  1. Reach for them stars Tony lad! “Where does it stop? It probably stops, hopefully for us, just outside the top six of the Premier League and there’s no reason why with the infrastructure this club can’t get back to the Premier League and not be a team fighting to get out of the bottom three. “At this moment, the top six have money the rest don’t have but I don’t see why Blackburn Rovers can’t get to a stage in the near future where they can compete in the Premier League with 14 clubs to stay there and be competitive.” “There are some success stories around us, and with all due respect if Burnley can achieve the season they are having in the Premier League then I’m very sure Blackburn Rovers, if we can get it right on the grass and create the right environment and culture around the football club then there’s no reason we can’t be competing with them.”

  3. A great conclusion to a very successful season tonight at the Hawthorns. Nuttall got his goal to be leading goalscorer and Danny Butterworth returned after injury to give a sparkling performance when he came on in the second half and scored a terrific goal. Man of the Match for many was Jack Evans who was outstanding playing as left wing back. Damien Johnson and David Dunn have done a terrific job with these lads this season and deserve a huge amount of praise for their efforts. Undoubtedly the best crop of youngsters we've had in a long time and Damien and Dunny have got the very best out of them. The Under-23's have been a joy to follow this season.

  4. We've got Dack in attack, we've got Bradley Dack! The original song is a banger as well, this is the tune if you didn't know it. Dack tune is too the chorus.

  6. I'm clearly out of my mind then, the lucy in the sky with diamonds don't help admittedly! I accept Dack is a good 'un but he started the season slowly and has dipped in and out of form of late. He will probably be most fans' choice for player of the season but how would Bradley have reacted if he'd been asked to play full back or in defensive midfield for the good of the team? Bennett for me exudes everything we would wish for in a Rovers player in the current era and shows total empathy for us as fans. He's been asked to play all over the shop in the cause and yes, he may have scuffed a cross or 2 but in general, his energy, commitment, drive, determination and willingness to play where asked for the good of the team and the fact that he has generally excelled wherever he's been asked to play with vigour, is why he'd be my nomination.

  7. From a player on the edge of the team who had never really locked down a place or looked like he had a prefered position, we now could do with 3 of him. He is arguably our best RB, CM and RW now. Add in his rallying of the troops and his fan interaction and he is possibly the 1st name on the team sheet these days.

  8. Funnily enough after embracing the "boring James Milner" character he actually became quite entertaining

  9. “Elliott Bennett, he plays where he wants” But no, he has no song. Graham for me. He’s been immense. Different class. Dack would be nowhere without him. A proper centre forward and imo a top bloke. Yes, he gets paid well, but by Christ, he gives a damn.

  12. Good post, I was thinking the same thing. Bowyer's first season was a little frustrating in that we kept coming close and then falling away, but compared to the previous few seasons under Venky's it was a huge improvement. Second season things started to decline slightly (and Bowyer did still have most of our better players during this period), and by the third season the squad had been stripped down to the bare bones in terms of quality. That's when tension began bubbling under the surface, and once that snake Coyle was appointed we were almost back to the Steve Kean era in terms of the supporters and the board/management/team being totally disconnected. Except this time there were a lot less people to put any pressure on. Mowbray has done well to put us back into an upward trajectory, but like you part of me is waiting for Venky's to screw us all over again. It makes it difficult to fully enjoy what's happening, although I appreciate that a lot of fans do seem able to completely ignore the past and live in the moment. I envy them.
