  1. I agree bell has improved over the last few weeks although yesterday he seemed reluctant to run and drive into the space in front of him, again his main quality and attribute. Not blaming bell because he was clearly under instruction but the amount of times he stopped and played it back to the CBs when he could of drove forward was irritating
  2. No I don’t think he’s lying. Just saying what I saw but the highlights don’t show lenihans starting point and I wasn’t focusing on lenihan at the match so when I saw him receive the ball my initial reaction was offside. I also wouldn’t just accept he was onside because our manager said he was. How many times do you hear a manager say that on match of the day to be proven wrong. Not saying he is wrong just rather see it myself before blindly backing someone’s else
  3. Why do people keep saying if we had Dack and Rothwell like we haven’t had them for the last two seasons and been bored out of Ewood without a shot on target. It’s not a new thing in light of the injuries. We had both on that awful run last year. Couldn’t buy a win. Luton, Barnsley , Wigan, charlton, cardiff this season off top of my head. All who have far inferior wage and transfer structure. It’s no excuse. Sick to death of finding justification for garbage
  4. My initial reaction was offside and on the quest highlights also looked off. Unless we get a proper angle I guess we will never know but to make it easier to take, one point, no points, it really doesn’t matter anymore. The only thing that mattered is Costello got a good hour or so and five or six thousand blokes dodged shopping trips and menial chores. COYB
  5. Yeah but i made my staff use there left hand when they were clearly right handed . When that didn’t work I put the laptop in the bathroom and spent six million on a type writer. When my boss asked in January where the rest of the report was I said I couldn’t afford paper to print the reports out because I had spent the budget on an overpriced typewriter that didnt work.... then I got fired . I said I wasn’t ready to leave yet but apparently my boss didn’t give a shit and now I’m on the dole. After reading posts on hear I was sure my boss would be more understanding
  6. I love reading your opinion and particularly look for your posts as they are well written, fair and you clearly have a good knowledge of the game and all things rovers. I would ask though, regardless of injuries and the opposition , at home, one half baked shot from Gallagher 20 minutes from time doesn’t strike you as worrying ? With the ball we looked clueless until the substitions when we reverted to hoofing at the big lads, hardly a tactical masterclass and something big Sam got slated for. So the question is are you happy with watching a manager serve up football with so little entertainment and virtually no goal threat. And it isn’t a one off through injuries or opposition
  7. Today was another shot shy, dull game on a cold and dire afternoon I thought Nyambe was outstanding today, possibly the best game I’ve seen him play and whilst travis also played well I couldn’t believe my ears when he got man of the match. The team fought hard and pressed well but where poor in possession. I was also surprised how well Armstrong did at winning the ball and his hold up play against a big centre half. Lenihan was very good defensively but gave the ball away sloppily at times. johnson was woeful and davenport really needs to get a proper chance in the middle with travis. Walton has potential but at the minute it is just that and to many times looked nervous under pressure. Rankin Costello didn’t have any effect on the game but I’m not going to comment more on a young lad still learning his trade against far superior players but substituting him was the right decision and hopefully the experience will do him good. The substitutions graham made a difference when he came on and is criminally underused by mr Mowbray. Bremerton only got a few minutes but still managed to show how little bottle he has by wimping out of headers and Samuel is the same Samuel I remember struggling in league one. Two poor players who are lucky to have a squad number. Gallagher gets some unfair stick imo. Every man with eyes can see he can’t play the position he is being asked to but he still gives 100% which brings me to my last point. The manager. We have injuries, we are playing (on paper) a better team and the game was so poor because that’s exactly how Tony wanted the players to play. It was obvious before the interview he did. The players did as they were told and as Gary bowyer once or twice said gave it a good go. However , the Blackburn rovers I know and fell in love with isn’t a team that gets set up to nullify games at home. We should be on the front foot and going for a win whenever we play at Ewood. This is exactly what fans like myself get so mad about. If we are to get out of this league we need belief that we can beat these teams. Christ, we should at least try. One shot on target that I can remember isn’t good enough and if Dack and Rothwell played it would have been the same story because Tony is far to negative And cautious and it cost us a relegation and it will cost us any chance of promotion. It won’t excite fans and bring them back to Ewood, if anything it will stop already committed fans renewing. Boring, turgid crap football and ffs get Gallagher up front, on the bench or on the transfer list and play a winger who can beat a man and cross a ball. Why is he trying to cross to Armstrong. Surly his size and strength is his main attribute that needs utilising in the right way. We were good out of possession today but with the ball absolutely clueless and that’s down to Tony. As long as he his hear it’s going to Be more poor signings, players out of position, boring uninspired football, we gave it a go nearly men. I don’t care how nice he is he can’t take us forward and his interview saying Costello would never be a Dack in a million years must have done his confidence the world of good. I will give him credit for actually giving the lad a game. I’m sorry but Tony hasn’t got what we need.
