  1. The biggest influence on our recent form has been whether Nyambe plays at RB or whether Bennett plays there. Since the start of November: With Bennett at RB: W2 D0 L4 With Nyambe at RB: W5 D4 L0

  5. OMG even me as one the positive one couldn'imagine such a good and positive score and development... know some people would say that they played with 10 for a good part of the match but if they had one man down it was because of the offensive way that we started the match and if they ate 5 it was because we were superior from minute 1 till 90 + This is gaffers idea of football from us a quick game full of short and good pasess...thats what I've seen rovers ate trying to do all along this season but defenitly today was the day when everything goes perfect to us...i don't know if we are going o win for 5 another match again but i know that's the true level of my team...a team that can be fightig for promotion by the end of the season. About Tony ofcurse he has mistakes but had shown and still that he knows precisely what kind of football we can practice and achieve... This is a gift for all the away supportes and you you know what? you deserv it! Let's celebrate cockers and sup up some ales for our Rovers and your mexican Cocker aswell...! 8. Another stand out performance from Arma. He really has come on leaps and bounds in the last month, really repaying the faith TM has put in him all season.

  9. For me Walton - ? Had basically nothing to do. I guess 7? A couple of routine saves. Nyambe - 8 - skinned the opposing full back over and over and over again. Final ball a bit poor. Defensively majestic. Bell - 7 - decent outlet down the left, but average end product. Defended well. Lenihan - 8 - Physically dominated the defence and scored a goal. Tosin - 8 - defensively solid. Picked sensational passes through the middle. His role in the first goal was equally daft and brilliant Travis - 8 - Physically dominated midfield. Also showed good passing, and constantly can make himself a yard. Essentially scored a goal. His technical quality seems to improve game on game. I think destined for the Premier League. Downing - 9 - total and utter superb use of the ball. Great assist for Lenihans goal. Gallagher - 8 - best game for us capped by an excellent goal. Totally dominated his full back. Mowbray justified to play him right. Holtby - 8 - like Dack quite quiet but scored two well taken goals. Seems to have a similar "fox in the box" instinct to Dack. Plus similar quality on the ball. Looks a perfect replacement. Rothwell - 7 - had a couple of good runs, but struggled to make an impression. Silly yellow card. Feel really hes another number 10 like Holtby and Dack and will always struggle wide.... Armstrong - 9 - the guys magic. Will always create chances and score goals. I think will potentially turn into a 20 goal striker next season. Kind of reminds me of Josh King. JRC - 8 - looks decent, setup Gallagher, and much more physically ready than Buckley. If I was Rothwell I might be a bit worried. Whole Wednesday team - 0 - maybe the worst ever showing by a supposedly decent home side in my time following Rovers? I mean unbelievably bad. They let us play exactly how we wanted. So take the ratings with a pinch of salt.

  10. Great to get 3 points and a big win but Mowbray must learn from this. Playing attacking players and not playing Bennett and we could go places. Same as we all said last time!

  11. Genuine question: could Bell follow Nyambes development curve? Reminds me a lot of Nyambe 1-2 seasons ago and, imo, is not as bad as many make out.

  15. See Hart has left the building !! What a waste of money .. this time last year our manager did exactly the same thing then 4 months later handed him a new one year contract ! is there nobody above him to stop this crap ...This manager knows sod all and is doing what ever he wants ... I feel a Elliot Bennnet extension coming .... just to rub salt in the wound... is it too much to ask Radio Lancs and LT asking some serious questions to this clown ...

  17. Hes getting an end product going forward these days. He is 100% our best outlet. If we had another like him on the left then we would be a handful.

  18. Footballing god status tonight lets give him credit when it's due, well done TM. Grand scheme of things nothing really changes, the less he has to pick from the better he does and the better the team performs. About time all the dice fell in our favour and we caught some team having a mare.

  19. Lol, more than happy to eat my words - if anyone had suggested we'd win by 5 goals and a clean sheet before the game started, I'm pretty sure they would have been laughed off the board!

  22. My gripe is I could see the real potential in him but the manager chose to go with a thirty-odd year old midfielder in his place. He would've been playing like this much earlier in the season - given the chance.

  28. I'm absolutely fuming we're saying we have no money and don't want to repeat last season. He gave lucrative contract extensions to players that weren't championship quality, and now wasting the wage bill. Bought 2 players that have so far been quite frankly awful. How can we expect to progress with awful awful decision making by our manager / directors (who approve the deals)?

  31. Credit to Mowbray and the players today for an excellent performance from first whistle to last. Tactically we were spot on for 90 minutes. No weak links, although Rothwell was stupid to get booked when he was having one of his better games. Sensible substitution to take him off before Wednesday tried to get him booked again. I thought Downing was outstanding and ran the game. His vision and range of passing is a joy to watch - no aimless balls, everything done with purpose. Gallagher had a better game coming in from wide positions and caused Wednesday lots of problems as did Holtby in the Dack Role. Defensively we looked sound and Bell had another good game at left-back. It was good to see both Rankin-Costello and Davenport get a run out in the second half and both looked very comfortable on the ball. Wednesday looked very poor and their fans left in droves after goals three and four.

