    Summary

A conventional striker who had depths of creativity he built up a reputation as a journeyman who brought a touch of class wherever he played. He came to Ewood at the tail end of his career, for no other reason than it was the only compensation the club could obtain when Duncan McKenzie decided to play in the USA. Busby cut an unhappy figure with the Rovers, often injured and generally out of touch. Making his way as a coach he was Dennis Smith's right hand man at York, Stoke and Sunderland and performed a similar role for Howard Kendall at Sheffield United and Everton. His one attempt to manage on his own ended in failure at Hartlepool but he has always found someone who believed in his coaching ability, acting as reserve team coach at Fulham and youth team coach at Swindon. Sandwiched in this spell was a period where he worked with Metro Radio. He later acted as assistant and temporary manager with York City, youth team development coach at Gretna and assistant manager at Workington. Having overcome leukaemia he decided to emigrate to the Costa de Sol and in 2012 left his  Carlisle home to re-locate to Spain.
