And the British view of the Italian Government,  cos they've played a blinder haven't they cut and paste?

You've missed the point and didn't read the article. He was saying the British govt should have learnt from Italy's mistakes.

Where I work the boss has lodged a claim on behalf of the employees on the desk through the Federation of Small Businesses who have told him that it could be 6 months before he sees any money such is the volume of cases.

What's the point in that? Businesses will still be facing exactly the same cashflow issues as before. It may be that some very large businesses could afford to carry the loss until its sorted but why should they have to? They weren't the ones who made this promise.

Is 6 months correct because I've not seen a story on it anywhere. If true it's a stunning indictment of the government.

Can you imagine them saying we don't have enough, what the ramifications of that would be, political suicide TS, never going to happen.

The rest of the world are struggling for stock also and they didn't have Brexit to contend with.

Well it may make all the simple tw@ts who don't need to go out, stay in for a start.

Morgues are being requisitioned (if that's the right word) nationwide Gav sadly.

Chancellor has announced for self employed people a support package. Taxable grant of 80% of your earnings same as normal employed people.

Depends on your average monthly profit over last 3 years

You and your pals have been saying we should have followed the Italians and why were we 2 weeks behind them....the numbers suggest we should stick to our own guns and trust our chaps.

Meanwhile, Britain's dire situation with ventilators

Nobody who watched the interview with Zahawi on Newsnight last night can have been at all reassured

Here is what Matt Hancock said in a radio interview a few days ago: “We’ve made serious progress on that, there’s now over 12,000 that we’ve managed to get to.”

This is a government of liars, trying to bluff their way through a disaster. .

He said that you have to submit at least one year's accounts so you can't just rock up with a claim pretending to be self employed.

Broadly fair scheme but it seems very unfair to me that if you've learnt more than 50k p.a. for the last 3 years whereas there's no similar restriction on highly paid employees. Both should get it or neither.

He also insinuated that the self employed would have to pay more in things like NI in future so you could end up not being eligible for the scheme and having to pay for it in future. Not much reward for taking the risk of setting up going into business and providing people with employment.
