v Ipswich Town (h) - Good Friday, 29/3/24, 17:30
Crimpshrine replied to philipl's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Not in agreement with the comments saying we played well today. I thought Ipswich were average at best and they had an off day. They looked shaky at the back and uncomfortable trying to pass out of defence. But we didn't do anything to capitalise. A bit more fight and endeavour, more pressing and more physicality could have seen us win but it never materialised. We created very little indeed. We had the disallowed goal but we were lucky with the penalty that was not given - so that evens out. Neither team played well but Ipswich did just enough and we didn't. If we continue to play to that standard for the remaining games we will be very lucky not to be relegated. -
I agree. This is the crux of the matter. I am convinced the McGuire deal was not signed off because there were significant future commitments that required the nod from Pune which wasn't possible at 11 pm UK time. I am sure a lot of work went into agreeing a deal but if it's not approved in advance, Suhail will simply pull it. On the other hand, Waggott has authority to sign off loan signings and freebies so the Fleck deal went through no problem - even at the ridiculous cost of £20,000 per week wages.

Rovers Rumours & Speculation

When did they ever tell the truth ? -
I agree. It feels to me like Broughton is out of the equation now that JDT has gone. Resorting to YouTube interviews backs that up. Eustace is 100% a Waggott appointment and he is not going to rock the boat even if we lose our top players over the summer.

Venky’s, HMRC…The Plot Thickens ?
Crimpshrine replied to tomphil's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I agree with your prediction if the court case gets sorted but I'm not so sure it's that simple. There can be no money provided until August. Another postponement or more problems uncovered by the investigation in the meantime then surely their situation becomes untenable and they can't pay the bills even if they are willing to do so. At that point maybe 'the authorities' can step in ? -

That will just be the money they were allowed to send last November or whenever it was. Already accounted for and spent -

Venky’s, HMRC…The Plot Thickens ?

They have had 9 or 10 million pounds worth of property siezed. They already have £11 million held by the Indian Government to cover the money they were allowed to send in November. The investigations are said to be at a nascent stage. If they are seen to be bending any rules at all to send money out of India they will be jumped on by the Indian authorities. They can borrow money against assets in this country as they have done previously, but I think the only way they will get significant funding to the club is via the Indian courts. This means a long wait and no guarantee that permission will be granted anyway. I think the club will be told there is no Venky money until August at the earliest. We will need to generate our own income until then. When does the summer transfer window open ? -

I disagree. I don't think they can send money at all without permission. Even then it must be secured by the same amount held in India -

I seem to remember from the previous court documents that they can only send cash over if approved by the court. Even this money must be matched by a security of the same value held in india. I don't think they are allowed to send any money not approved by the court even if they do provide security. So, they can't fund as normal. -

The situation regarding communication on the subject was referenced In a statement signed by Steve Waggott just a couple of weeks ago ( in a meeting with WATR ) "WATR reiterated that, subject to legal constraints, they wanted the Club to explain the finances better and in more detail with supporters and that explanations as to Indian High Court hearings and the processes were vital to help ensure clarity and to counter all the rumours that occur when there is a communication void" Who is surprised that there is still a communication void ? -
v Plymouth Argyle (h) - 09/03/2024

We've had some important moments against Plymouth. A promotion battle in the 3rd division, Kenny's first match, Speedie's hat trick to make the playoffs, Nicky Marker taking out Ardiles. Today could be very important one way or the other -

And that is without even mentioning the on/off purchase, on/off loan and return to Orlando of McGuire due to 'WrongButtonGate'! Still waiting for the Broughton interview and the promise that it won't happen again! Procedures are in place!! -

Only because Venky's won't pay his contract up. He may as well hang around and make the tea. Waggott is in control again like he was when Mowbray was here. -
John Eustace - our head coach
Crimpshrine replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The announcement of a new manager normally brings fresh hope and excitement. I felt that when JDT arrived. I have nothing against Eustace at all - a reasonable appointment and I am hoping he is a massive success- but it really hasn't lifted the gloom for me. I have to be honest and admit that the recent increase in unrest and the potential for protest against Waggott and the owners was giving me some hope that a new dawn could be close. Now It just feels like another phase of the dark ages. . Venky-fatigue has set in once again. Nothing will change until they leave. -
Or it could simply be down to cost. Venky's can't currently supply any money and the Wharton cash ( probably only a percentage paid up front from CP ) has been earmarked for HMRC / wages. They will not have budgeted for a big payoff for JDT. So maybe Venky's won't sanction a sacking and JDT won't walk.
