  1. As I said in the build up, I’m numb to rovers at the moment, nothing excites me about the team currently, from manager, first team squad, potential January signings, style of play. It’s all so... meh. Run of the mill, going through the motions. Season died when dack got busted. Mowbray is nothing, not inspiring or tactically astute. I am just struggling to get into it at all. Sounds like today was a reflection of my feelings. Need a change, the fans need a change

  2. I thought the first half was quite entertaining from a neutral sort of perspective, the second half was absolutely atrocious although perhaps the appalling weather didn't help. Still 2 very poor sides out there though. Gallagher today, good grief, it was embarrassing. I know he's out of position but he just doesn't show any willingness to get into danger areas when he gets the chance. He'll be lucky to score ten goals before he hangs up his boots. No wins in six now and without Dack I cant really see where the next win is coming from. Very worrying. Two things summed up the whole feel of the Mowbray regime to me, after Preston scored the ball was thrown back on the field and came to a stop on the edge of our penalty area. Our players should have been fighting amongst themselves to get the ball and sprint back to restart the game but the 10 outfield players were trudging back towards the centre circle with their backs to the ball. No one was remonstrating with or even talking to each other and no-one was bothered about restarting the game. At the other end, Walton was chunnering to himself a bit but again showed no interest in collecting the ball to restart the game. The second thing was the so called half time warm up which consisted of Bennett, William's and Rothwell standing in a little triangle a yard apart and rolling the ball to each other whilst having a good natter whilst elsewhere Chapman and one of the other subs performed some half hearted keepie ups. These players have it so easy its untrue and if anyone else says this manager or these players genuinely want promotion I'll scream. As Mercer says we need Mowbray gone yesterday if we're ever to progress but I suppose the apologists, Waggott and possibly the owners will look at the table, think we're only five points off the play offs and kid themselves we're actually in the mix. Depressing days.

  3. Maybe you could ask yourself why he is unliked by fans, you posted this in the summer mate saying you’d have got rid of him ??

  4. You saved me a post, so thanks! This always happens though. Evans has a few decent games and his average at best history here is rewritten like he's been some kind of maestro who we've been lucky to have all these years. There's a reason he's the only one of Bowyer's babes left here. Purple patches of form interspersed with multiple injuries and many, many games of nothingness obviously wasn't enough to ever catch anybody else's interest. Being one of our better players this season is frankly a low bar. Evans is far from our biggest problem but symbolic of our mediocrity and how that has been embraced and celebrated by many of our supporters.

  5. And that "referee" ought to hand in his whistle first thing on Monday morning. A disgrace.

  6. I'm beginning to feel a bit for Gallagher and become more angry with Mowbray for his crass stupidity and stubbornness in playing him out wide. He looks like a fish out of water and without a shadow of doubt has had his best moments down the middle. Mowbray is making a fool out of himself and Gallagher here. It's like he's trying to prove a point but is embarrassing himself. Into the game and I thought we were alright. On the balance of chances could have won against horrible opponents. Their players blatantly cheat and the weak referee allowed them to get away with disgusting tactics. I would put their manager in that category too. Our best player by a country mile was Downing who was excellent. His use of the ball was better than any player on the pitch and his performance belied his years. Some of our players would do well to watch how careful he is with the ball, hardly ever giving it away. Overall I feel disappointed not to have won but my dislike of all things Preston has intensified.

  7. If he wanted a winger, why didn't he spend £5m on a fucking winger?

  8. I think you Blackburn Rovers fans need to calm down a bit, your not a bad side in fact you have a lot of talented players. Ge behind your boys ... starting next weekk (of course) And no attacking us outside the mcdonalds again please it takes me all my energy to walk up that hill.

  9. Excellent performance by the Under-21's last night at St. George's Park - and what an outstanding venue that is. We really ought to have won by more than one and controlled the game for long periods. Joe Hilton was faultless in goal and looks a real prospect. The two young centre-back - Hayden Carter and Sam Barnes were outstanding whilst Brad Lyons ran the show in midfield. Stef Mols worked tirelessly - another impressive display by this lad. Quite how Lyons and Mols can't make the bench I find astonishing at times. It would be a real blow if these two lads end up leaving without being given at least a chance in a Cup game to show what they can do. Finally, what an impressive place St. George's Park is as the centre for our national game. The Hotel, the FA Building the floodlit pitches - indoor and outdoor - are all immaculate. It must cost a fortune to maintain it at that level but I suspect the hotel brings in a huge amount of money with the number of clubs that use it. The pitches were like billiard tables not a blade of grass out of place. An unbelievable place!

  10. Nonsense that needs to stop being spread about. BB’s been supported to the hilt, which shows the inherent fairness of Rovers fans who realise it’s a young lad, patience he wouldn’t have got elsewhere. A few dickheads at games and social media trolls do not represent a fanbase. But he’s been very, very poor and folk are free to say so on brfcs.

  11. I've only just got home and not read anything on this forum yet. But I just want to say to the sizeable number of Preston "fans" who were booing & jeering Evans as he was being carried off on a stretcher after being treated for nearly 10 mins flat on his back, that you are morons & an embarrassment to yourselves, your families, your club and your town, and you are not welcome at any other football match ever again.

