We heard that a while ago when we were on our WLWL run "it's not long till that streak turns to LLL" we promptly went on a 4 game winning run

Don't comment very often, but enjoy the ride most fans would admit they would not expect us to be 2nd at this point of the season ( New manager, Young player's ). But fans are so negative complain about everything, always can do better !!

Expecting abuse, but look at where we are and are progressing in all areas.

Absolutely buzzing today! Play like this consistently for the rest of the season and we can start dreaming. Rodders and Travis are like new signings and I have to give it to AA who has really upped his game lately. Dack and DG slighlty off form but it shows we have others that can step up.

Thought Graham gave a masterclass in hold up centre forward play today

Point is? Are you saying nuttall is a good player? If so I won't value any of your future comments.

    No, but 1st game in 23 !!

Why be negative before a ball is kicked, Nutall did ok in a tough game.

It was not a good game but more down to Millwall at home with 4 x wins on the bounce than Rovers.

3 Points is all that matters, but some posters always find something when we win or plenty when we lose !! IMO

  4. There is a lot of bullshit on here, lots of dreamers !!!

Realism is in short supply, people have short memories.

I understand that it's about opinions but we are work in progress and yes we have got weaknesses  ( late goals etc)

If we win the other side are crap and we lose we should have won,  no credit where due ?

  5. Hi All

Tough game away at Middlesborough tomorrow at the Riverside,  they are as expected up near the top but did lose 3-0 to Villa in their last home game.

I unfortunately cannot make the game tomorrow as I have a boys day out in Skipton (twice yearly catch up with old friends) will be messy !!  Been to Borough twice before both at Ayresome park and both times remember it was one of the coldest grounds I had ever been to ( 0 -0 in 1985 crowd 5,000 ish and 3 - 0 win in 1990 crowd 15,000 ish).

Middlesborough are nicknamed Boro or the Smoggies and we're a founder member of the premier league with Rovers, but we're one of the teams relegated in that first season.

Inter club fact - 96/97 season Boro were deducted 3 points by the PL for failing to fulfill their fixture against Rovers.

There have been quite a number of recent connections between the clubs:

Tony Mowbray, Mark Venus, Danny Graham, Richie Smallwood, Stuart Ripley, Harry Chapman, Paul Ince, Craig Higgnet, Yakubu, Marcus Bent, Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede.

    Area Facts

Yarm great place for a beer similar to Clitheroe and you would often see footballers past and present (Gary Pallister last time there)

If you are a golfer, two good links courses  ( Seaton Carew and Cleveland) but also inland is the new set up at Rockliffe Hall where Boro have there training ground, it is magnificent and is owned by Steve Gibson who owns Boro.

Let's hope for a Rovers win and kick start our tough festive period, I will leave all the team formations to everyone else !!

Mennie has been huge disappointment. Why he was signed I dont care.

Why Brown, Chanderpaul, Croft, Lamb, Lester are at the Club I dont know. Not good enough.

We need 2 batsman and 2 bowlers. 2 batsman to bat 3 and 5 plus 2 pace bowlers. Parkinson is a good quality spinner.

I agree in general, I think Lester will improve as he is only young and possibly Lamb and Parkinson is the shining light but the rest have been poor.

The Kent pitch was awful. Not the sort of pitch that should be played on.

    Jennings and Parkinson played well.

Still think Lancs need 3 or 4 players to improve the 4 day cricket side.

I agree especially with Jordan Clark leaving at the end of the season to join Surrey on a 3 year contract

Who would have predicted Bolton starting this well? You have to hand it to Parkinson, he's done a very good job there in difficult circumstances.

Spoke to a mate this morning who is a Wanderers fan, he reckons Jason Lowe was MOM at Reading and he is a cracking player  !!!!!

Hard to say but I think a draw was probably a fair result.  The Morrison shot that hit the inside of the post looked bound to go in from where we were stood. A poor first half but second was very different.  I’d be disappointed to see Williams come back in for Bell as he did pretty well.  Dack’s first half free kick was met by a great save, Rothwell had a great shot.  I think people are being a touch harsh on Graham as he did well to get to the ball and hold off the defenders for his two chances, first one he realized just too late that he should have passed to Dack, Millwall keeper did well too, though obviously would have expected DG to put at least one of them away.  It’s easy to overreact but Millwall did also play in the game and did so well in the first half.  Palmer looked good but not much end product yet, he also started to get more and more out of position and stopped defending so that’s why TM took him off.  Midfield needs someone who can pass, the manager knows this I think so hopefully the loanee we get is a good one, a real shame we didn’t go for McGinn earlier, sounds perfect.

I wouldn’t worry too much at this stage, we were pretty good first game and showed in patches we can play today.  We will get at least another couple of players, hopefully ones that will go straight into the team.  Ind My think anyone was particularly bad today though.

Great post, also just to add their goalkeeper was man of the match on their forums and got a special mention from their manager Neil Harris, which also backs up the stats page.

They would both want to be upfront. Which would be willing to sit on the bench with Graham?

Options are needed, look at Spurs they need to spend 30 + million for a bench warmer to cover for Kane

They are in short supply which ever the level is, unless you throw crazy money at it

I'd rather take a forward who had a goals to games ratio of 1 in every 2 League One games (Armstrong) than 1 in every 6 last season and 1 in every 4 the season before in the Championship (Gallagher).

Hopefully would take both, it would bring versitlity and options !!

He could have been here for 56 games and it wouldn't have mattered, as I'm sure Josh King would attest.

Just noticed Barrow is at Reading now. Thought he'd go on to do more.

Got a mate who is a Swansea fan and ex player, helps out with training with Swansea under 16s and he rated Barrow very highly !!

The pub JH is referring to is fittingly called "The Station Hotel/Pub" and literally directly opposite the train station. Impossible to miss, although you might have to wait a while to cross as this area is also home to one of Ipswich's many horrendous junctions. You can see Portman Road from there so it's very close. I think the pub Oldgregg is referring to is McGuinty's, which is a bit further away although still not that far. There's a ton of bars/pubs around that general area but nowadays I'm not sure which ones admit away fans. I imagine most of them do, though, as the pub trade isn't exactly booming around here.

Thanks again DE looking forward can't wait
