  1. Take that at half time. Going to need more energy on the left though in the second half as Conway will tire.
  2. Fair play starting the young lad at the back. Hopefully he has a good game but I certainly won't be slating him if we loose. Agree with a few on here. Dack swapped for Rothwell if we are going on form. It's last chance for him to me. Have another no show and you've got to give someone else a go. 3-1 Rovers
  3. Yes really. He's a very poor defender who doesn't do well himself. All over the pitch you need leaders but especially in defence as it's a more structured position. It's not like up front or on the wing where you can drift around. I'd bet anyone on here that if a proper centre half was playing next to Lenihan not only would we concede less but Nyambe, Bell and Raya would perform better. A Samba or Nelsen type would have had us nearer 8th at least. To many are blinded by him scoring set pieces and corners. I'd rather a defender who improves the team than an individual who is gifted technically.
  4. Starting to wish that Mulgrew is one of the first out the door this year. We are meant to have a team of soldiers with a handful of talent. I'd prefer any soldier players to be in defence and central midfield and Mulgrew isn't either. He's basically doing the role of a rugby penalty kick taker. Can't do anything else. Doesn't have fight, isn't committed, goes missing when needed. He's a piss poor defender who is just as bad as William's and the like. Only reason he doesn't get slated is because he can score a corner or free kick, yet can't defend. Not a proper player.
  5. Unfortunately like you'll see yourself, most supporters are rating managers now on "Is he stealing from the club". You'll also get the "well he got promoted he's brilliant". He came second in a two teamed league and looked for a time to miss out to Shrewsbury managed by Hurst who very few on here rate. He lies to supporters saying we need 4/5 transfer windows to improve yet doesn't use them when they come around. Can't sort a defence out to save his life and plays a BTEC version of Sam Alardyce football. At least that guy could coach a defence. 4/10 manager for me. Below average and if we had competent owners he'd easily be replaceable.
  6. What they had was that nastiness to win at all costs. Unfortunately our great saviour doesn't have that. End of the day no one cares how you win. Just that you win. If Rovers had been 1-0 and wasting time I would have applauded them for it. You don't get paid stupid money to be nice and you don't charge supporters an entry fee to watch manners and class.
  7. He should be slamming Dack for his clear lack of fitness and application since January or Mulgrew for the fact he can't head balls in the air or attack crosses yet score 25 yard free kicks and direct corners. The effort and application stems from the manager. When he came out in January and didn't push to strengthen he set the tone to the rest of his staff and players that this season was over. Now we've collapsed so spectacularly that we ARE in a relegation fight the season isn't over all of a sudden and you cannot pick up your performance levels at the flick of a switch. Fair play. He did the job last year and up to Christmas and January was doing very well but I can't stand a manager that won't push and push to improve. He missed his opportunity in January and should rightly be slatted along with the players for how it's turned out. You Mowbray lovers defend that if you can........
  8. Think you'll find in football and most aspects of life that class finishes last. Smallwood is obviously far out of his ability limit playing for us at this level. 5th choice centre midfielder sure. First team or bench regular he is not. For the thousands a week any player should try. They should try their backside off.
  9. The main issue I have with this manager is that by having his own guy as his boss in Waggot, he's basically put himself in a near unsackable position. Ask yourself is that one example there any different to kean and the agent prick who decided to keep each other in long term cushy jobs? I don't think it is. Seen a few say he could have walked away if only on 12 months or 24 months. If that was the case he would have to be performing well to get any interest, it's as much about manager hunger as it is player hunger. This manager isn't hungry for that top success. I don't care what anyone says, it was guaranteed to be promoted last season. Biggest budget, best team, second place. Oh brilliant.
  10. Leutwiler Nyambe Rodwell Williams Bell Reed Travis Armstrong Dack Rothwell Graham If Dack doesn't step up he's the next one out the team for me. Mr Invisible.
  11. Think it's easier to call the goalkeeper out because he's a lot younger than the likes of Mulgrew. Plus he isn't the team captain. Not brilliant team spirit I see. Where Dacknaldo gone recently. Maybe he's already in London in his mind.
  12. We had a chance to strengthen from a position of power in January being a handful of points away from 6th position. Yet the manager stated he didn't want to upset the team spirit and brought in a young winger who can't get on the pitch. Said it back then and saying it now. That was the moment he wasn't the man for Rovers. It happened to us when we won the premier league and everyone and their dog said, go out and get quality in. Everyone knows how that turned out. I can forgive someone for a lack of ability or a lack of idea but a lack of ambition and drive is sackable to be. It isn't just the resent results. Many have said he's been here around 2 years yet we look just as bad in defence as we did under coyle and that other bold prick. I'll call it now the match reaction will be along the lines of "well the ref didn't help you game or the other team we're very physical" I'd look at Dack as well. I genuinely think he's gone into Gillingham out more where he want away to a team further up. You can have bad form but over a number of months after more than holding his own doesn't happen without cause. Smallwood is Jason Lowe number two. Enough said and the team we played today who are in the bottom three didn't want him in league 1 yet starts week in week out. Not good enough for the fans who travel. I voted to reassess in the summer because I didn't want any disruption during the season. I now want someone in a position of power to nail him for every poor thing that happens week after week. Smallwood, Bennet automatic picks, why? Dacks poor form, why? Shit defending after two seasons, why? Inability to play football against poor teams, why? Raya never being dropped to give him a boot up the backside, why And finally how are YOU going to fix this mess
  13. 2-1 win, Armstrong and Dack Raya Nyambe Rodwell Mulgrew Bell Reed Smallwood Armstrong Dack Bennet Graham Get it on the ground and in behind them.
