  1. Rigger, look at the youth that hasn’t featured in the first team squad yet, add them to those that have, add them to 3/4 quality signings and add it all to our now coaching/management structure. I’d rather be us than any other bugger in Lancashire!
  2. An easy example - you say we “lost our top two candidates”; You’re incorrect, we didn’t. The plan was always to carry out and screen initial applicants for First Team Coach, in addition to considering those fancied that may still have been contracted to clubs. The plan was always to appoint a DOF and that they would then be part and instrumental in the final selection process of First Team Coach and backroom staff. They are all in situ before pre-season starts in earnest, why is there a problem? (Rhetorical because for once, at long last, they’ve actually got it right! (iMO)
  3. You’re right Gav (not the pub reference, how very dare you) but the product on the pitch comment, ambition off it but I do feel the owners care, so on that, we’ll have to agree to disagree. Waggott, Fielder don’t get us but are starting to do! Anyway, back to preparing my Marie Rose Sauce for next season, the brown bread is doing lovely in the bread maker and I’m growing Hearts of Romain in the garden…with a bit of luck I’ll get out to Morcambe Bay before the end of July to net the prawns, the vital ingredient! Riversider 49 years, 21 out of 23 away games last season, amongst everyone else. Anyone casting any adverse aspersions towards me, clearly don’t know me! I don’t always get everything right, who does but I know where my heart and mind is!💙🤍
  4. I totally agree and as you’d expect IraC, I’ve made the point countless times. If you direct all and sundry to use on line portals, you make bloody sure that they work flawlessly and are extremely user friendly. If you suspect that they may not be, for whatever reason, then ensure that phone lines are adequately manned. Customer Service IS King!
  5. I dunno, have they? Really?…I don’t really care in honesty but just used it as a local comparison. Check out that lots gates in The PL over the past 5/6 years, that should tell you all you need to know. (Has Pendle Hill been terraced yet to cope with demand?) If we sell 10/12k Season Tickets, plus corporates/hospitality (I understand that currently totals in excess of 700), it’d be a fair result.
  6. You too believe what you want with respect. The actual fact is the plan for 9 months has always been to appoint a DOF first this spring/summer and he be part of the final selection process for First Team Coach and backroom staff. It may appear to some to be an elongated process but everything is in place prior to players reporting back for pre-season and the summer transfer merry go round when everyone is back from holiday. Pray tell…why has the selection process been described as “a fiasco” by some?
  7. That’s just inaccurate and untrue Matty. Granted, the platform for online ticket sales still doesn’t work as it should, that in itself is diabolical, I agree….feck knows why not, it should be an absolute priority! Despite the demographics locally and the ‘cost of living crisis’, I get it all, I do believe that our season ticket sales for 22/23 will be the best in terms of numbers for many years and will be in excess of Burnley, North End, Blackpool, Wanderers and Wigan. It was forever thus!
  8. You'll never change Tony, each to their own. I'm telling you nowt btw, I wouldn't dream of doing that. Make your own mind up and that applies to everyone else too but think about it logically. Proof of the pudding etc (yeh, it may have taken 11 years for whatever reason but does that stigma remain for ever?....1960sque?)
  9. Lambert was/is as dour and lacking in imagination as Mowbray. Yes there has been a multitude of other cock ups too but hopefully lessons have been learned and we move on! Alan Myers was just another on the gravy train, following a host of others. It would appear the owners have wised up at long last!
  10. There will be imminent announcements regarding attractive season ticket packages, particularly for families, in the next few days.
  11. Yep, and what also needs to be considered is that if any potential candidate is already contracted to another club, then the first port of call is to their club in order to ask permission to talk to said candidate....it takes time because every man and his dog football related are currently 'on the beach'.
  12. I wouldn't pay Stuart Harvey with washers. We were best shut!
  13. Matt, One thing I'm not is a liar! I'm sorry you've raised this previously. I can assure you that everyone I have ever asked , whether they be pissed up or coked up, whoever they are, to show respect, sit down or whatever.....they have done just that. I pick no battles whatsoever, don't care tbh, I'm sorry you think that way. Respect is just that...Respect and everyone has it within them to recognise that, irrespective. Or perhaps I may be a snake charmer 😉
  14. I wholeheartedly agree tomphil. I've missed only one away game this season and that was Cardiff! I get annoyed and aggravated at some of our young away support and their exuberant behaviour, some get up my nose. I accept that that is down to my age but also accept that I was young once. Whilst I didn't 'sniff' at all and don't condone it in any way shape or form (in fact I think it abhorrent), the only issue I have with our young travelling support is the lack of respect for others. Rightly or wrongly, I will always talk to these young lads and cajole them to sit down for example if they are impeding the view of others that would prefer to sit. Almost without exception, they always comply and understand and never have I been confronted. We have a growing and enthusiastic support amongst youngsters and it needs to be harnessed and encouraged to grow, (whilst being managed by us 'elder statesmen' who were young once in much tougher times!) Bring it on in 22/23.....WE ARE The Rovers!!!
  15. Simon, I've answered you privately and personally. I stand by what I said, in so much that as a club, Mowbray's impending departure should have been handled in a much more dignified manner than it would appear to have been the case. I don't agree with much that has gone on with regards to how the club has generally been run, as well you know, despite the unerring and continued financial support from the owners, particularly during the pandemic when revenue/income was next to zero. I'll leave it there.
  16. Status Quo - Down Down, (Deeper and Down) (Re Rovers: Yazoo - The Only Way is UP! 😉)
  17. Absolutely 'half right': Kids?.....there's a few already in the first team squad and some absolute corkers waiting to come on in the wings. Make absolute no mistake, this next couple of years could be Blackburn Rovers equivalent of Sir Alex Ferguson's 'class of '92", if managed correctly! I've already said my thoughts on Mowbray. Agents?......they are the absolute parasitical scum of the earth and the absolute dearth of professional football in England (IMO).
  18. `With reluctance, I fully agree. It is what it is and it doesn't always need a sledgehammer to crack a nut!
