  1. We'd probably lose 7-6. We play a high pressing game; Rhodes would be a terrible fit. I'll take the ultra hard working Gallagher over Rhodes any day.
  2. He's bound to be close Amigo. Sounded like he played well again, and scored a decent goal in the previous match. Having played in the tough Irish league should stand him in good stead.
  3. I've only seen 5 or 6 U23 games. But remember Mols brilliant overhead kick, and heard he played awesome today. And remember the superb link up between Butterworth and Vale for a fantastic Vale goal that day. I think we are well stocked in attack, but great if we could sign a centre back.
  4. Cheers sir! Really think Vale and Mols should be knocking on the door of the first team.
  5. The Cash of the tight uns is running a bit low to be signing such prominent folk.
  6. Yes indeed, he was already in our team, and Tony supported him well.
  7. No, they don't. We had better players than him remain to help us out of League 1.
  8. Tony played him all the time, we have Coyle to blame for not playing him.
  9. I do remember someone saying "you don't win anything with kids".
  10. Rankin Costello impressed me massively when he played in the league cup earlier in the season. He always looked the most suited for a step up imo. But the two young keepers, Butterworth, Lyons, Mols, Buckley, Evans and Vale are all very exciting. And we have some excellent young defenders too. I am positive 2 or 3 should get a chance this year.
  11. You guys are very pessimistic. Much as it has been devastating losing Dack and Evans, we have some top notch young players coming through that may now get a chance. Also Bell looks good when Tosin, Lenihan and Nyambe are playing. I wonder have we turned our attention to the young Polish GK as Fisher and Hilton are coming along well. And one will be number 2 Gk next year, if not better. My biggest concern is CB if Tosin or Lenihan are injured. Also, hopefully next year we are in the Premier league and can sign Tosin outright.
  12. In the real world we beat Sheffield Wednesday 5-0. And we got out of League One where other big clubs have remained. Tony is doing pretty well in my view, and if we can keep the back 4 fit I think we can make the playoffs.
  13. He's the best player I have seen us linked with. I can tell from those highlights.
  14. Would rather us get a left sides attacker. JRC has long deserved a chance on the right of midfield. Hopefully it's Jordan Jones; right footed but often plays on the left.
  15. Yeah, would worry me too. Could only see him being brought on to tighten things up if we were already ahead.
  16. I thought he performed very well for the U23s. Am thinking Mulgrew's return has forced him out. Would much rather have had Hart's pace than Mulgrew at left back if Bell or Downing are missing for any reason.
  17. A nightmare for the lad, and big blow for supporters of Rovers and N Ireland. Hopefully it isn't as bad as it sounds and we see him again before the end of the season.
  18. Damn, a fractured eye socket and cheekbone for Evans; sounds horrendous! Best wishes Corry. Hopefully Rankin Costello will be given the chance to step up when fully fit. And Downing looked good alongside Travis, if we sign a left wing player. Like many others I am tired of strikers being played on the wing.
  19. He can pass and shoot, just not head the ball or run any more; pretty important for a defender.
  20. He played at Charlton helping to gift them a goal when we were dominant.
  21. Imo Rhodes did very little but score (though he was very good at that) Gestede and King were a much better pairing, and I believe we may have been promoted if Bowyer had given them a chance to play together more in the league.
  22. Michael O'Neill never rated him on the international stage, and O'Neill is a very good judge.
  23. Any chance we could move for Connor Gallagher? Or I wonder who is after him? Could make a Dack replacement?
