  1. We need their cash because they put us in a financial black hole. We were chugging along OK until they came in and burned everything to the ground - so forgive me if I don't fall at their feet in reverence. The least they can do is keep the lights turned on considering the destruction they've wrought in the past decade, during which the "highlight" has been promotion from a division we hadn't been in for decades previously.

  2. Wigan and Barnsley losing 3 & 4 nil, says everything you need to know. Get out Mowbray, you're eroding any goodwill you built up for the promotion season.

  3. Sam Gallagher's Career: 144 games 22 goals Last two seasons: 66 games 10 goals How on earth did Mowbray look at the player and his record and justify 5 million pounds. How the hell could you justify 1 million pounds. We sold Raya, who Brentford hold as their best ever goalkeeper, for 3 million. Whoever is in charge of our transfer policy needs removing before they cause any more damage

  4. A competent club would take this as an opportunity to jettison the current lame duck manager and get in a replacement for the final few games of the season, bed him in with the current squad and give him a chance to experiment in the last few competitive games before the summer. Unfortunaely we have Waggott and Venky's, so, as you were.

  5. It's all too nice for me, nobody falling out when things go wrong, no big bust ups. I very much see the running of the club from top to bottom as we will just keep riding this out for as long as we can and for as long as those idiots in India keep paying. It reminds me very much of the Sunderland documentary that no matter what happens on the pitch, in the transfer market, in the boardroom, it doesn't matter one jot as we will send a bill to India that gets paid (I'm not convinced it particularly gets paid more saddled with debt!) and they can all still enjoy the gravy train. Nobody involved with Blackburn Rover's current set up feel ANY ill effect of what happens. Mowbray should really be looking down the barrel for the signings of Gallagher and Brereton before we even start on any list of playing deficiencies. Waggott should be looking down the barrel for the drop in season ticket holders and attendances, and general crowd unrest. These two people who are at the very top of the tree at Ewood are so comfortable, they don't have to worry what happens on or off the pitch and that really worries me.

  6. 3 defeats in a row, incredibly likely to be 5 after the next 2. Its abundantly clear that Mowbray isn't taking this squad any further. He's signed 2 absolute dollopers in Gallagher and Brereton and hampers Gallagher further by shunting him RW. And his binning of Raya for Walton is looking like the worst piece of business yet. Mowbray is stubborn and won't change, so as a result we aren't miraculously going to become a force to be reckoned with. Times up, he needs to go.

  7. He and the team have treated these games like pre season friendlies after the first sprightly game back. We were ONE point off the play offs for crying out loud. Absolutely nothing to lose just have a go at it but no he has to have them bumbling along like rabbits in headlights. Yes lost to a good side today and some fighting for points but we are supposed to be fighting for a top 6 spot. If you can't motivate your team in such a good position and just go for it or go down fighting then sorry but what's the point ? Those who remember when we were last similar to what we are now will recall that under Don Mackay this is when we stepped up to the plate. Didn't make it through the play offs because we weren't strong enough the best 11 picked itself. I can cast iron guarantee that he'd have had this lot getting into the play offs are at least die trying. I can also guarantee that this fella taking over a Mackay side in similar situation would end up with us 12th. This lot now exist just to look after each other. ENOUGH !

  8. Can we make a warranty claim to Southampton for Gallagher? He's not fit for purpose or as described and it's within 12 months.

  9. Waggot needs replacing first and foremost and the new man empowered sufficiently to hire and fire the first team manager. It's the only thing that will ever work with our absentee landlords. If that were to happen, then watch every bugger else wake up from their slumber!

  10. Mixed day. Positives: pub, BBQ, won £120 this week backing against Rovers (Barnsley / Leeds), a quality red for tonight's film. Negatives: watched the wretched match IMO, anyone who still thinks Mowbray should remain Rovers' manager should book themselves an appointment at their nearest Priory Clinic. Almost lost for words. Leeds didn't really need to get out out of first gear - if they'd been really at it, we could have lost by 5 or 6. IMO, Walton, Bennett, Johnson, Holtby, Rothwell, Gallagher, Samuel should all feck off along with Waggott, Mowbray, Venus, Lowe and Benson. Again, IMO, we are not progressing as a football club - we are going backwards quickly. I think we have huge, huge, problems and have next to nothing to show for Mowbray's three and half year tenure. Travis badly caught in possession for Leeds' first goal - never a foul Walton badly positioned for Leeds 2nd goal Walton a complete joke for Leeds' third goal Doubt Gallagher could hit a cow's arse with a banjo. Who on earth was the lead commentator - IMO, based on some of his observations and comments, he's a joke who knows very, very little about football. IMO, Walton should not play for Rovers again and Mowbray should be sacked tonight should the self purported man of integrity not resign. I really think we are a complete and utter shambles as a football team. Are we really a better team than we were under Kean or Coyle. Those are the depths I sadly think we've plummeted to.