  14. Any chance Venkys are attending and want as few home supporters as possible to avoid negative criticism from fans? I know it's out there but you never know. Can't imagine that away fans would bother them.
  15. Fair enough I just don't like how the media can basically back an individual and influence not just a fan base but entire football clubs into believing agendas. The same media that are saying Lampards doing well give him time are the same that are saying the Chelsea manager Sarri should be sacked for Lampard to replace him. Again they love the fact that Manchester city spend bucket loads upon bucket loads to gain success yet when little blackburn did it with a lifelong fan in charge in Jack Walker it was a disgrace to football and we bought the league over United. Utter bollocks. I see no difference between how Lampard is doing compared to other managers around his age.
  16. Heard Bennet can play centre half. He'll give it a right good go with plenty of soldering. Can even switch to left back during the game. Possibly take the goal kicks as well. All hail Mowbray the wise
  17. Some of the players brought in I have no idea if they can handle this league because they are hardly played. Why drop Armstrong? Only player with pace. Why not give Rothwell a go? Why not give Brereton some games if this season is apparently over? Frustrates the life out of me when we are so predictable and never change anything. The definition of insanity is doing the same exact thing time after time and expecting something to change or improve. Like you say bowyer had a better recruitment record but similar to this manager couldn't manage to open a packet of crisps. Shit defending and no attacking effectiveness.
  18. I'm sick and tired of professional football players being allowed to put in performances that are shit without consequences. Should be written into every players contract that if you perform below 60% then your wage is withheld for that week. When Derrick fucking Williams earns more in a week than some people do in a year it is taking the piss and makes a mockery of football. No pride in these players you can get beat by a better team and some of the players are playing a level above what they are capable of but at least give it a go. Try and impose yourself on the game in some way or another. Fuck what the manager says and does. He should be on a contract of 2 years to say earn your next one. He's got his big deal and has failed ever since. The only people who suffer are the supporters of the club. Said back in January that this season was the time to go for it as next season will go downhill quickly and that any of our half decent players will not be here. As for the few who still back this manager to adapt and improve or think Dack and Reed will be here next season get real and see what's happening. Bowyer MK2.
  19. Looking at them results there's been some massive fuck ups from winning positions or positions where we've been fortunate to be in. Swansea away we we're winning until we threw it away. Middlesbrough with ten men and we we're winning and threw it away. Leeds we lost when winning in the 91st minute, I don't even know how that's possible. Then there's Sheffield United, brentford and reading. All games we had more than a chance to win and should have if we had a ruthless streak. That's 17 extra points on top of what we have.
  20. In an ideal world I'd like us to pick up Liam Lindsey for the left side centre half as a natural left footed player. I'd also look at bringing the Portsmouth winger Jamaal Lowe in who seems to get goals and assists. Another player is John Marques as a rotation with Graham and Brereton for the striker position. Plenty of other players as well who would improve us.
  21. The reason I personally question the manager is because of the consistent trends with getting into game winning positions to then throw them away. Away to Leeds is a prime example, your goalie gifts us a goal in the 90th minute, yet you go on to win 3-2 I don't care what level football is played at that is terrible and it happens a lot. Swansea away, Bristol city away, Middlesbrough home and away, reading home and away and the list can go on. I don't have any confidence in his setup management to create a solid defence. If we conceded less goals we would be right up the table with you. Under our owners it's a case of do the job while their interested because once they start getting board shit hits the fan big time.
  22. 4 wins 2 losses. I know that sounds crazy but this Rovers team and management are so unpredictable it's untrue. Rotherham, Preston, Wigan and Sheffield Wednesday all wins Birmingham and Villa both losses #Keep the faith
  23. These younger lads need full game minutes. If our manager has basically written off the season after January then I'd like to see more of the younger players playing full games. If they make mistakes so be it that's what you get with young players. We seem to play whoever comes to mind in defence anyway. Truth be told neither Rodwell or Mulgrew are up to it at this level as defenders. It's making the best of a bad bunch. The Bennet at home part is because I genuinely never will believe he would be dropped from the team and I don't think we've many other options. The winger might be defensive but the two centre midfielders are more attacking. Got to have some balance. Brereton is doing what a young 19 year old lad whose in and out of the team being badly managed will do. He's had an okay game at reading but a poor game against Middlesbrough. If we are dropping players for consistent poor games then a good number of experienced players should be dropped as well. To me. Get to 50 points make sure we aren't relegated then bring some youth academy players in say 2 or 3 and give them a go. Away from home there is less pressure certainly from your own fans. I've seen someone say today that Brereton gets the ball at home and it's sudden doom and gloom. Away from home I would honestly say to the lads, keep your shape this is the set up and get on with it. Nice and simple because the over complicated stuff isn't working. Let lads make mistakes and be a manager and help them learn. Blackburn Rovers won't get anything out of playing Conway, Bennet and the likes EVERY game.
