  1. Obviously he can make that walk next week if he chooses, although I would wonder why he had waited until then rather than going for his walk today. Of course he, or any other employee, who makes that decision, needs to understand that they will no longer be drawing their salary - although any who are on fixed term contracts also need to understand that if they want another job before the expiry of that term then their new employer will probably need to pay up the balance of that contract. I doubt if he, or anyone else based at Ewood Park, had to consent to the sale of Adam Wharton - that decision was taken in Pune. Sorry to sound so negative - in many ways I like JDT and I don't blame him for the general air of depression around the club at the moment . But then I don't blame Broughton either who has also had to deal with deteriorating finances and moving goal posts.
  2. So you're demanding that others take action but won't be doing so yourself ?
  3. Why would we not exercise it if it's in our interest to do so ? Say he comes in and scores 10 goals in our remaining 18 league games surely we exercise it if only to sell him on ?
  4. How are you in a position to regard him as "bang average" ?
  5. Your point about the owners' behaviour is spot on - and is why so much of the criticism aimed at those working at Ewood Park is unfair.
  6. Especially if you start your second XI - a mistake that I don't think we will make.
  7. I don't think it's a bad thing to have more fans in the stadium. But this idea that Preston provide some kind of template as to how to achieve a significant increase in revenues and performance on the field is a fantasy .
  8. "Immeasurable" to the extent that they rose from 13th the previous season to 12th last season.
  9. Many posters keep saying the manager is going to "walk". Why spend the little money we have now when there will be somebody else in charge ?
  10. He scored 7 goals from 40 appearances in the 2020-21 season. That season Sam Gallagher, who according to you is the worst footballer in the history of the game, scored 8 from 39.
  11. The player did nothing for the first 3 years of his contract. Nobody wanted his contract extended.
  12. What sort of offer would anybody have made 2 years before he left ? He was disappointing for the first 3 years.
  13. Impossible for anybody at Ewood Park to sort it out if the owners won't accept an offer below their valuation.
  14. A very good post. From memory wasn't it the Trust who ensured Ewood Park is deemed to an Asset of Community Value ? Why some posters hide behind their keyboards denigrating the efforts of those who work on behalf of the Trust, and the Fans Forum as well, is beyond me.
  15. Looking at various clubs' accounts you are right that annual losses for clubs without parachute payments are often in the £15m or so range. You have to wonder how much longer this can continue. We are now in a situation where the parachute payment clubs take 2 of the 3 promotion places and the other 19 or so clubs are fighting it out for the other place. Why any businessman looking at that would think it justifies the risk involved in buying a club in the Championship baffles me.
  16. It was £20m before tax and £16m after tax. They are in the same group as the other Hemmings family UK businesses and can offset the football club's losses against the profits of those other businesses. Unfortunately that option isn't open to us as there are no significant UK profit making businesses in the Venkys group.
  17. He left us in our highest position since we were relegated from the Premier League - 15 places higher than when he joined.
