  1. Hopefully the summer transfer window will be carried out, with us still in the Championship, but I agree, we will now no money again. Assuming that is the case and we again, either go for loans and freebies, or even press some wrong buttons, hopefully someone will take Waggott to task and ask where all the money is really going.
  2. Especially as other teams have done even more than Everton, yet nothing done so far with them.
  3. Sounds great that and no doubt the game changing into what it is today, has been at the detriment of what was enjoyed in those days. Slightly before my time, but I heard some great stories about the sixties and early seventies from Brian, when we had our weekly catch up every Wednesday. I don't half miss those chats and especially the people from all walks of life who used to pop into his office to see him and reminisce.
  4. Cheers. I remember him telling a few good stories about Frannie Lee.
  5. Was the late Brian Pilkington in that side, or had me moved on to Bolton by then?
  6. It is only a very small snapshot at the minute, but until he increased his win percentage for the current 0% I can't be convinced about this manager. We have 3 very big games coming up and a 7 point return, has got to be the aim.
  7. I could be wrong, but think being on the bench and not actually coming on, does not actually count as being cup tied.
  8. Very said that. I remember him coming into the side on a hiding to nothing, after we sold Roger Jones. He certainly earned his corn and got a move himself to Wolves. My fondest memory of him, was him winning save of the season a Granada TV competition, with a brilliant double save and I remember going to school bragging about it, as I was one of only two Rovers fans in my class, despite it being a Blackburn based school. The Liverpool, Leeds and Man U fans amongst my mates, were envious at the time. RIIP Paul and my deepest sympathy to all his friends and family.
  9. The statement about the business being insolvent has been made so far as I know for several years. I don't see a player sale, granted a big one, will replace the on going declaration form the owners about their funding. My feelings are, if the court block the funding, then something has to give, be that administration or a sale.
  10. Buckley certainly has the potential to become a play maker. He has flattered deceive at times, but there is a player in there.
  11. It has to go hand in hand with a message that they must sell the club. The accountants make a statement each year to say the club is reliant on the owners funding the shortfall each year, otherwise it is insolvent. They can hardly apply that statement to the next accounts, if the court are stopping the funding.
  12. Does it really matter what we got for him, as we are already told despite the record signing, we are skint. With the Armstrong money and now this, we have had well over £30 million in, but just wait until the summer, as we spend nothing yet again.
  13. They are obviously under serious scrutiny here and those who think it is a formality that the funds are going to be approved (I include Waggott in that ), may be in for a big surprise
  14. They are scared of someone doing a deep dive and finding out some serious issues. The Indian press article, already states they have made illegal remittances and I suspect they haven’t even scratched the surface,
  15. I had just heard that too. Best wishes to him and his family and hope it is something me makes a full and speedy recovery from.
  16. They have tried to make out it was a simple case of the wrong button being pressed. In isolation that perhaps could be believed, but given what happened last year and also no person as yet has been held responsible, it beggars belief. It remains to be seen how Broughton dresses this up, but I can't see him admitting to it being deliberate sabotage, as that is exactly how it appears to me right now.
  17. He was spending £3 per day on parking.
  18. Well the project has changed again. Perhaps it’s changed for the worse, as playing the way we did will not add value to anyone, in fact the total opposite. Perhaps we will look back at the end of the season and deeply regret appointing Eustace, as I have a horrible feeling that the goals are about to dry up, big time. Yes, we were very exposed at the back under JDT but with the slick movement and quick interchange, we looked capable of getting a few and as already said by two different posters, that system led to Szmodics, being pretty lethal. He will not get many more if any, if we carry on playing like this and neither will Gallagher. Saturday has already become big and if we lose that, then I think the manager will be under a lot of early pressure and the fans may well be on his back, earlier than they perhaps should be. Its becoming a real concern for me and I can’t help looking down the league and seeing us slipping into the drop zone. We need a couple of wins and quickly, but I don’t see where the are coming from, especially after that performance.
  19. in some ways Holt needs to be a bit careful, as the casual fan, who might want to see them do well, but are long standing Rovers fans, may well have second thoughts in future.
  20. I suspect you are right about lots of fans not knowing who Suhail is. I have always been vey suspicious about him and I am pretty sure he is in regular contact with the owners and is the one who makes the key decisions on a day to day basis. I suspect for example that no signing can be approved without him giving it the green light and likewise withy a sale. I think he will continue to try to hide, so maybe putting some pressure on him, is the logical way to get some real answers.
  21. The accountants will deem us to be trading insolvent, so you would hope the league would step in. If not then eventually we would go into administration. How long that would take is debatable.
  22. Amazing really that we don’t know who pressed the wrong button!!! The cynic in me says that the owners order that no money has to be spent on transfers, so we switch the deal to a loan. That in turn ties us into paying a much higher fee for him in the summer, by which time we could be in league one. A very convenient mistake occurs (yet again) which means that the loan does not take place and now we don’t know who made the mistake and no one has been disciplined for it or dismissed. In the meantime a meeting is held, where some players ask a few fans not to boo any more as it is putting them off.
