Whilst brought in for the U23s, doesnt Dolan count as a summer transfer, given the impact he has already made on the first team squad?

given TM admitted he’d never seen the player play or heard his name, it would be very generous to let it count

True, but he ultimately ok'd it and has the trust in the U23 set up to go with their recommendation. it's also his decision to give the lad his chance and debut with the first team. From some comments I seem to recall, some appear unwilling to give him any credit for his handling of the young players.

The difference though is:

Warnock acknowledges the need for reinforcements.

Mowbray seemingly doesn't see the urgency.

Edit: "Warlock" Lol. Bloody predictive text. Maybe that's how he gets them in.

Warnock has been there 5 minutes.

Mowbray has had 5 windows.

Agreed, if both Ayala and Cunningham come here, with Kaminski thrown in too, it's one of our better windows in recent history. Big IFS though.

Told today that this is the plan, both being worked on. Optimistic.

Ayala deal didn't happen originally because Waggott and Mowbray think that if a player/agent tries to negotiate during contract "negotiations", then they have a bad attitude and get blue balled. (*Agent was also originally asking daft money/bonuses*)

Rovers are being very "take it or leave it" with contracts apparently this past couple of years... hence the amount of "near misses" we have experienced (Bauer, Reed, McGinn, Kipre etc).

Based on the 4 names there that we've missed, it sounds like a terrible way to operate.

We've got one. Wharton.

Need to get the first choice CB and LB in first before we start worrying about back ups!

I literally said we need a CB and LB. and Wharton would be the worst 3rd-choice CB in the league for my money.

I find it hard to believe they do that with everybody given some of the signings in recent years. Looks like it might be reserved for defenders and keepers.
