You really are trying, I’ll give you that.

In other news, very happy to see JRC given a start and Bennett remaining on the bench. What odds on Bennett being the first player brought on though!

Let’s hope we can continue to defy the odds and get another win today.

Trying what? As I’ve said mate none of us are even remotely important enough for our opinions to matter either way.

But yes, I do try very hard not to be a miserable bastard. Providing context helps.

That bench is appalling really isn’t it.

I wouldn’t have picked that bench either. Especially with Chapman, Buckley and Davenport fit.

Don't get this suggestion that a win today would be 'defying the odds' given that we're 8 points and 13 goals better than Middlesbrough at the moment. We need to go there with no fear, grab a win and then seriously start to believe that we can make the play-offs. Whether the current team have the cojones for that though is open to question.

At least the starting XI isn't garbage and it is only the bench we are unhappy with.

Very happy to see JRC start. Up to the lad to take it now.  Let's see how long till he can't.live without Bennett.

The best result would be that the starting XI play so well that none of the bench are required.

Didn't think I'd say this but Stewart Downing needs to calm down!

I think he probably feels he has a point to prove.

Sluggish start, mmmm.  Yup reflecting our upper echelons ambitions.  Could be ugly.

Great chance for Gallagher but he misskicked his shot. Great save from Walton after that

p.s. Another good Walton save

Hmm... Nyambe getting caught out a couple of times here. Needs to be stronger and more urgent.

Nyambe had lots of space to attack and did not, wonder why?

This game is made for a fast winger, Boro leaving so much space.

Good job we left ours at home then.

Last thing we need is another injury, particularly in the Rothwell/Rankin-Costello position. Get up, son!

He's up. Headband on. New shirt back on. Goal inevitable.
