Offsides - VAR should get one freeze frame and if you can't tell within 10 seconds then go with the onfield decision.
Other decisions, if there needs to ve a review, the ref should go to the monitor for it straight away. The ref needs to make sure that what he saw happen, happened the way he remembered it. No clear and obvious bollocks. It'll save time if the ref ran to the monitor saw a couple of angles and made a decision rather than have VAR look at it and send the ref to the monitor after 3 minutes.
Ref standards have plummeted since VAR came in and I think it's cos refs and linesmen let things go cos they know that VAR will pick up any howlers. However when VAR look at it they say its not clear and obvious and stick with the onfield decision

Pen all day long. Clear handball.
I see pep is moaning about the scheduling like he doesn't have two starting 11s that could beat any team outside of Liverpool and Arsenal with ease.

Lol at City getting knocked out by Madrid. Thank god the talk of back to back champions leagues and double trebles is over.
Liverpool surrendered to atalanta. That was so far removed from peek klopp Liverpool I'm flabbergasted. Shocking lack of urgency and deserve to crash out.

The way Bellingham plays and talks is like someone whose been playing for 15 years. Still only 20, he will be a big big player for England

A draw is a let down
It's a let down in the context of we shouldn't be losing the game. Purely mathematically a point is fantastic.

Advantage City - FFS anyone but them

we need alot of signings this summer?
Current squad for next season
keepers - Pears, Wahlstedt, Michalski
Defenders - Brittain, Carter, Hyam, Wharton, O'Riordan, Pickering,
CM's - Tronstad, Garrett, Buckley, JRC, Travis
wide players - Dolan, Markanday, Sigurdsson, Hedges,
no 10 - Szmodics, Gilsenan
Strikers - Gallagher, Vale, Telalovic, Leonard
I have included Dolan and Gallagher cos I expect them to sign next contract.
I'm in the forever optimistic camp but I think we need a lot of work this summer. The squad you've listed is thin but then consider the likes of Brittain, JRC and hedges who will miss games through injury and the ones who either blow hot and cold (Buckley, Siggy, Leonard, Markanday) or have let proved themselves yet (Vale, gilsenan, the 17 year old GK etc) the you've got a relegation squad.
Of that squad I expect Sammie to be sold. I can't picture Gallagher being here, I think the powers above will want his wages off the books. Dolan is the one I can see eventually signing a new contract and still being here. I think we've got a team who on their day could go head to head with anyone in the championship- as we proved yesterday- but not a squad who could sustain it over the full season.
In my mind we need
1 gk
2x defenders to cover RB, CB and LB
1x creative midfielder
2x wingers
2x No 10s - one to replace Sammie and one to provide cover. How we've managed to milk Sammie for the number of minutes we have is crazy and a testament to the guys fitness.
2x Strikers - one was needed any way and we'll need someone to replace Gallagher if he goes
That's my optimistic take on what the squad needs

and he had to completely overhaul the team's playstyle (especially in defence).
The other thing that is overlooked is how little time he had on the training pitch in those first few weeks with games coming thick and fast.

Sheff Weds 5 points behind us, effectively 6 with goal difference. Huddersfield 5 points behind. All with 3 games to go. You'd THINK we're home and dry now but then you'd also have thought we'd getting something at Bristol and then get pasted by Leeds.
I feel at ease now. We won't lose all 3 of the last games which leaves Huddersfield and Sheff Weds and others needing 3 belting results.

Just imagine how fuming you'd be if one win would put you top of the league and you lose to us! Think that's us safe, I thought 50 points would do I can't see us not getting that.

That should do it...

Surely we wouldn’t pay north of £100k for someone we could lose for a compensation fee?
What from the last few years makes you think we wouldn't 🤣

"Material uncertainty exists that may cast doubt on the company’s ability to continue as a going concern"
No matter the club and no matter the owners, at the point that this is written into the accounts in black and white by independent auditors, the relevant authorities should be stepping in and taking actions against the owners.
"Profit and sustainability rules" - we're not in profit and we're no longer sustainable. If that's not a breach of the rules then the rules aren't worth the paper they're written on.

(perhaps it has been from what it would have been without the Wharton sale).
You'd have thought it would have been dated post-january if they'd amended the wording following the sale of Wharton

Kaminski and Ash Phillips along with Tayo Edun and a couple of youngsters?
I thought it should include Wharton but then noticed the dates.

The timing of football club accounts isn't helpful. Being made up till end of June and then not due till March, means that by the time they've been published, there's been two transfer windows and the whole picture could have changed drastically.

How are wages POSSIBLY up?!
Ayala, Dack, Kaminski, BBD (reported to be our top earners) all left in the summer and weren't replaced.
Aren't the accounts up to end of June 23? so those wages would still be in those figures.

We deserved something out of Ipswich, bossed Sunderland and got a great draw against Southampton. Why don't you think we'd get atleast one win out of Bristol City, Sheffield or Coventry?
I think we'd have to exceed all expectations of shitness to not hit 50 points.

Fantastic watching man utd lose. Especially to two soft soft penalties and especially deep into injury time.
96mins Man utd 3 Chelsea 2. Its almost arousing.
The only downside is palmer getting a hattrick has buggered my fantasy league a little.

If that outcome, after relegation and administration, were assured, I'd wish it.
Agree but it's a low bar. I'd currently be over the moon if the Venkys sold us to a steaming pile of dog poo.
-
If we're in league 1 and go into administration I imagine he knows enough money to buy us.
-
Well that's a £150 fine so that's blown our summer transfer budget.

If we want accuracy, get a system that allows accuracy to be achieved quickly. We don't want people agnosing over a couple of pixels on the screen. VAR has allowed the offside rule to be changed. Now if you are level, chances are you'll be ruled off cos you'll have a leg hair over the line.
There's also the margin of error that comes with var. You can't tell the exact moment someone touches the ball you just know it is at some point between frame A and frame B. At 50 FPS, that means you know someone touched the ball at some point in a 0.02 second period. In that time period a player at a decent sprint speed of 30kph (8.3 metres per second) moves around 16cm.
So it's not quite as objective as you think. Better technology is needed if you want to start arguing over toenails being offside.
