  1. I remember this game. At 3-1 down I was ready to leave due to lack of hope of turning the result around and the pissing rain. It was probably the pissing rain that stopped me leaving as rather than heading home and getting more wet than I already was I instead went to the back of the Blackburn End and watched the unbelieveable unfold. Not that it did us any good long term. Palace beat us in the play-offs. Or was it George Courtney beat us in the play offs?
  2. Newcastle fans are being unusually sentimental about souey I see http://boards.rivals.net/default.asp?sid=8...toid=2123936693
  3. Or, dare I suggest, Newcastle. (I have a feeling that there will be a vacancy there soon)
  4. I don't particularly want him, but the name of Glenn Hoddle - from out of nowhere - just entered my mind. And I could imaginie it chiming nicely in the head of Williams. I want Strachan. What I definetly don't want is one of the relics like Wilkinson, Venables, etc. Certainly not Houllier as well. But Hoddle - with God on our side, Eillen Dury to lay her healing hand on Thompson and all our other sick note squad members, who knows what we can achieve. Apart from relegation
  5. Marshall Burke. True he played for the dingles for a while and he only really had six good months for us but to my young self who knew no better, he was what football was all about. This was because he looked liked a punk rocker and scored crucial goals for the Rovers in a seaon when we never scored goals. Yes, I know that season we lost out on promotion to Swansea - but that was on GOAL difference. We only scored 42 in 42 games and Marshall scored a lot of crucial ones. Who can forget that bullet header he scored against Bristol City, and that one he scored against...., no, that's the only one I can remember. But I do know I saw him score others. Last time I heard of Marshall he had his picture in a match day programme - he was working for (and representing) Matthew Brown Breweries. And sadly, no longer loking like a punk rocker, but like the management executive he now is: an executive who looked like he enjoyed his long working lunches a little too much.
