    Summary

A man who started work as an apprentice printer, he was brought to the Rovers for grooming with the reserves and proved an ebullient goalscorer who twice scored four goals in a game. He was introduced into the team at the expense of the cup hero, Roscamp, and although he proved a regular marksman Blackburn still measured their ouput by the standards of Ted Harper. The decision to sell him to Coventry was a major error. In 228 league games he scored 171 goals and whilst the standards of the Third Division were less demanding, there is no doubt that he would have scored goals in the First Division. After the war he coached in Denmark.
