a fine striker who was my idol,probably because  if you cut him in half he`d bleed blue and white and one who actually socialised with the fans,he should have played in a higher league tbh but the way

I can't think of a Don Mackay side that wouldn't spank any we've had in the championship since 2012. Even the struggling one that prompted Jack to get involved would draw at least with this one.

The pace they moved at would have us in complete disarray. How is it that, in today's game where fitness is such a priority, that the players can't match the standards of players that probably had a pre match pint.

It was a more linear game in those days, now it's more lateral. I've said before we ought to put the goals at the side of the pitch these days.  In that era when you got the ball in midfield you'd 4 players at least in front of you to pass to, now you've got 1. Having real wingers playing out wide made the pitch bigger when you had the ball. When they get the ball now the first thing they do is come inside or give back it to the full back. That just condenses the play.

Mowbray's teams take the ball stood still all the time. The team in that video were taking the ball on the run. That makes a massive difference.

I would agree with you that nearly all of the 1980s teams were better than the present side. OK ?
