Anybody see the 9-2 win over Rochdale and got any info? Sounds promising. 3 goals for the new lad.

Dolan as a right sided Le Saux.
I've definitely heard it all now.
I meant as a converted winger.
He isn't any use anywhere else.
It was a last chance for him imo.
Besides others have mentioned Buckley at right back. I don't want Britain risked.

I never can grasp why people say such drivel whenever we play in the cups.
If the argument was that it isn't as important as other games, fine, but I can't fathom not caring.
We want to get through of course.
But in the real world we are very short of defenders and I wouldn't risk an important player on a crap pitch.
JDT loves the competition but made 11 changes. At least I am honest.

I don't think he is of any use in any position.
But then I didn't think Le Saux would be a good signing.
He certainly isn't good enough as a number 10 or out wide.

I would shove dolan full back as a trial. Hes woeful going forward. But he might just solve us a full back crisis. He has the attributes, hes got some pace, hes fit enough to get up and down, and he does fill in well tracking back. he did on sunday when brittain was out of position. Its not the hardest position in the world to play. Might also free up having to get another full back in.
Exactly my thoughts.
A good place to try.

So who would you play instead of Carter and Brittain, also where would you play Gilsenan ?
Gamble and Dolan.
Be interested to see is Dolan could play like a right sided Le Saux.
Doubt it will work, but he isn't doing the job further forward..

Leo
Dolan
Gamble
Wharton
Pickering
Buckley
Tron
Garrett
Markandy
Moran
Gilsenan
Trying Dolan at RB and giving Moran a chance up front.
I don't care about getting through.

My team for Wednesday would be :
Wahlstadt
Brittain Carter Wharton Pickering
Buckley Tronstad Garrett
Moran Gallagher Markanday
Subs : Pears, Dolan, JRC , Gamble, Batty, Ennis.
Gilsenan is a must starter after his motm performance in the last round.
And we need to save Carter and Britain.

Decent line up but the front 3 is average at best. Not sure where the goals come from.
Don't think Watford are much cop this season though. They've gone down a couple of levels over the summer.
Home advantage will probably edge it in their favour. 2-1.
Leonard looks like a great prospect.
Hedges is very good defensively.
But Dolan shouldn't be playing imo.

Looks like Bloxham is involved in some capacity...
Seems strange he is and Zak Gilsenan isn't. Bloxham looked poor in the game I saw, while Gilsenan looked great..

Didn't realise hirst was 6'3. Hopefully he's a better header of the ball than Gallagher
He's excellent in the air. Most of his goals are headers.

Hearing Rovers have now ended talks with a prospective player who was lined up to replace BBD.
No idea who the player is, but now we’d better hope nobody comes in for him with an offer which meets the valuation.
Dembele probably

No, it's really done tho.
Enrico Palazzo would be a big singing imo!

The question for me has to be (when fit) who plays with Wharton? He's so good that he makes it easy for whoever is playing alongside him.
No coincidence that with him in we've won 3 and without him lost 3. There was that remarkable stat last year as well for a long time of never having lost a game when he's started.
If Hyam's any use the pecking order would be Wharton/Hyam/Ayala/ Phillips/ Carter for me.
Ayala remains our best defender.

Still interest there, expect this to go to end of window, like anything the deal needs to suit the coffers.
Another name though is Chilean Alexander Aravena
That's some Sweet Chilli!
Reminds me a little of Michael Owen. Blistering fast running with the ball, and a fine finisher.

Do you still think that Rankin Costello is better than Nyambe?
He's definitely better going forward.

Ayala is injury prone and Carter isn't good enough....so I'd say CB is critical. This one can play in a 3 aswell. I read that JDT favours and 352...I may be wrong.
Why is Carter not good enough?
He looked great in preseason imo .

Let's get Phillips nailed down.
I know he's not signed the contract but that's a bit harsh! Lol!

Oh no they are doing the weird thing of erasing how bad Buckley was last season overall and trying to convince others to drink the kool-aid. Another season of hearing how good poor performances are and how stunning decent performances are. All to save face. Yawn.
Buckley played extremely well last season. His passing and winning the ball back were the best at the club.

Gent is a left full-back, he started the last U21s friendly at center-back, he was awful there. Of the other center-backs, (Annesley, Saadi and Pratt) I would say Pratt is the only one who may make it as a pro. He is an old fashioned type of defender, when in doubt, put your boot through it.
Yeah, agree, Pratt is next in line after Phillips.

So we're down to Wharton Ayala and Phillips?
So essentially, we're down to Wharton and Phillips
Genuinely what other centre back options do we have? We don't have any midfielders that we could repurpose for a couple of games do we? Unless Edun could do a shift there?
Would have Gallagher at CB before Edun.
But either would be drastic..

Looking very thin on the ground for CB's now!

His first touch is terrible and he really struggles to hold the ball up so I dont see how he would be good in that situation at all. An extreme and old example of him running down the clock was him setting up Prestons counter attack last minute equaliser in the relegation season!
Dack is great when holding on to a lead. Very intelligent and excellent ar holding it up and killing time.
Well the other team is pushing forward there is much more space to gallop in to. Whereas in tight spaces the likes of Dack can make a difference.

That certainly wasn't evident on Saturday.
It was from what I could see. Some great touches and passes despite being closely marked.

And Leonard 2.
And Garrett is really racking up the goals with another one too.
Pity we haven't heard much more about the game.
