  1. Calvin Verdonk (released by Feyenoord), Brad Smith (released by Liverpool) and Stephen Kingsley (released by Hull City) would all be good options for Rovers. Personally would love to see us take a look at Calvin Verdonk.
  2. We've not actually been linked with him. It's a Twitter account that essentially makes suggestions. Meanwhile...
  3. Thomas Galdames of Unión Espanõla is another player I heard last night. But it is a one person source who told me. He's a talented left sided centre back from Chile.
  4. Rovers will prioritise central defenders in this window, after landing a first-choice goalkeeper in the form of Thomas Kaminski from AA Gent. A back-up option will be brought in to allow Andrew Fisher the opportunity to go out on loan, with former Accrington Stanley man Rob Elliot having been mentioned as one option after his release by Newcastle United, with other free agents being looked at.
  5. Thought his contract was expiring. Stand corrected. Granted beggars can't be choosers.
  6. Because he's refusing to sign a new contract. Without this we wouldn't be able to afford him. He signs a new contract. We can't sign him. He refuses to sign a new contract. We shouldn't sign him because he has a bad attitude. Anybody want to remind themselves how we signed Dack for £500,000. Would any of us have rejected him as he "has a bad attitude" for not signing a new contract? It says in the article that Nyambe has been having fitness issues and could leave at the end of this season as his contract is expiring. Surely best to plan ahead when an opportunity arises.
  7. I wouldn't. Travis for Cunningham, Whiteman and a healthy profit on the otherhand.
  8. Would be an excellent signing on a long term deal if Nyambe is off. As a loan it would leave me scratching my head a bit. If it stops Elliott Bennett playing right back however. Awesome.
  9. Bowyer found more bargains because he was playing at a lower level. Once promoted the vast majority of the players, even the better ones, have been found insufficient for Championship level. In fact the academy players have fared better in most instances. The good players we signed under Bowyer were sold off bar one or two players. Carney and Gestede were his successes. Whilst current squad wise Corry Evans is about his only legacy.
  10. Because they are by definition signings? 8 of our 1st team options are from the academy. Players progress often to be better players than ready made signings. Some people just like to have a whinge and get hurried transfer business with no decent preparation or research. I would have thought people would have had enough of that which we endured in the Kean years? Apparently not. Just splurge goodness knows what money on names on a sheet as opposed to measured useful signings. Give me well researched and budgeted players over hurried signings any day!
  11. No. ??‍♂️ He refused to sign a new contract because PNE didn't show any intention of giving him 1st team football. We offered him a chance.
  12. Southampton and Palace were after him apparently. Personally would prefer he came in on a long-term deal as our second needed centre back. Naby Sarr as the first maybe? The transfer window has been open for what? 36 days? In that time we have a new number one keeper on a longterm deal, a highly promising winger who is pushing for 1st team recognition already, have signed a promising young forward on a free, have made offers for players that haven't panned out (it happens), have made headway in moving on high earners who aren't pushing for 1st team selection as much as they should be and have clearly set out what we are looking for in budget without being bullied by player or other clubs. I would rate Mowbray and co's success at present a B-
  13. Numerous U23 performances. He is highly talented. We can't afford him. Could be the making of him. Don't think it would be a loan.
  14. Blackburn Rovers target Kipre moves closer to West Brom switch
  15. Here's a question. Do sell-on fee's include loan fee's? Celtic paid Brighton £2 million to loan Duffy.
  16. Clubs tend to give out new contracts before loaning players out.
  17. Pretty sure Cameron Carter-Vickers is another player who has been discussed as a loan target.
  18. Turns out WBA have offered the same wage structure to Kipré as Rovers and he has no guarantee of game time. Will probably still choose WBA, but has been made to look a right wally the last few days.
  19. Cedric Kipre update as Blackburn Rovers target holds out for West Brom move
  20. Genuinely staggering. Medical yesterday. Completed. Player been told to wait whilst WBA work on deals for potentially better players. He must know sooner or later that he won't be near the 1st team if he signs for them. Rovers have agreed a fee and also made an offer of contract to player pending a medical. He would be a Rovers player within hours of the medical. He is a fool if he puts himself through this. Maybe it is better for himself if he calls himself a Premier League footballer but never actually plays rather than a Championship player who actually plays week in week out. Money and profile is key these days.
  21. Guess that depends whether we have incoming money from sales. They won't get a million for him. Half that is more likely and that is where we are capable. How nice will it be to have 2 1st team quality keepers though.
  22. Could Dillon Phillips be the second keeper to join Rovers?
  23. Two fold. 1. Duffy has a sell on clause so Rovers would be eligible for funds should he move on a long term deal 2. WBA were supposedly after Duffy which people think would mean would end there interest in Kipré. WBA would happily sign both however.
