  1. Never understood why some loaning clubs expect the full wage paid on players.
  2. Yup Forest sold a player to Olympiakos this season or last for an undisclosed fee.
  3. A gamble for sure. I do feel that we will sell one of the other of AA or BD. I think BD was to be off to WBA until his injury anyway. You either play to BD strengths and build the team round him or do it with AA, not sure both of them works.
  4. I dont think they all would in the current climate, arguably in the previous climate either. Dack pre-injury certainly but even shelling out 10 million on him now comes with a huge risk. Lenihan is certainly not worth 10 million and I think Travis needs another good season like this one to get close to that value. Can only be AA in my opinion.
  5. Has to AA right? Dont think Travis could command that sort of fee (just yet) and we know that goalscorers with pace come at a premium.
  6. Yeah, this is not something happening imminently - probably a little closer to xmas (two birds with one stone as can call it his gift haha) As for GTA, I will try to go down the good parent role initially - so no violent games (for him anyway). This is why a large collection of game choice is important.
  7. Ok, question. So I have primarily been a PC gamer over the years (about 30+) although I did have a lot of the earlier consoles ranging from the Sega Master System, Megadrive, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, PS1 and PS2 as a youngster as well. I stopped buying them after that as I didn't have the time and was already more than satisfied with gaming on a PC. I am getting an itch to get back into console gaming a little more, especially as my 8-year old is now showing an interest whenever I am playing my games. Feel like a console is a better option for us to play together. My question is, would it be worth getting a PS4 now as obviously, the PS5 is arriving later in the year. My thoughts are that the PS5 in the first year will be very expensive while the PS4 will be at its cheapest. The PS5 will have a limited range of games compared to the PS4 initially at least. I have also been told that it is not a good idea to get new generation consoles in the first year due to potential issues (red ring of death and the like previously) that may need ironing out. For a couple of years at least, I have also been told that new titles will be backwards compatible with the PS4. He is not old enough to be at that age where he has to have the latest gadgets just yet so just thought that the PS4 would be the best option for now. Get a couple of years worth of fun out of it before upgrading to the PS5. Thoughts and advice welcome.
  8. Ha, yep, the whole post ruined by literally the last word.
  9. Some good shouts for keepers on here, there are plenty that should be attainable. The Charlton keeper is a good shout, I like Marshall at Wigan and then there are tons of good foreign keepers available for nothing. The fantasist in me would go for Luca Zidane, with his father being that average former midfielder and current manager of a small Spanish club, to have that connection could lead to some exciting loan signings going forward. Then again, why do we need Zidane when we have the Canadian.
  10. Even if we did prioritise Whiteman over the left back, we still wont get him. The way things are done here, we would miss out on him anyway as other clubs are far more proactive.
  11. Good point - it was often muted that Coyle was the cheapest option.
  12. The fact that we even got into a position of having Bennett and Walton in our backline is borderline criminal itself. Bell for me would be a backup LB. At least Nyambe has some athleticism and looks bothered. We need a LB and we certainly need a CB (two in fact) and a GK. That has to be the minimum. You know we will get two of them and then a couple of loans.
  13. Yep the neglect of the defense. Mismanagement of funds to spend all that money on the front line and neglect the back line. Wouldn't mind so much if our supposed multi-million strikers knew where the net was. Then again, they are wingers in the eyes of TM. You just know that it is going to be a couple of freebies and a couple of loans once again. Then on deadline day we will stump up for another CM or misfiring striker.
  14. It is mindboggling that with the money we have spent in the past few seasons and the fact we have not 'had' to sell anyone off, that we are still in a position where we need at least 5 players of starting pedigree. A GK, a LB, two CB's and a new DG. That's half a team almost.
  15. He was and has always been considered an excellent finisher - in fact he was classed as the best finisher at Newcastle many years ago. Not sure they have really improved that as it seems something he is just natural at. I would agree that his all-round game has come on a bit but the lad is a CF and not really one of these fancy wide-forwards. He has got better at that admittedly but so he should as that is the position he played for Bolton and Birmingham(?) previously when on loan - so had plenty of practice by now. As for the rest of the post, yes we finished 3 points better off but fell short of our own managers target. We now have to undergo a huge overhaul in the transfer window yet again because we bought in a couple of misfiring strikers. Not only do we now have to hope that 'defenders are coming' yet again, but also that we might actually get a goalkeeper. On top of that, our best all-round striker has left meaning we now have to hope and prey that these misfiring strikers learn hoe to play football in the next few weeks.
  16. Would be the best bonus they ever paid out if he manages it. Also shows the confidence of the man.
  17. We dont live in Russia, England is a very small country. You are seriously telling me that Reed would reject all northerm clubs because of his girlfriend? If the money is right and his career would be enhanced, he would be off.
  18. Versatile, can cross, good range of passing (and accurate), gets the odd goal and is a model pro to boot. Yes his form dipped but you could say that for quite a few players during the lockdown period. Another year is a bit of a risk but at the right price its a gable worth taking. Watch TM sign him up on a 3-year deal though.
  19. And to think we would have probably been first in the queue. Could have had him wrapped up early and in the bag log before anyone else came sniffing around. In the end, TM probably thought it would be in the bag and messed around spending money on SG before throwing in a lowball offer for HR at the last minute. Reed and Travis in midfield this season would have been terrific - you would fancy them against anyone.
  20. Grab Marshall from Wigan while they cant say no, sign up Whitman before one of the other CH clubs beats us to it and then work on defenders are coming mk.II. Get Cuningham back and a couple of CBs.
  21. That story links directly to this transfer thread in the Whiteman section - which means the rumor came directly from Sparks.
  22. Nothing wrong with improving on what we have but yeah only if we have an adequate budget left over for our more pressing needs
  23. Yep, home kits will always be the top seller, so release them last. Tempt them first with the training kit and away kit as most will always get the home kit anyway.
