  1. Our position really does hammer home the point though doesnt it? If you are going for promotion all this avoiding defeat stuff is largely bollocks. People always love these runs of 10, 12 or 15 games unbeaten etc, but if half of them are draws..? The key is winning games and don't worry about loosing along the way!
  2. Crazy comment! He was a fixture of our midfield for not far off a decade. Remember Croft scoring a scorcher against Chelsea in our early season title challenge in 97/98
  3. Couldn't find another Sam Gally thread.. I think today shows that if you play him in the right position and give him some service he can do a job at this level. Yes he is inconsistent and yes he misses plenty of good chances, but stop all this wide forward bollox and you've got a guy who can get many 15 goals a season.. Works hard, good in the air and a powerful strike on him
  4. Sack Bruce and immediately WBA win away from home against 4th placed Reading. Doesn't really surprise me. Bruce is done
  5. Fantastic result. Yet more evidence for the round pegs in round holes mentality. Who would have thought playing Gally down the middle as a striker and Brittain as rwb (instead of a left footed attacking player) would work? To think if we'd won at Wigan (a side who hadn't won at home for donkeys) we'd be sitting here 2 points clear top of the league!
  6. Needs to sort himself out. I'm livid after tonight. Wrong players, wrong tactics. Hirst is shite. Why isn't dack playing? Where is Markandy? Why are shoeing Hedges into rwb when you have just bought one in the summer for a million quid?? Alot of questions to be answered. Utterly pathetic again. STOP THE TIPPY TAPPY SHITE AROUND OUR OWN BOX!!!
  7. Absolutely fucking pathetic. Wigan are utter shit and we haven't had a shot on target. Wrong personnel, wrong tactics, my dead grandma could have told you that. Jdt, fucking clueless
  8. On the other side of that, we haven't scored a 90th min or later equaliser or winner for over a season. I mean I can't even remember the last time we did..!
  9. Burnley are almost as bad at conceding late goals as we are at scoring them!
  10. If anyone wants cheering up after last night's debacle, might wanna check out the wba Twitter feed. Every time opposition score or its half time/full time there are 100s of comments abusing Bruce. Great entertainment
  11. What's with all the playing it out from the back bollocks? I thought we established by mocking various other teams and nicking goals and points off them that it doesn't work at this level. And then we've gone and turned around and started inexplicably doing it ourselves?!
  12. Hirst is utter dogshit. Send him back to leicester. Number 1 target all summer? Someone's having a laugh aren't they? Or on the take.
  13. Here's one for this season. Dilan Markanday. How can he not get a chance ahead of some of that shower tonight. Has he been seen with JDT's missus or something?
  14. Although fit, left out of the match day squad for the game against watford...
  15. I think he must have seen this thread based on the last couple of weeks!!
  16. I keep waking up (I live in nz) expecting Bruce to be sacked. Looks like he's hung on for another weekend!
  17. What's happened to the u21 coverage? Last season there were twitter updates whilst matches were on, match reports etc. This season nothing? You have to go to the opossition websites to find out anything.
  18. Wba are struggling cos they have an abysmal dinosaur of a manager. A half decent one would walk that squad to promotion. I mean they've drawn 6 of 8 games. Ridiculous
  19. I've seen a few threads with poster's thoughts/opinions on SS. So as to not bung up those threads and to give a consise place to discuss our highest xfer fee purchase during the window I thought I'd start a new thread. I know it is really early days and I don't want to judge a player too early. However I must say that I'm underwhelmed thus far. It appears we have a over paid for a relatively limited player. And I'm still not quite sure what he is supposed to offer that Dack couldn't?
  20. A bit early for all of this but still, reasonable set of results tonight. What is clear is that this is the weakest champ for a long while. Although it may change, Norwich and Burnley don't have the look of a fulham/bournemouth. Could build a nice little buffer with beating Reading!
  21. What a fantastic victory! This was a real test and we passed it with flying colours. Hopefully Brittain and Phillips will be ok for Wed, we certainly need bodies through the door! I also added the below to the JDT thread but thought it appropriate here too. What struck me after beating WBA was the difference in the 2 managers. Wba have an excellent squad that has cost a lot of money to assemble. Yes they are missing a main focal point striker at the moment, but we had men out at the back. However we managed to prevail, largely because or how much better a manager I think JDT is compared to Bruce. Bruce is stale, old fashioned, makes excuses, says the same soundbites. JDT on the other hand is young, progressive, attention to detail, enthusiastic and is demanding of the players. I truly believe that if the roles had been reversed (ie Bruce managed us and JDT Wba) that they would have battered us today. Wba may still go up, but it will be in spite of Bruce as opposed to because of him.

  23. No chance of that I'm afraid, there are a whole heap of League 1/2 teams at home against prem teams which tv usually prefer. Theyre spoilt for choice with all the lower league teams knocking out championship teams.
  24. God I love JDT. Classic football manager type behaviour. Doesn't matter if the player is out of position, more important is the rest for the first teamer.