  8. No need I will be there and probably have a raft of things moan about by then myself ?
  9. I really want to see davenport in the middle with travis. I honestly think this would be an excellent partnership and give travis the freedom to burst forward and do what he did at boro. I just think they would compliment each other really well.
  10. And if there son is “football mad” and will one day be signing the cheques this is going to be one hell of a ride. Like it or not it looks like there here to stay (gulp)
  11. Your right and I completely agree with you. The question is can Mowbray over achieve which is what we all desperately need and want. Unfortunately the answer is a resounding no. ive met tony and been to these things before and heard the same waffle spouted two years ago, almost identical in fact. Heard the same drivel from coyle and bowyer to. Nobody I know or heard doesn’t like Tony the man but he has to be judged on his transfer policy , his tactics, team selection and results . There is no doubting his current results are good but like last season, to many poor team selections and negative tactics will see us fall short. Like you say he needs to over achieve and be smart in the transfer window to do this , three defensive loans and 7 million on a Dud won’t get us out of this league. That’s isn’t smart, logical and doesn’t show the hallmarks of someone who is going to over achieve. the Mis use of nyambe, Rothwell, Gallagher has Been at times criminal. To over achieve you need a clear and decisive plan and to build year on year to achieve it. Tony talks a good game and has all the passion in the world but re signing the likes of gladwin, Smallwood etc on contracts when we have a small budget isn’t smart business and the money needs to be put to better use to give Us half a chance at over achieving. Its the minute details that helps clubs over achieve . Aging players and no goalkeepers plus the same defence as the one he inherited at the start of next season don’t show me or put faith in me that this honest likeable man can be the ruthless , savvy wheeler dealer we need to get us where we not only need to Be but belong.
  12. Beyond insulting Maybe they have earmarked a way round ffp for the big promotion push by finding a sponsor for the stand or maybe they are just ignoring what the fans wants in the same way jacks legacy gets ignored. why not change car park c to the tony car Parkes ffs
  13. Fair play to anyone that went to listen to the same speech for the sixth time
  14. I paid 25 quid for the Blackburn end for this Saturday against Fulham and I’m an 1875 member. I dread to think what non members are paying on the day
  15. Signed good on ya for doing this. Tony Parkes blue and white army
  16. I fear a bit of a mauling here but this is rovers so who knows. I’m going for 3-1 to fulham. Hope im wrong obviously. I’d like to see a travis davenport midfield but it’s highly unlikely. COYB
  17. That’s a great idea . Can’t think of a more fitting gesture to a man that fully deserves it
  18. Neither is happening of course just thought I’d join in ?
  19. Whilst I completely agree with your post I do understand the sentiment behind what joe is saying. There are players in the youth set up who, given a fair crack wouldn’t be worse than what we have
  20. I will be making my way down for this one . I expect a quite evenly contested dull hard fought match with a draw or 1-0 either way. We need to get three points if we are serious about the playoffs . I don’t think we will get anywhere near but now is the time to prove me wrong COYB
