  1. Hear hear! Yeah I was really hoping for the Marquis signing during the summer. Really liked what I saw of him last season. Bit of a warrior, like.
  2. Yep! First day of the season versus Ipswich as well. The fella has a lot to his game. Still reckon he hasn't hit peak form yet this season, so I'm excited to see what he can from here on out.
  3. That goal on Saturday perfectly illustrates your point. Bit of ping-pong in the box (no Thailand jokes, please) and who pops up at point blank to smack it in? He's a sly fox, alright.
  4. From watching it through the laptop, I can only agree. Lot of huff, puff, and arm waving. The most significant thing he did was (unsurprisingly) pick up a completely stupid yellow card.
  5. Reed and Evans seems like down to earth, Johnny Normal kind of blokes, so it's hardly surprising. Theatrical preening like RuPaul? Dame Edna esque double entendre? I honestly don't think they could pull it off.
  6. Garry Nelson's 'Left Foot Forward' was one I enjoyed checking out of the library when I was a young fella.
  7. Yeah, totally. He was a livewire. Shame he had to go and blot his copybook with that stupid foul at the end, but apart from that I really liked what I saw.
  8. Because of Williams' injury , Bell finally got the run of starts that a few of us had been waiting eagerly for. Now that Williams back to full fitness, do you think that Bell has done enough to keep his place? I don't go to games so I know in the eyes of some that precludes me from having an opinion on it. Fair enough, to a degree, but regular game-goers, what's your take on it? However, going on the games I've seen online, I think Bell has done enough to warrant his continued presence in the starting 11. I thought he looked a threat when he was pushed further up the field after Williams came on. My caveat here is that I didn't see a kick of the Bristol City capitulation, so I honestly don't know how he performed there.
  9. Yep, man. You're dead right. I looked it up and he's under contract until the end of June, 2020. Cheers!
  10. 200%. If he makes a balls of it again after this there'll be no coming back from it, I'm sure. For Rovers at any rate. Hopefully the daft git gets the message.
  11. Simply put, Lenihan has made this season have lead to goals. Todd, of his Rovers era, most likely wouldn't have made them mistakes. With me still? Therefore, if we had someone like that I would be starting him alongside Mulgrew with Lenihan as his understudy and future successor.
  12. Now, that I can believe. Always seemed a complete bell-end!
  13. I have a lot of time for Lenihan and think he'll be a future rock for club and country, but this season the evidence is there for all to see that he's still green at times.
  14. Phil Brown had it coming as far as I can tell. It was meant to be a team building trip and Brown wouldn't leave off slagging Todd over his old man resigning from the Bolton job. Todd was one of my faves during that era of Rovers. Wouldn't mind someone like him on the books today. Could be the steel to Mulgrew's silk.
  15. I can't help but feel sorry for the chap. Argue the toss about whether he was good enough or not, but that's a really rotten injury for him. As far as I know it's the last year of his contract? Open to correction on that, but it means his recovery is really a 'make or break' situation. Good luck to him.
  16. Sage advice. Last time around I was lying on the sofa hitting refresh on my smartphone getting ever more agitated while my two little nephews were wondering why their uncle wasn't picking them up and chasing them around the living room. Felt like a double-ass afterwards. And for what?! TMI, but I'm bringing em to the park for a kickaround tomorrow. Can't wait. The small lad can be Dacky, the older fella Benno. Given my age, temperment and fitness levels, I'll be Tugay.
  17. An echo of my own feelings on the situation. I'm steeling myself for disappointment, but I'll probably turn a cartwheel if it works out.
  18. I hope you don't have to eat any words! Smallwood playing well is great for everyone. I agree with you regarding the back end of last season. I thought some of the criticism was unfair. In every game I watched on ifollow (most of them) he was snapping into challenges and protecting the back four admirably well.
  19. Deadline Day 2: Deadline Harder. Stupidly excited at the prospect of Chapman's return. That's a signing I've been gooing for all summer. Well, him and Marquis from Doncaster, but I think that was my own creation seeing as we were never in for him.
  20. Very heartening to read. Funnily enough, I didn't catch the Brentford so it's good to hear that his combatative abilities are present and correct. No, of the games I've seen I thought he was especially poor against Hull and no great shakes against Ipswich. But please don't misunderstood me, I like the player and want to see him do well. Just that pillock from earlier wound me up with his 'agenda' guff!
  21. Given the signing of Brereton, and to a lesser extent Armstrong, I ought to hold my hands up for my 'but we clearly don't have a pot to piss in' tweet earlier this summer.