  12. Not a single member of this mediocre Rovers squad excites or enthuses me. As somebody has mentioned we are moulded in the mirror image of our Manager. This club has always had hero's the fans can warm to...totally null and void right now.

  13. Taking the point, considering the injuries. We are what we are...a mediocre mid table side with a bang average dour Manager. Going nowhere.

  14. This is a shite PNE team. A good manager has us competing for automatic promotion with our squad. Mowbray needs to walk.

  15. Loves talking about Brentofrd does Mowbray “Brentford jumps to mind, they’re third in the league with lots of talented foreign imports, bought relatively cheaply, but if you look for what they sell for, buying and selling is their model, buy for £1m and sell for £20m." That's presumably why they thought Raya was a snip at £3m. Buy low and sell high is a good business model but you have to spot the talent first. Apart from getting lucky with Dack, where is the evidence Mowbray can add value with the players he has bought?

  16. I'll re-summarise that comment...what a bloody waste of a season!

  17. All stems from the owners lack of interest and understanding- No pressure on Mowbray from above, no pressure from Mowbray on the players. Truely going through the motions. We want our Rovers back!

  18. Not much can really be said about today’s game. But I’ll have a go... The team pretty much picked itself and there were no real controversies in the starting line up. The substitutions also picked themselves due to injury (is that another incoming transfer fee gone for a burton now?) and although I’d have brought off Gallagher not Holtby it had to be Graham who came on next. The only real gripes would be the continued and stubborn insistence on trying to get a tune out of Gallagher out wide and maybe having a more effective full back cover on the bench. Our problems are more deep rooted than just this game though, because of the squad Mowbray has assembled and his inability to play them correctly or motivate them. We have no bite and aside from the absolute gimme from PNE’s defenders (thanks) we didn’t really look like scoring. We need a goal scorers now and fast. Our over-reliance on Dack all this time to paper over the cracks of two failed big-money strikers has now been badly exposed. The fact is though that without a big change - a new manager, or a huge, and unlikely, talismanic signing - nothing is going to change. The referee. Oh dear, the referee. His one-eyed view of the decision making part of his job was evident from early on and he never got to grips with, let alone clamped down on, the PNE histrionics. Every marginal call went their way and many of the less marginal ones - incredulousLT - still went to them. It only got worse after the first chorus of “You’re Not Fit...” as he basically F.U.’d his way through that second half. Not a single yellow card for a Preston player despite some bad fouls (practically GBH on Evans and Johnson), persistent fouling, time wasting and diving (including simulation for the attempted-robbery of an early second half penalty - one worthy of being marched to the security office while awaiting the police on a charge of petty theft) says it all really. I expect our disciplinary record will be worsened after Paul Gallagher quietly removed the bottle of Lucozade thrown on and nonchalantly handed a coin or similar to the fourth official. The upshot of a failure to assemble a decent squad worthy of £20m of spending (astonishing really - money some clubs above us can only dream of) or to spawn a lucky smash-and-grab winner means we are now 5 points off sixth (while PNE are 2) - but which will become 7 and 4 respectively if Swansea beat rivals Cardiff at lunchtime tomorrow. Back to the drawing board but I expect we will just see more of the same for the foreseeable future. Over the next five games we play three teams who we are in and amongst and we don’t do well when the stakes are high. After a tough game away at Sheff Weds we could be looking up at both QPR and Boro, needing to beat both to stay in the top half of the table. All in all, it certainly wasn’t a stale game today and a neutral would have been entertained. However, we need to get a couple of wins from somewhere, fast, and I don’t know where they are coming from.

  19. I wouldn't that in my team. He a soft boy who is nothing than a cheat. Can give it out but soft as shit when it given. so you want a cheat in your team who drop to the floor when Gallagher did nothing to him? Ref wasn't strong enough today and he had been Preston wouldn't have got away with what they did time after time good for you. I have different opinion.

  23. The real worry to me about this referee was that he was almost oblivious to Prestons underhanded tactics which are, without a shadow of a doubt deliberate. I lost count of the number of times they stood over the ball to prevent us taking a quick free kick, tapped the ball away or actually run away with it and delayed nearly every restart. Bradley Johnson was assaulted and not even a free kick but his worst decision was when Armstrong nipped the ball from one of their lumps and his touch was a little heavy but he was caught and the ball just went out. It was a clear foul by the Nobber but because Armstrong was honest he didn't get the deserved free kick. Had he gone down he would have. That told me that the referee just doesn't understand game and his type of officiating will only encourage players to go down. Weak and inept doesn't do him justice.

  24. Nice touch when he ignored Neil and walked over to the Blackburn end and took off his jacket to reveal his named Rovers shirt. Even better, the photographer got a shot of him in his Rovers shirt in front of the JW, and he stopped her and got her to get a photo of him in front of the BBE as well. He absolutely loves this club.

  25. Hill's been having a rant at Bolton. I genuinely wonder what he could do with the budget Mowbray has here. This long balling a dwarf up front whilst sticking your 6'3" marquee striker signing on the wing is beyond ridiculous now. It serves nothing, never worked and never will chufing sick of this type of thing.

