  1. The sky commentators earlier had the gall to compare the Champions of Europe vs Rubin Kazan to an FA Cup tie. It's World famous, you know.
  2. I watched Juno over the weekend, anyone seen it? I went out and bought the DVD on the strength of the title character featuring in the 100 Greatest Movie Characters list a few pages back. Ellen Page is absolutely superb, cutting, witty and absolutely hilarious. A rarity in thats its a film full of young persons vernacular that isn't solely aimed at young people. Highly recommended. EDIT: Just searched the thread and there's already a bit of dicussion about the film. Apologies, didn't check first.
  3. To be honest thats why I liked 4 - I didnt expect it to feel like a Die Hard movie, and at the start it didn't, but it doesnt take long for Willis to give you that feel. Probably the "you just killed a helicopter with a car" moment that seals it.
  4. Rampage is a very very funny guy. Got in a bit of trouble for the first video there.
  5. You liked Die Hard 2 better? I'm amazed at that - great film but the weakest of the 4 in my opinion. Ditto, I went out and found the "Quadrilogy" box set a while back, great purchase. I'm very surprised at this, Die Hard 3 is my favourite. Its just an excellent twist and Irons is good as Gruber's brother. Not as good as Hans, but Samuel L Jackson makes up for that. The opening "game" he has McClane play is real jaw-dropping stuff when the camera pans out and you see what he's wearing. Good trivia! Get out. Anything with Bruce Willis in is awesome. Including Hudson Hawk. Get a life cadet boy, its Die Hard!! For the MMA/UFC fans amongst us, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has been cast to play B.A. Very charismatic guy who could just pull it off.
  6. Yeah the 4th is great. "You just killed a helicopter with a car!!" "I was out of bullets" To expand your Gruber quote slightly - "The circuits that cannnot be cut are cut automatically in response to a terrorist incident. You asked for miracles, Theo, I give you the F....B...I..." Brilliant.
  7. My favourite Die Hard is actually the 3rd one, with Jeremy Irons as Gruber's brother. Excellent plot-line that one. In honestly they're all great, harmless fun action flicks. Can't beat it. I have a theory - if a woman will put up with you shouting out "Yippee-kay-ay" at the moment of climax, she's a keeper. So far I'm right
  8. "I wanted this to be professional, efficient, adult, cooperative. Not a lot to ask. Alas, your Mr. Takagi did not see it that way... so he won't be joining us for the rest of his life." Gruber was fantastic.
  9. Sounds good to me Rebel. A publically voted list would likely be headed by Heath Ledger's Joker these days.
  10. Further proof that hindsight is 20/20
  11. Scathing Callaghan was on the list though. Jake LaMotta isn't a movie character.
  12. I'm not sure how the list was put together, public vote or committee. Funnily enough The Shining was on Sky Movies today, had never seen it so I watched it. Brilliant. I never realised that the avatar someone has on here of the boy with his head in his hands is from that movie. Tyler Durden is a superb character, massively memorable and as such probably has a place high on the list. I'm a bit of a cheesy movie fan, so would have liked to see Rocky and John McClane higher up the list.
  13. Was about to say the same. When they won Serie C2, Serie B was expanded to 24 teams and Fiorentina were promoted again without kicking a ball.
  14. http://www.empireonline.com/100-greatest-movie-characters/ A good fun read - thoughts on the list?
  15. Happy for Zurab. He's so much better than being our 4th choice. Wish we could keep him though, he's better than Nelsen.
  16. Tugay had more talent in his hairdo than David Dunn has ever had. As for Benni, keep him, as long as he doesn't mind not starting every game. World Cup year, he may want to go for first team football. If so, fine.
  17. According to the local paper down here, Swindon Town had a "5 figure fee" accepted for Taylor but he opted to go to Sheffield United. 5 figures? Are Tranmere really that hard up? I though Taylor was one of their better players.
  18. Having followed Ferguson's career for many years I would have expected to have understood most references to him, but that one has totally lost me.
  19. He was brilliant before he did his knee. Like so many others that injury took his game away to the extent that I'm actually pleased Rangers are getting shot. Eck should know better, I'm surprised he's taking him.
  20. In fairness he's a Champions League winning striker. He's probably right to expect to be picked to play up front before Chris Samba. I would have thought Sam would have explained the choice to him, but perhaps not.
  21. Managing the same side for 23 years, thats going to happen from time to time. People forget that Sir Alex also managed at a World Cup finals. He's done it all.
  22. Because rather than selling him, in response to those comments Sparky decided to make him captain! Still ###### off about that now.
