  1. I was with you until you mentioned Burnley

  2. I think you have possibly answered the question for yourself in this post and the several which follow it. I live near Chorley, have friends who support Chorley and the majority of local football fans will keep an eye on their results and how their season is progressing. Some, including myself, even go to watch a game from time to time. Similarly people have an interest in Stanley to which you can add there is a touch of "romance" associated with the club. I've a passing interest in several other clubs for varying reasons; Wimbledon (of old), Charlton, Yeovil, Aldershot Town, Hereford United, York City, Blyth Spartans. Following the exploits of Colne Dynamoes was always fun. I'd hazard a guess the vast majority of fans are similar. I can see why you wouldn't appreciate or understand this. If Stanley go up I won't be celebrating wildly but I'll smile quietly to myself, feel pleased for their fans and appreciate how they feel. It's what football fans do............

  3. League 1 is way above Jason Lowe's level.

  4. Amazing how out of all of them Danny Guthrie couldn't get a contract in England. I'd say he's one of the better technical players on that list but unfortunately couldn't get fit. How Hopeless and Lowe got contracts in the Championship is beyond me and it's of no surprise both clubs they are at are fighting relegation.

  5. A perfect season for me would see Rovers promoted, the Under-23's promoted, Stanley to win League 2 and Burnley to finish in the top eight of the Premier League. If nothing else it would show those who seem to think that football success is the preserve of the big-spending city clubs that the traditional town clubs are still here and still achieving success.

  6. Shocking, but to be honest I'm just pleased that it's not us.

  7. Lowe will assumedly be released from Birmingham in the summer. I pray to any and all existing deities that we don't end up bringing him back.

  8. Frustrating that they've less points than we have from same number of games, also lost almost double what we have and scored less/conceded more. They've got promotion virtually wrapped up with 7 games spare whilst we could well need to win another 5 or 6 to secure it.

  9. Only if you see them as relevant. I regarded fixtures like Rovers v Leeds, Rovers v Newcastle as big fixtures in the Championship especially with all 3 being leading Premier League clubs not too long ago. What relevance are Accrington (in comparison to say Walsall or Gillingham) other than being closer in distance? In L1 this season I considered the biggest fixture to be Wigan but nothing to do with them being in the NW. Guess I'm being arrogant and possibly still stuck in the 90's for not having any interest in Accrington whatsoever.
