Well it wouldn't be us would it? if it were us he'd have been stood outside an IBIS for a week waiting for Madame to approve someone buying him a bacon butty while he waits to figure out what the hell is going on. -

I agree. It is comforting to think that someone is doing this on purpose and that it'll all be uncovered and they're sent to jail and we get our club back but I instinctively think you're right that it is just rank incompetence, arrogance, ignorance, pride, ego and a bit more incompetence to top it off. -

My maths isn't missing something is it. I keep seeing the arguments that it's all down to the fans who don't attend. Say for example we got 10,000 extra in the crowd. If they were all ST holders that's 10k x £400ish = £4m. Or if theyre all on the day at about £25 per game, over 23 games that's £5.75m. So we'd £4-6m extra income per season before taking into account the extra costs of hosting an extra 10,000 people and ignoring the fact youd have to do something with the price to get that extra crowd. Is that really touching the side of the losses we're making? Useful yes but solving all our problems? -

The bit in bold is key for me. So much has gone on that I forget it all, much less able to pluck key articles and documents if challenged on it. We need to turn fans that either aren't looking under the bonnet or are in complete denial. -

I agree with you there, he either comes out and gives and honest answer about this shit show or he hands in his resignation -

A bad workmen always blames his tools - that only works if he's been given tools in the first place. -

Is it? We could let him go for free and suddenly 15k gets slashed from the wage budget. It's seemingly the only card Broughton is allowed to play. -

"Made by Walker, Destroyed by Roas" then? You don't want to get sidetracked explaining why your message isn't racist. I agree it's a stupid argument but just don't give them the option to start with. -

Interestingly it seems directed at waggot and suhail and not Broughton. -

We could do with a quick links page or something. I occasionally get into it with people on Facebook (usually whilst giving baby the bottle) but don't have relevant articles or links to hand and don't have time to dig them out and find them again. Just seen someone disputing that the Vs are under investigation. Would be so much easier if I could just quickly grab a link rather than have to find it all over again. -

We might have to turn the penalty box into a softplay centre to achieve that. -
Change the manager, change the players change the ceo - it doesn't matter it'll be same shit different day. Get rid of the real cancer in the club, only when the venkys fuck off can we become a decent club again. The last two seasons we've been in the process of throwing away our play off chances around about this stage - now we're fighting relegation. To me there's no difference - shit results surrounded by a complete lack of ambition and decency at the club. I'd rather be in league 2 giving promotion a real good go as a proper club than bobbing up and down in the championship with o hope or soul left in the club.

Education is the most important thing at this stage but only if people are willing to listen. Two key arguments I'm seeing 1. "I'm no fan of the venkys but who us going to buy us" 2. "I just wish people would understand FFP" before then going on to list covid losses and funding of the academy as two areas we've spent money -

I have vague memories of the 90s but my core Rovers memories are the tail end of Souness and into Mark Hughes. I can remember when we were a well run club with some cracking players. I'd say anyone under the age of 20 will only properly remember the venky era which is a sad thought. -

If he goes it'll be a shitter. The first person through the door in venkys time with an ounce of ambition, decency and talent and probably the last for some time. I'm only 31 and I feel like I've already given up hope of ever seeing Rovers back in the Premier League. -

You know what's going to happen with Mcguire don't you either 1. Total flop 2. Scores 15+ between now and the end of the season but venkys refuse to release the funds to take up the option to buy. -

I think "bare minimum" sums up the window perfectly. At one point though it didn't look like we were able to get that done so the late flurry may scew some people's perception of how good the window was. -

I won't pass any judgement on the players we've bought in until we've seen them play. I agree with the post above about players being written off too early. This liverpool lad for example could be Mola or he could be Hill. However what we can pass judgement on is that our already threadbare squad has been plugged with 7-8 players who won't be here next season. We've kicked the can down the road but I don't think we'll see any of the Wharton money to bolster the squad. We've had to sell Wharton to keep the lights on and in the process we've kneecapped our manager, DoF and the whole recruitment team
