A 4-0 defeat at Ashton Gate is a "result",  albeit a bad one.

Still contemplating going to this, but the thought of a weary 4-hour battle each way on the M6 and M5 doesn't appeal.

    Jim, with your record mate.......

How did Brittain not get MOTM? He was outstanding.

Also special mention for Markanday who showed real physicality. Not seen that from him before.

He did, the stadium announcer issued a correction as I was coming down the BBE steps.

I thought it was odd that Gally got it too.

  3. As a big advocate of women's football, this is fantastic- what was the eventual attendance btw?

Couldn't make it today as my daughter was playing, but a stone's throw from the Wham stadium.

2-1 down at HT, she came on & with 2 assists they won 4-2 to take them back top of the league with 3 games on hand (weather related)

Somewhat offbeam but does anybody know if a music track is played at Ewood, do we have to pay royalties?

If you play any mainstream music which can be heard by the public then you need a PRS licence. Costs depend on venue size, what it's used for etc but all venues should have one by law - believe it or not, even your local chippy that might just have the radio on in the background. Royalties aren't paid on a 'song by song' basis, but percentages are worked out by them having people visiting various different places and making a note of what's being played.

    https://www.prsformusic.com/licences

I won't clog up this thread with much more info on this, but I will add that if you've ever been in a shop (Matalan is an example of where I've heard this done) & heard a familiar song that's 'not quite right', this will be where unknown artists cover tracks, are paid a one off fee for it and it's then available to play to the public without the need for a licence.

  5. A,blind man on a galloping horse could see where our problems were well before HT.  I'm a big Fadz fan, but he should've been subbed at HT & an extra man put in midfield so our back 4 (who aren't blessed with pace) could drop a little deeper.

Don't treat us as idiots, that's all I'm asking right now. Oh, that & 3pts please!

Whilst Leo has been poor overall, I thought he was fine on Tues.

Some good starting positions, handling and distribution all fine.

Expect better for their goal (obviously), but the defenders have to take the bulk of the blame for that one.

Feel some are a bit too harsh on him.

Andy  I'll be honest mate  most of your posts I like as they're usually well balanced,  but come on, Leo is a disaster waiting to happen.

Yeah he was OK on Tues cos he had fuck all to do. The one thing he had to do was literally stand still. The ball would've hit him him the face & job done.

Yes, the defending was crap, but it was an easy save in the end.

And yes, before anyone trawls back through my posts, I was one calling for him to be given a go as "he can't be any worse than Pears". Well his is! Dog shit in fact. If that's harsh, then so be it.

I'll bring my gloves on Sat. I'm nearly 49 but I can stop a shot right at me, even without my glasses on!

  7. Just trying to put a bit of a positive spin on tonight's game (extremely difficult, I know), my daughter can't make it as she's on holiday & only gets back tomorrow so my stepson said he'd use her ST & come along.

Now, he's not a Rovers fan (Manure - blame his mother!) but has been to a few games with me over the years & generally we have a good record when he comes along. The games we haven't won have been against prem opposition where we have given a good account of ourselves (Mourinho's Manure & Newcastle last week). His first ever visit to Ewood saw us beat Reading 4-2 with goals from Benni Mac (2), RSC & Tugay.

    Just hoping his streak continues!

I'm a bit puzzled that you're a bit puzzled, your initial post seemed to be very much saying the first 6 months of money from Wharton was spunked on Fleck. If that's not what you were saying fair enough but it's very much how you put it across.

Agree on the insurance and I had the same thought. When a risk is high you tend to pay out a huge portion of what your payout might be, so most likely we either thought it wasn't worth splashing out on, or the initial outlay was even bigger than suspected but at least much of it will be reimbursed.

Yeah, be a bit like trying to take out a life insurance policy for a kamikaze pilot!