  12. Mowbray should be sacked just on his decision making Sold Raya and replaced him with a clown & bought in Johnson BB SG all crap .. Chooses Bennett is his captain When he should be nowhere near the first team Has not even looked at refreshing his coaching staff for new ideas .. not that he would listen to them as he comes across as a I know it all .. The quicker he goes the better ...

  13. Time for many drinks. Keep safe distance though - like Rovers defending

  14. £12m spent on two championship strikers. You really would expect them to make a difference. according to Wiki.... Gallagher 76 appearances 15 goals. Brereton 35 appearances 1 goal. So that’s £12m, 111 appearances 16 goals. you could get two free signings for that and more goals.

  15. I'd 100% be starting Graham ahead of either Gallagher or Brereton (not RW/LW) mind you) because Graham actually knows where the back of the net is. Gallagher and Brereton are an incredible waste of money and Samuel is absolute toss.

  16. What we saw today was a properly coached team, fit and drilled. Rovers on the other hand, a bunch of individuals .During Mowbray's tenure we have relied on individuals to pull us through, never been a TEAM as such, time for change. Thanks Tony, top man but yesterday's manager.

  17. It's a good job fans aren't allowed in grounds. On recent form we'd be down to about 5,000 now. Mowbray's time is up for me. The club's dead in the water. Why they never appointed Warnock when they twice had the opportunity beggars belief

  18. The 20 something year olds? No, they might get their feelings hurt. Better shield them from the real world until their contracts run out.

  20. I saw him minutes after we got relegated at Brentford as we were getting into the car for a miserable journey home. I have refereed him several times and know him reasonably well as we always used to chat about Rovers. I asked him outright about becoming our manager and he told me he expressed an interest when Coyle got the job but never got the courtesy of a reply. I find that symptomatic of the last decade. On the day he was with his son and daughter who were both decked out in Rovers kits.

  21. What this whole sorry episode needs is not some wishy washy investigation by the toothless football authorities but a criminal investigation by the fraud squad and expose the whole 'fit and proper' sham and illegal operations for what it really is. Football really needs a new brush to sweep away the ineptitude and corruption that runs through it likes stick of rock. Unfortunately the likes of Wigan (and even ultimately us) could be collateral damage in the process.

  22. Seven and a half Sam Gallagher’s would get you about five goals a season.

  25. That should have been a red, would have forced Mowbray to play another keeper as well

  26. Walton strikes (yet) again. The second substitution should have been my "face in the crowd" for Walton. It'd stop more and Rovers have my permission.

  27. We all know mowbray won't be sacked by the useless fkn rao family. No passion, no ideas.

  28. He's proven time and again during his time at Rovers that he isn't the honourable bloke he purports to be. He's not walking away from 2 years of cash.

  30. Last season we had a run of 1 point from 21 and one win in eleven games (including nine defeats). Nobody flinched.

  32. Those numbers are subliminal messages, and you'll have an urge to assassinate some world leader or buy the next U2 album.

  33. £5m on Gallagher alone should be enough for Tony to be off, appalling waste of money

  34. You've been saying that for 3 seasons. Eventually you'll be right. He's still better than those 2 donkeys added together but then again I probably am.

  35. Exaggerated example, but Liverpool without Van Dijk & Allison weren't going to win the league, even with the firepower available to them. They dropped a lot of points from winning positions, too. Rovers can continue picking up strikers and forwards, boasting a new style of possessive play until the cows come home. Until we can stop solely relying on Lenihan to keep out goals at the other end, we're not going up.

  36. Champions of Europe? Must have missed that one. We've won more than anyone outside the top division including yourselves so I suppose I agree big clubs will always be big.

  39. To be honest despite the flop this season i still believe Gallagher and Brereton are both capable of better than they've shown. However under this manager i doubt they ever will because his handling and use of them has been abysmal. He's done great with Armstrong and Dack but the fact that one is quality and one actually has natural goal scoring ability really helped him on that level. If the owners don't want to write off most if not all of those investments - because that's the only reason they funded them - then they need a manager who has some nous how to use them.

  40. I agree entirely , I have said this before when Raya was sold , someone was lined up (no idea who) but something happenend , probably wages ... So , we ended up with Walton as a last gasp , scraping the barrel loan...

  41. Leutwiler and Brereton can be added to that list as well as a host of U23 players who are well below Championship standard and always will be - Magloire, Platt, Grayson, White, Lyons fall in this category. More deadwood in this squad than the average timber yard.

  43. Imagine someone telling Mowbray that David Raya would be the starting GK for a team with a +40 goal difference, shoe in for goalkeeper of the year and possible/probably PL keeper next year... Makes me sick.

  47. I don’t really understand why Sam Hart was given an extension to the end of the season if he can’t even get in the squad when our other two LBs are injured.

  48. zurab was class,he`d stand out a mile from the current lot we`ve got,so much that he`d attract attention from promotion chasing clubs and we would`nt be able to hold on to him,he might have a few problems tuning in to the mowbray ethos though, not sure he`d appreciate being played out of position at left back?
