LB.

Smallwood will be on a decent wedge and has not featured all season while he sees out his contract. He is now given an extension when he is highly unlikely to feature. That is a punch in the face when ST holders have their heartstrings pulled by the club.

Nice lad, good to have around the place, helps with the bibs and cones.  Worth keeping around on 5-10 grand a week till he gets fixed up surely ?

After all it's not their money ?

Yes from media reports we had an interest in him but we need to wait to see what League we are in before signing any players

If we sign someone before the end of this season would you be critical because we should have waited?

No deals will be done for external players because Waggott and Mowbray will not have the authority until India has assessed and approved the next budget.

That won't happen until they go to India which won't happen until the season is finished and Venkys are willing to meet. If we get in the play offs another 3 weeks or more could be added by which time we will have lost any initiative or advantage over rivals.

Same old despite freak circumstances.

God help us if we did get promoted having to recruit for the Premier League with so little time.

:D As if you would!

Say Angus Gunn, who you seem to like, signs tomorrow, you’ll criticise TM and the club for getting good business done too early?

Is the transfer window in England open?
