Until Mowbray changes his approach we won't progress. His approach is not to lose, he doesn't set out to win. Two DM's that never venture forward and '2.5 attackers' = not much fun at Ewood. Travis and Reed play together and it's 5 goals at home and no reply. He may well play the same team as against Derby tomorrow, but he'll revert to type at some point. He's just a very dull manager who plays dull football. Setting your team up to stop counter attacks instead of setting your team up to win the game is very Mowbray. Hopefully at some point he'll stop being negative and start being positive. Then we can all be positive, not just the fans that feel positive about his negativity.

In fairness for £1.75m Armstrong has been an OK signing. He still has a lot to improve on but there is some raw talent there, and he's contributed decently enough despite being played repeatedly out of position on the left wing. In fact I'd say during our January run of wins Armstrong was our most important player, with multiple goals/assists. Without that we might be looking at a relegation battle right now, so even though I've been critical of Armstrong in the past I wouldn't put him in the category of bad signing. For me our worst signings, Brereton aside, weren't who we brought in but who we offered new contracts. Those are going to become an albatross around our neck in the next couple of seasons.

I looked at Reeds celebrating Rothwell midweek and again on the club highlights channel, looked ecstatic I didn’t know whether it was a look of this is what we can do, show the faith type or generally just happily playing his football here. If saints stay up I’m not sure he’d be in their plans and I’m positive a top team failing to go up like a Leeds, Villa, Stoke, Derby type must be keeping an eye out. For me he’s a standout midfield player wise at this level who’s been criminally underused centrally and shunted wide half the time. He reminds me of a box to box player someone who can get back tackle, someone to bring a ball forward. No wonder his best games come in a 3 man midfield centrally where he’s not running for his partner I.e smallwood. A bit like our own Steven Reid/Gary Flitcroft type without the rocket, Steve sidwell type. Him box to box and a true Mokoena axe type behind and Someone to complement him with a bit more flair maybe Travis with his passing is the way forward. That said said I’ve stuck him behind 3 flair players with Travis centrally to get some width and creativity up top to cater for Graham. We need that stamina in the middle and drive. We ain’t going to beat relegated PL teams by either hoofing to Graham or triangles taka but we can be a steely team in the sheff Utd mode.

True but Shearer and Sutton have always had good things to say about the club and their time at Ewood imo.Both players spoke up about how Venkys were running the club and showed genuine concern...they have my up most respect for that alone. You get the impression they really enjoyed their spells in the old Blue n White as much as we did as fans.

He definitely does not have a poor touch, in fact ive seen him numerous times pluck a ball out of the air and stop it dead. Also, Alex Neil said after he came here that he had done so choosing us over Preston so thats not true either. I dont think hes offered enough and I think hed be better placed on the right rather than the left as he can use his pace to go on the outside. His decision making is a major downfall. God knows what Mowbray sees to seperate him and Rothwell defensively either.

Been linked with that job on and off for ages. Could be a spectacular success or horrible failure. He did quite well initially at both Spurs and Villa but then things unravelled. Helps when his mates Ferdinand and Ramsey are running things behind the scenes at QPR.

I think we'll be lucky if the club has even announced prices and selling periods by then, and yes I think actually getting them on sale is too much to ask. To me it is utter madness to not have them on sale by the day of the Swansea game at the absolute latest. No doubt we'll wait until that is out of the way and the season is over and then release them when many people won't be back at Ewood until August. I noticed on the Fans Forum minutes that Waggott said he expected prices to be announced later in April. That isn't the same as getting tickets on sale. For me there should be an early bird window which expires about now or late April, and then general sale is opened by the day of the Swansea game so that anyone attending that match has the opportunity to sign up whilst they are at Ewood, especially if that game is being treated as a cheap ticket day and there could well be people there who don't usually go.

In January we were within touching distance of the playoffs, if we’d spent the £6m on a few players at that point to help when injuries kicked in, then we could have still be contending at the top end. So blowing that money has had a big negative impact on this season.

Armstrong has been a great signing. Decent fee, good amount of goals and hasn't ever shown a sign of discontent or off field trouble. He's a steady little player with good potential for resale. He is one of Tony's better signings

You've only got to listen to the opinions of various ex pro members of the football panels to realise they aren't the fountain of all football wisdom. That's why dozens of managers get fired every year, they get more things wrong than they get right.

I don’t want opposition managers to tell us that Mowbray and Venus are good coaches. I want our football and results to be the judge of that. It’s all well and good calling things “negative rhetoric” to try to shut down other’s opinions but it doesn’t mean jack out in the “real world” where we’ve had two wins and one draw in 12 matches and the manager publicly states that he prefers the midfield line up that played in the 9 defeats. Stick to discussing the issues and stop calling people negative just because you don’t like “the truth” to be dealt with in facts.

The comparisons are as football managers. Mowbray was brought in just over two years to keep us up (his words). He failed. If he had kept us up, our position today is only marginally better than it would have been then. Therefore, our club has barely progressed. Tactically and player trading wise, there is hardly any difference between the three. Mowbray's comments and excuses, IMO, are now very similar to the desperate days of Kean and C o y l e. I don't give a feck about Mowbray's 'nice guy' image, his values or his wife's lemon drizzle cake. The bottom line is Mowbray is handsomely paid to improve and progress the footballing side of the club. IMO, we are now regressing, our football, in the main, is dire, our recent results have been appalling and the thousands and thousands of empty seats are an embarrassment. In my book he has to go and quick as I think we are going nowhere other than downwards.

Shame he doesn't have the first touch. At 24 I don't think he's going to suddenly develop immaculate ball control which the Davies/Graham roll requires. He really is a league 1 at best player.

I imagine that if someone had the ear of the owners, and whoever that is convinces the owners that he is a good signing and they stump up the money than that's how it would be the 'owners signing'. I'd say in this day and age Armstrong at less than £2 million is a bargain. It's only because Venkys have been so tight on funds over the last 5 years that one or two are raising eyebrows at it. Normally someone of his age with his background would be well worth spending that sort of money on. All it takes is a decent season in the Championship and he'll be worth much more than that. His background and price range are the sort we should be going for as a club - experience of where we are at with plenty of scope to improve and develop.

Conway and Bennett have enough between them to offer something both defensively and offensively, so good enough till Summer then upgrade both. Armstrong for Conway and Nyambe for Bennett. That might be our strongest team. For as frustrating as Armstrong is, his pace is terrifying and gives Rothwell and Dack the option to "drop balls" in behind for him.

Not saying that I've agreed with every decision he's made by any stretch, but to compare him to either of those charlatans, even pure;y on ability and not character, is absolutely ludicrous. Fair enough there's no room for sentiment, but it's literally just over 2 months since we were the form team in the division, he was manager of the month and we were hoping for a play offs. All this from a team which had just been promoted. He's not above criticism, and the last 2 months have been dreadful until the Derby game, but some of the hyperbole here is way over the top. Comparing him with Coyle & Kean is like comparing night and day.

He's an average manager pal he's been good for us so far up to a point and I hope he can rediscover last seasons mentality to drive it forwards a bit however his overall record in football is bang on average and at times you can see why clearly. I like the guy I want him carry on building the club from inside out but after 2 and a half seasons I know what i'm seeing and it has resembled his latter stages at other clubs. Don't get me wrong him being average is no bad thing compared to some of the dross/inexperience and outright clowns these lot have employed and made wealthy but he's facing a real test of his mettle now.

He's wrong in the fact that we failed to win any of the ten games Reed and Travis weren't paired though...and the two we won in the last dozen, they were - and we kept clean sheets ? I'm praying for a eureka moment from him.