  32. Downing played in CDM alongside Travis. He was brilliant, but it is worth saying Wednesday put absolutely zero pressure on him. When Downing has played in the centre before he has really struggled when pressed. So I'm on the fence as to whether it is something we persist with. I'm sure the team will be unchanged for the next game so that will be better judge of whether it was a one off or not. Gallagher played well and finished his goal brilliantly. Still ultimately looks awkward on the right wing. All his best work was when he cut in.

  33. I don’t think he did anything wrong tbh. He didn’t ask for the red card, there was contact with his shin. Ref was the one giving the card with no pressure. Throughout the match, the Owls men were having a go at him, I thought he did very well

  34. You know the opposition has had a bad day at the office when Gally scores. Whenever the crowd seems to turn TM digs out a result and what a result it was. There's still a ton of issues, not least Gally on the wing, but nevertheless this is still an excellent result. It shows again why we're mid table - hard to see in our barren runs. Holtby is a quality player, we aren't a bad team and showed it today. The goal will do Gally's confidence the world of good and the manner of the win is much needed for the belief of the team. A 1-0 scraped victory Vs 10 men would have been far less encouraging. Good to see the goals shared around as with little.transfer funds we need everyone to up their game if we are to cover for Dack, especially if funds are limited. Still don't rate TM or our chances next year but an excellent result and am a happy chap tonight.

  42. This is the problem. You see the lineup and in your head, you know where each player should play but you just know Mowbray won't make it that straight forward. If he plays Armstrong up front and Gally wide, he's a complete clown.

  44. Sadly, this autocratic and closed-shop / don't ask any awkward questions approach is now firmly established as the national game. Even if you do get the chance to put a question directly to the source of any contention, their response is to blindy dismiss any notion that they might indeed be wrong, and to seek to undermine you for having the audacity to ask in the first place. It happens from Number 10, all the way down to Nuttall Street. I blame New Labour, the Tories, absent and 'absent' owners, Donald Tramp, Maggie Thatcher Giro-Snatcher and Red Ken. Oh, and the Rovers Trust can feck off too, for lumbering us with parasitic inbreds whose vision for the club appears to be anchored around a sociopathical hatred of anything truthful and transparent that might connect with the actual fans of Blackburn Rovers Football Club gawd rest it's mighty and immortal soul....

  45. Cant comment directly on todays performance but a fantastic result, well done to all concerned. Very lucky with the red card which was a poor decision and made our job easier but even against 10 men we often struggle so to get such a scoreline at a difficult ground is a brilliant achievement. A few more general observations: Really glad to see Holtby get a couple of goals, and scrappy, scruffy goals from close range at that. A lot of people have clamoured for a 442 formation in the absence of Dack, but Holtby is a high quality footballer who understandably has had to be shoehorned in when Dack was fit, despite his own quality. I dont think its realistic to expect him to post the numbers and thus impact of Dack but we should build the team with him as a 10. Armstrong didnt score but got 2 more assists, and he is absolutely key. Would be interested to know how he played as the number 9 as I still cannot shake lingering doubts that he should play that role due to certain deficiencies (cant really hold the ball up, always wants the ball in behind but often poorly times his runs and gets caught offside) but he is becoming a very important player for us Really glad to see Gallagher get a goal at the end, ultimately overall his numbers are still very, very poor and his previous 2 goals havent led to him kicking on but it was a superb finish and I hope this can be the cataylst for him to push on. The wing experiment should be stopped so I do wonder how he would get much game time with Armstrong and Holtby down the middle. The one thing that I can always guarantee with him is when you compare him to Brereton, he grafts and busts a gut whereas Brereton doesnt. So good on him. The centre back pairing are one I am happy with, I just hope Lenihan is here long term, give him the captaincy full time, and we are back to square one next season once Adarabioyo goes back but he has been a very shrewd short term addition. Nyambe I hope goes under the radar and his body is capable of standing up to the rigours without repeatedly breaking down injured, he is a good one on one defender who really causes so many problems with his pace and power going forward, he cant cross at the moment so hopefully he is practising plenty but him and Bennett are night and day and he really has made himself a key member of our team. Downing is a class act as we know, Mowbray often uses Bennett as an example of versatility but whereas he is basically a liability wherever he is played, you can put Downing at left back, wide left or today and perhaps where he is now best at his age, in the centre of midfield and he will almost certainly perform to very high levels. If he carries on like this he is a must for an extra year. And great to see Rankin Costello come on and get an assist. The last player who came through ie Buckley looks a million miles up so it would be a huge bonus if JRC could come in as a regular member of the squad in those wide positions which are very much open to nail down. It would be interested to see who is loaned out, JRC definitely not I would suspect, Brereton and Buckley definitely should be, the interesting middle one is Chapman.
