  1. No, not at Rovers, here on BRFCS. And it's probably not much of a shock either as it's no secret that Ste and I haven't had time to run the site properly for many years. It's also quite well known that we've come close to handing the site over to other people in the past, but it's never quite come off, but finally it has! You've probably noticed that through the News and the Podcast, Kamy, Josh and Ian have been doing an amazing job around here (whilst Tom, K-Hod, TB and Biddy have carried on doing their awesome work behind the scenes) whilst I've been transitioning into a new job for the second time this year. They haven't just "kept the lights on" like I'd hoped, they've actually revitalised the site in so many ways. So they've kindly agreed to make it a bit more permanent. Ste and I will now step back into the shadows once again (hah, like we've been visible much lately anyway), we're still around as advisers and we're continuing to run the legal/money/limited company side of things (their request not ours) but all the day to day decisions (and even month to month) are theirs to make now. We wouldn't be doing this if we didn't have utter faith in their abilities and their desire to keep the site a free community resource and to keep driving it forwards. I've got at least 15 years worth of Thank You's to do, but realistically, it's EVERYONE who needs a Thank You, everyone who keeps coming back day after day. So THANK YOU, everyone! I hope you all join be in welcoming your new management team, I'm off the Bahamas with my ill-gotten gains from the site*, though I'll still be around reading and hopefully posting a bit too! (* Don't believe the insinuations elsewhere, the site doesn't turn much of a profit, none of us have taken a penny out of the site personally and the new team has full access to the war chest we've built up over the years, so don't believe the "they only keep it running for the revenue" claims I've seen elsewhere, it's been a genuine labour of love. We promised Lee I'd keep it running and I've now finally found a team I think can take over that promise from Ste and I).

  2. A big thank you to you two guys for the great work you've done over the years. This site has been a brilliant resource for all Rovers fans home and abroad. Good luck and best wishes to the new management team.

  3. Thanks Glenn and Ste B, I may not post every day but I'm never off the site and many of us most likely take the service for granted. Much appreciation and thanks to all of you (past and present) who put in the work to keep everything going. Good luck to Kamy, Josh and Ian and the rest of the backroom guys going forward.

  4. Noticed that a fella called Ryan Grant is now writing the articles on the official website. Quick look on Twitter says he's our new 'Comms & Media Manager'. He's come from Man Utd, so let's see if anything improves...

  5. I may have missed the boat on this one, but I'd agree that the reason the programme is so poor is down to a lack of focus/communication from within the club, and probably the lack of anyone there giving a toss, I would imagine it is a nightmare trying to get info out of them in time for print deadlines. I bought one for the Burnley game, and won't bother buying another this season. And as others have said, I was really impressed with the quality and content of the Rochdale programme. I worked as the graphic designer on the Rovers programme from '98 (1st: pre-season friendly vs PSV) till 2005 (last: Tony Parkes testimonial) as a fan it was a pleasure to work on, I visited Brockhall, the media centre at the ground 'Drumhawk' it was called, for some strange reason, and once spoke to both Graeme Souness and Brad Friedel when they rang to alter their columns. I always put in the effort to make the programme the best I could in both design and content - sometimes researching info myself to put in, but sadly that seems to be missing now. It is a pity that some of the Radio Rovers staff could not have been retained in some capacity on this perhaps - or the club try to recruit Rovers supporting / locally based media agency to take this on board?

  6. Im a relatively 'new' poster but have been reading the site and the forums for many, many years now and it has always been my go-to to gauge fellow fans opinions. Can only say thank you to anyone that has contributed to the site over the years, especially you Glenn and Ste B. Good luck to the new team!

  8. Good stuff! Having been mod alongside K-Hod and Tom, I'm certain the site is going to be fine. You've done a great job Glenn and Ste!

  10. Many of the programmes that United produce are sold straight to dealers all around the country who then sell to avid programme collectors. There is still a huge demand for the 'traditional' programme and, of course, vintage programmes - pre-1950 - can fetch hundreds of pounds and in some cases thousands. Rovers programmes from the forties often sell for a few hundred quid each. Somehow can't see anyone paying that for an app.

  11. Interesting point K-Hod. The doc gave me a prescription today but instead of the paper version he sent it electronically straight to my chemist. I said to him that it seemed like a very efficient service. "Don't bet on it" was the reply. Sure enough, I went to the chemist and when I asked for the prescription I was told to come back tomorrow - the computer was down. So much for technology!

  12. Coconut Grove, Toffs, a 'smoke' in the Cathedral grounds, then bouncing into C'est La Vie feeling like king of the world! Hazy, crazy, daze They always seemed to be playing Sympathy for the Devil. Think I saw the New Fads at International 2 round the same time,1990-ish.

  13. Commercial Rain was another belter. Saw them above Cest la Vies in town a long time ago - slide show as well! Also at Manchester international 2. What a venue that was! The walls were leaking. I also saw Motorhead there around 91. Happy days. RIP Mr Gill.
