  1. It was a brilliant night. The reception he received was unbelievable, a real hairs on the back of your neck moment. You could tell he was really moved by it. An absolute legend, my hero and the greatest player to wear the blue and white shirt (in my opinion).
  2. Yet another game which can be filed in the “should have won” category. We have a serious problem in not being able to kill games off and being punished for it. Being the optimist that I am, I’m hoping that the end of the hectic period where time on the training ground is minimal will now allow JDT to spend some serious time with the group and iron out some of these problems. This with the much needed return of some of our key players will hopefully have a positive impact…
  3. Those last 30 minutes were a hard watch but it’s all about 3 points in the end.
  4. Alternatively a win could take us 3 points within 4th place Sunderland…..
  5. I generally avoid this forum immediately after a loss. Posts and opinions full of negative emotions generally doesn’t create an atmosphere for constructive debate. My opinion on the game for what it’s worth…..more than in it for 80 mins. The Travis/Sammie chance at 2-1 being the turning point. At times I thought our play was very good. When we get it right we play some excellent stuff. Just the balance between attack and defence needs addressing. I’m not panicking at this stage (9 games in to the season people!) I thought Brittain and Moran were our standouts yesterday. Keep the faith….
  6. I think the thing I’ve learnt the most after todays game is to tell the wife tea needs to be ready for 6 not half 5…..she was not happy!
  7. Absolutely gutted to miss out by GD in the end but ultimately our results over the last 10 games have not been good enough. I don’t bother with the “what if” moments these days as it drives me mentally mad! That being said I’m confident that a full preseason under JDT and positive recruitment in the summer we can be even more competitive next season. Now I appreciate the recruitment element is somewhat contentious and the whole January saga is making even the most optimistic Rover like me nervous, but here’s hoping to lessons learnt and we get it right. The modern day fan is obsessed with amount of money spent, but we just need to be smart and effective with our signings. There are absolute gems out there for minimal transfer fees, we just need to hope our recruitment team can find them. And I know many people on here are dismissive of loans, but you only need to look at the likes of Burnley/Sheff U and Sunderland that have used that market to good affect.
  8. IF we can get a positive result tomorrow, I might just be able to shake off the disappointment of the last two games. It’s going to take a huge effort and absolutely everyone being on top form. The team talk should be easy. Show them the game from earlier in the season and say we need to do everything we didn’t do in that game. Be aggressive without the ball and brave when on the ball. Leave absolutely everything out there. COYB!!
  9. I’m not having any of this “JDT at fault” nonsense. If Hedges does anything other than what he did, we go and win that game. I feel really sorry for him because he was excellent when he came on, completely changed the game. Just when you think you’ve seen it all the other night this happens. Only fucking Rovers eh!
  10. Either one carries risks, but we don’t really have any other options.
  11. I’m told Diaz on the bench and Gally injured for tonight. A Wharton to start too. Unsure about the fitness of others. Nerves kicking in now….
  12. That really hurts tonight, and I fear it may mentally crush the group. Let’s try and put a positive spin on it though….1 more game ticked off and we remain in the top 6.
  13. What I want to see tonight; quick passing, high press, high tempo, bravery, desire, 100% effort, commitment in 50/50s, goals……oh and a win! Not asking too much right??