  32. More non existent reasons being made up as to why it's allegedly virtually impossible to bring people in. It's apparently difficult to speak to people to ascertain if potential targets have the right sort of character, and wingers are apparently "flightly mavericks". Whatever the hell that means. It's also stating the bleeding obvious but it's a player's talent that primarily determines his longevity in the game, not their character. If you haven't got the talent, you're generally not going to prosper - unless you're Jason Lowe or Elliott Bennett who seem to have conned a lucrative career out of the game off the back of convincing managers they're indispensable due to their character whilst in reality being an absolute liability on the pitch. Mowbray makes the process of signing players sound so complicated it's a wonder he can get out of bed in the morning and put one foot in front of the other if he finds everything else as difficult to come to terms with as buying and selling players. It's the ramblings of a man who has if you were being kind would merely say he has completely lost the plot, if you were being a bit more direct you might wonder if he was beginning to develop mental issues due to the pressure. Either way it's way past time he was put out of his misery. I wonder who in authority at Ewood reads the rubbish Mowbray comes out with and thinks it's ok? I also wonder if the owners either don't read what he says in print or with English not being their first language read it but dont quite appreciate how ridiculous what he is saying comes across.

  33. Thanks Parson. I for one really appreciate reading these reports and good to hear the positive feedback about our national centre too.

  34. I can only presume he thought they’d sell out so to stop tickets being bought in home areas. Then realised they weren’t going to get particularly close to selling out and he backtracked. Usual keystone cops stuff down Ewood...

  35. I don't believe it is simply a lack of confidence that is his problem. He is desperately lacking in even the basic fundementals of the game, such as ball control. TM keeps giving him chances so you desperately want to believe there is some hidden talent burried in there somewhere, but I can not even imagine what that would be.

  37. I would've thought that in hindsight almost every fan would realise what a decent player, excellent servant and class act Pedersen was. Same goes for Emerton. Never bad players, rarely bad games but often their consistent hard work went unnoticed. Those were the good old days and I'd have them back in a shot.

  38. He'd likened us to Millwall etc when we came up then in the last round of criticism he decided he was going to model us on Sheff Utd. When that wasn't working he switched to Preston and now it's Brentford. Buy low, play, sell high, certainly the moneyball will appeal to Venkys and more so their 'advisors' but it's been tried before here inbetween making it pointless by wasting tens of millions. Now for the love of god we have Mowbray saying it after selling our young keeper to them and spending 12 million on 2 underwhelming players !!!! The guy has either lost it of he's taking the piss it really is reaching that point now i'm beginning to suspect he also is just another stooge for whatever is going on.

  39. Never really felt we would win the game after we conceded the equaliser. Truth be told in the second half we didn't do enough in front of goal to deserve a win. Yes we had the better of it but nowhere near enough to force the issue against a side happy with the point. Preston a poor side but we knew that already. Another opportunity for revenge and 3 points after an awful Christmas passes by. 6 without a win and an away game next at a decent side. I warned about Preston's cheating ways and true to form they delivered. Tried the dive for a penalty but thankfully the referee wasnt having it. One of the few positives I can attribute to the officials today. Absolutely appalling performance from the referee who should be embarrassed to collect a wage after that. The worst of the lot was when Johnson was clattered by Stockley and went to ground holding his face. Not only did the referee bizarrely decide not to give a foul but also ignored the head injury, allowing Preston to attack and only stopping the game when we had come in to possession. To come out of that game with 2 yellows to their 0 has to be one of the most ludicrous things I have ever seen. The lineman in front of me succeeded in getting through the whole game without putting his flag up and spent half the game explaining decisions to their manager in the dugout. Sadly we don't seem to be a win at all costs team. We'll huff and puff and keep going to the end but we won't turn to dark arts or cynical play or be ruthless enough to snatch wins from these sort of games.

  42. If they are well drilled, even if they are poor players they will become greater than the sum of their parts. As we are poor and not drilled at all, our players will perform at a lower level than they can achieve. Basically, PNE will nick a winner shortly.

  44. CAN'T BELIEVE no Nob End player in the book. REF playing right into their hands with the spoiling tactics. Rovers definitely best side BUT I can still see us losing this one. I just can not see why Mobary persists with Gally out side, he's getting under Nyambe's feet half the time.

  45. or Genius ? Pre-game , Alex Neil "now lads keep your eye on Armstrong and Gallagher, Armstrong is small and nippy so obviously will be moving out wide and popping crosses in the box for the tall and strong Gallagher" PNE player"Are you sure that is what will happen Alex Neil "obviously only a fool would play a centre forward of Gallaghers speed and build on the wing and a three foot chap in the box"

  47. This is a guy who scored a fabulous last minute winner against the Dingles, and - arguably even better - scored twice at Old Trafford to beat a top, top Man United team. MGP is a very long way down the list of players who have 'milked' BRFC, not to mention 'going through the motions'. I'd love to think that this post is a joke. If it isn't you've just showed yourself up mate, big time.
