  2. CP, there won’t be a game, so give it a rest. Just look forward to re-aquatinting yourself with whatever 50 year old plus remnants of ‘casuals’ are left in the PL. Get yourself some new clobber and enjoy your summer.

  4. If you’re high risk self isolate. Fine. If you want to build a hermetically sealed room in your basement with 20,000 toilet rolls and 10 tonnes of pasta. Fine. If you want to hibernate for 6 months until you feel it’s safe to come out. Fine. But I shall be going about my normal life with a slightly more vigilant effort in terms of hand hygiene, etc.

  6. Gallows humour but it would be 'interesting' to see the reactions if Leeds stayed in the Championship and Liverpool went another year without the title after all this. Almost worth guaranteeing us missing out on the play-offs...

  7. I just think the whole thing is bollocks. All sport pretty much cancelled until April do they really think it’s going to be any better by then. Only 10 have died here so if those low rates are replicated in April they've set a precedent. What if schools and work places follow life just grinds to a halt. The measures to try to prevent it are worse than the disease. The authorities just want to be seen to be doing something regardless of the consequences. This is just mass hysteria and mass panicking fuelled by the overzealous media who are loving it. You’d think there was some sort of zombie apocalypse going on. Pathetic

  8. It's not Waggot's money being lost though. It's the club's.

  9. Alongside the V's shares slide this could well push us to having to offload a few this summer. Let's hope they can get by with cutting deadwood once and for all. Mulgrew, Smallwood, Samuel, the reserve keeper out, loan Brereton, Chapman and sell Evans for a few quid - save a small fortune. Not one of them will really be missed in the grand scheme of things going off this seasons evidence.

  10. A mate of mine was at that game, seven Rovers fans in a row together, on the side but right up near the Gladwys Street End. Their intention was to remain seated and tight lipped if Rovers scored. When Sutty scored they all rose as one punching the air. They got a few verbals but nothing else lol. I’ve done it at Bolton in one of the 2-2 games where we equalised at the death. There were six of us, three Rovers and three Bolton. I got warned when our first goal went in (off a steward) and when our second went in, us three Rovers fans went absolutely ballistic, as you would expect.

  16. May i suggest self isolation. Stock up on booze and light snacks and just go for it. Keep in contact with your older parents but just chill and listen to music. Re stock early. 8am.

  17. Whilst I agree with FFP being unfair, I couldn’t disagree more about clubs not being bailed out- look at all of League 2 and 1, bar a few cases, there is absolutely no one going to come in and throw money at those clubs because it makes absolutely no financial sense. There could well be some fan owners be willing to chuck money like it’s no object, but you’re not seriously suggesting 71 millionaires/ billionaires, who each support a different club, in The Football League are you? There wasn’t before FFP was introduced and with the current impending economic crisis, if FFP was scrapped, there sure won’t be now. This is serious- clubs outside the top flight are in trouble if this season isn’t finished.

  18. Your 2865 allocation at Bramall Lane for your big Yorkshire derby or your 2333 allocation at the Turd for your other Yorkshire derby.... If you qualify for a ticket of course.

  19. There is a good thing to come out of all this.... The club staff now have no matches to arrange so plenty of time for them to conclude looking into everything they have been looking into. Expect to see some action at Ewood (for a change). We will hear what they have decided to do to honour Tony Parkes. The stadium will have a deep clean and a lick of paint. The hand dryers in the bogs will be replaced. The safe standing hand rails will be ordered. We will hear about the agreement with the council to re-open the car parks and the new match day bus services from outlying Rovers communities. The new ground layout for next season will be unveiled showing the designated safe standing, disabled, singing and away sections. In conjuction with this, a new marketing slogan promoting new fair pricing and early the release of season tickets, including 12 month payment plans if you buy now. This campaign will be plastered over every bus stop in Preston and Hyndburn. Of course we will also hear how a strategic rethink has decided that next season there will be no Waggott Tax. That they have held top level meetings with Sodexo and agreed pies will not run out at 10 past 3 and the Fosters will be replaced by something better. Amazingly we will also hear that all obstacles have now been removed and craft ales will be available. This should be enough for the coming week. I am sure the week after they can sort a vegan pie option between them although this may be slightly more difficult.

  20. There are not 3k Rovers in the Riverside full stop. However I would be embarrassed if our club gave more than 1 stand to away support. I'm not sure the Riverside can easily of safely segregated.

  22. Marin Samuel in full agreement. "We might want to have a look at FUP, too — or at least stop making pariahs of owners who wish to invest. If anything is going to pull football through this crisis it is those owners who are prepared to bankroll their clubs because not everyone has the good fortune to be as well-heeled and protected as Manchester United." https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8110863/MARTIN-SAMUEL-no-room-random-setback-football-full.html

  24. I seriously hope that they ve not cooked and bought 7700 pies three weeks in advance ..

  25. poor old Sheriff Waggott of Ewood... the meat in the pie.... On one hand refunding £300K to Leeds fans. On the other hand paying for 7700 pies he no longer has use for. Not sure why I find that amusing but ripping Rovers fans off with fake taxes means you "reap what you sow".

  26. Why should owners be expected to cover losses over next few weeks and then be subjected to draconian rules? Some clubs are going to be in real trouble and scrapping FUP will boost their chances of securing outside investment. People who want to subscribe to FUP won't buy a club in the current climate. So you have to look for benefactors, etc.

  31. Yeah, when you play football you know how easy it is to get lost in the general atmosphere in the heat of the moment. You’re doing everything you can to get the ball back and show some fight and the line is very fine between brilliant and reckless. The man did what he could for his team, I’ll never fault him for that. Young players get red cards it’s all part and parcel of their development. Those that chastise him have probably never stepped foot on a field of play before and are Monday night football experts.

  32. We booked a full sized coach from my workplace in Rochdale for that game, 50 guys out of 150 staff. A great night out, for all concerned. I was on the big open end near the river. We were packed in like sardines. What a Bloody weekend , Rovers played like @#/? and my lot got a guy sin binned 10 minutes from the end at Batley, we blew a 14 point lead in that time to lose with the last kick of the game 38-36 !
